She basically just went through all her V-1 covers, but they ain't wrong. She flexed her versatility on that show. Her first song was a pop ballad, then a powerful rock, and then soulful blues. I've learned that the key to a pop ballad is to have a sweet and beautiful voice with a few runs, the key to a powerful rock song is to have a powerful, impassioned voice, and the key to a soulful song is vibrato and unique vocal texture or tone. It's far more difficult to sing soulfully because that vocal tone does not exist in everyone. I think it's easier to sing a rock song because all you need is a loud voice and emotional attachment to whatever you are singing. Don't get me wrong though. I LOVE rock music way more than any other genre because it makes me feel motivated to do whatever the song tells me. It just goes to show you don't need a perfect voice to make an impact.
