Gamelan Bus Visit

At school we are used to seeing various busses arrive, but perhaps not a bright purple double decker bus! As part of several enrichment activities organised by the music department, this purple double decker, owned by Sarah and Victor Crew specialises in Gamelan. Gamelan is the traditional ensemble music from Indonesia and is made up of predominately percussive instruments. The students (and staff!) enjoyed a very informative, fun session, playing all sorts of fabulous instruments such as the Bonang, Saron and a (very large) Gong! By the end of the session, the group were successfully performing a piece with all instruments and rhythms blending beautifully together!
