Just skipping ahead to put a message to all the metal and thrash experts who are about to comment on how amateur this album is and how the vocals are a mock. Just give it a rest and go back to whatever Anthrax or Tool record you've been listening. This is THE GIZZVERSE and you have no power here.
This album is one of the best this year so far. The only problem with it - and I can't believe I'm saying that!!! - is Stu. Because, come on, these are not "vocals". This sounds more like mockery of metal singers, and I'm not sure if it's deliberate or not.
You must remember that Stu is not a metal singer and, therefore, he doesn't have much training in these types of vocals. So basically, Stu is taking the safe approach by not adding much range to his voice in this album, which makes the vocals a bit stale and repetitive. However, you must keep in mind that this is quite an experimental album for the band, I'm sure in the future we'll see Stu's metal vocals improving as he'll have more practice performing these songs live
Depends on how you look at the album. If you're a gizz fan, you know this is an experimental album for the band and a good one, actually. If you're a metal fan, you should probably go back to loudly spinning in some old lady's living room
