This is facts. Plenty of people and entities have milked hip-hop with utter disdain for everything about it except the market appeal and the untold millions it made them.
The ones at the labels who pushed gangsta rap to the forefront, along with the people in suits at the top, made the most money off perpetuating and promoting violent street life than conscious or positively empowering hip-hop as it was easier to sell with the likely side bonus of hurting Black and low-income communities to feed the legal system.
I like Reggie but declaring that nobody involved in hip-hop can be racist is crazy. Plenty of people will do what they can to make big money for themselves, racist toward the actual art and artists or not, since money doesn't care where it came from.

Suge ruined the label all by himself. He called all the shots and couldn't make anything happen when he came back from prison. He lost all the talent because he kept lying and betraying everybody. He still had real talent like Daz and Crooked I, and even got Kurupt back at one point. But he ruined everything by constantly fucking people over. Death Row still had a huge audience, everybody waiting for new music from Death Row (or Tha Row later). But Suge was jealous running around after Snoop and Dre, hating and showing up at their shows trying to scare and distort people, when he should've been focusing on releasing new music. I remember all of it, because I lived it and was a big fan. The downfall of Suge Knight has been crazy, he had everything and ruined it all.

These allegations are a new low for Suge. It's really a sad state Suge has gone to, making up lies about his most loyal employees from behind bars. Great to see Reggie defend Jon. I was at the Death Row message boards back in the 2000's when Jon was one of the last ones keeping the record label alive in the internet, messaging with fans on the message board when he was allowed to, defending Suge and the label. This is how Suge once again betrays his own.
On some real ish, it’s really good to see all of those people rally to John’s defense when such a disgusting accusation was launched. That speaks volumes about who he is and the relationships he’s maintained. Good job, John. Good to see real homies that know have your back. 💯
