Awe Sandra. I just saw your video. You are so strong to share your story. I’m a Registered Nurse and a mom of 5. Our first son was born with a rare and fatal heart defect and we ultimately took him off life support a day after his first birthday. As a nurse nothing could have prepared me for the journey I was about to take. 5 years later we found out we were having twins and one had a heart defect which was not fatal. He had 3 open heart surgeries and spent the first 5 months in the NICU and PICU. He was finally extubated and breathing on his own three weeks before he came home. We found out that it was genetic so my surviving children can pass it onto one of their children and our oldest daughter is expecting our first grandson in April and we just found out that he has a systolic murmur is under weight but is being closely monitored. I understand what you’re feeling because the last thing I wanted to hear from people with both of my sons was that everything was going to be Okay. I know they meant well, but they weren’t in our situation. But what I will tell you as moms we have a strength that surpasses so much. Our first baby that passed away was not supposed to live past three months, but he made it to a year and his surgeons told us it was because of my will and my strength. You will find a strength and you keep on loving on that baby. And you take care of yourself because he is going to need you and you need talk to people, if you can find a support group even if someone isn’t familiar sometimes we just need people to listen and not respond lol. I’ve personally worked with families of CF children and babies and I’ve seen them thrive. Just remember it’s your journey and have peace in that. My 17 month old daughter passed away unexpectedly almost 27 years ago. Talking does help you heal….always talk. Thank you for sharing this very very hard story and I wish you and family all the healings vibes and prayers that everything will work out in the end. ❤

It took me 3 times to get through this whole video, I was crying and then when you started crying and I could see you struggling I was a basket case! I love you Sandra!!! Thanks for sharing your story, you have been through so much bringing Logan into the world and caring for him. I know you are a very worried Momma, so my prayers are with you and of course with Logan. My cousin's granddaughter was also born with CF, she is a beautiful 4 year old little girl who is pure joy. She has endured medical treatments with such calm and patience, she is amazing. They live here in the US, so healthcare here is different as you stated, but she has really done well, her older sister was tested and does not have it. I'm sure you will have a journey with Logan, and I'm glad you are getting all the information you need, and hope you find a support system because it will be invaluable to you. Take care of yourself and your family first, and try not to worry about anything else.
I had an emergency c-section for the exact same reason with my daughter due to her heart rate during contractions, and it was definitely scary. Prayers and blessings for your sweet Logan and your family 😊
Sending prayers and hugs to you and your family. My daughter was diagnosed with Seizures and Cerebral Palsy at 4 months. I was also an emotional wreck. The drs said she wouldn’t live past 2. She is now 22 going on 23. Sending love to Logan and your other kids. My kids are a big help with their sister. I know your kids will be too for their little brother. May God continue to bless y’all.
Oh, gosh, you have been through hell & back. I don’t know anyone with CF either but I watched The Frey Life you tube channel for years & watched her life change for the better with the new medications available. It’s still a tough challenge even with the new treatments. You’re so sweet, too - i wish you didn’t have to go through this but Logan’s got the best Mom possible in his corner plus two older siblings & a Dad who will be there for him - you’re all going to get much more tightly bonded over this & I am willing to bet Logan’s going to have a good long life. Gotta admit I’m more worried about you. Please take care of yourself! You know that old saying, you can’t pour from an empty cup.
