this is the way windows use to be, simple and elegant, at least for windows 7. In the old days, that's what software was, it worked for you, not against you. The push to do more and more, has caused a rush of changes on modern software and systems and it takes the spirit of freedom away from the user. This is why I'm being pulled toward BSD.

I try booting the latest version of GhostBSD on my Lenovo ThinkPad laptop from 2014 and I just get a bunch of warnings telling me to install the nVidia drivers. But I don't want to, and I shouldn't have to: the system has Intel integrated graphics, and the nVidia card was added extra just for a little extra performance.
Most Linux distros just ignore it and choose to use the Intel integrated, which in most cases is enough for me. For some reason, GhostBSD sees the nVidia card and then fails to set up the display on the spot, notifying me that there is an nVidia card in there, as if I actually wanted to use it.
On the other hand, NomadBSD does boot into a fully functional desktop, although I don't know if it's using the nVidia or Intel card. To be honest, I don't really care which one it is, because it works and it's good enough. It's not like I expect to do any heavy 3D like gaming in a BSD, my expectations aren't that high.

Apps like Libre office, zoom, telegram, skype available on BSD?
Any website to check what apps are available for BSD?
