The Red Wedding is actually based on a historic event that took place in Scotland in 1440. Later called the Black Dinner.
I just watch an episode of "Castles & Legends" and they talked about it. So does that mean James II is the real life Joffrey?
Marcus Bierman A lot of characters and events in Game of Thrones are based off on European/Asian classical and medieval history. Tywin Lannister, for example, bears a lot traits of King Edward I of England. The Dothraki share similar traits to the Huns. King Robert Baratheon is a combination of King Henry VII-VIII. etc... It is kind of fun to look up historical figures and try to place them on Game of Thrones characters.

Kevin Fee From what I have researched, Margery is very loosely based on Anne Boleyn. Oberyn is based on Indigo Montoya from the Princess Bride. Arya is being used to highlight what the experience and reality of what life was like during the Hundred Years War.
It's interesting how every guy freaks out when they kill the wife, and every girl freaks out when Rob dies.
Actually, I think most women tend to gasp as the wife stabbing more than the robb.
I'd imagine because of that whole "mother instinct" thing.

I had it more towards Robb than Talisa because I wasn't very fond of her (I thought that Robb and her having kids and stuff would take his attention away from the war and then they'd lose or get killed or something). But I still felt worse about Robb because Arya and Sansa had nobody left that they thought were alive after he and Catlyn died. Plus he's a Stark and I knew him from the start so grew more attached to all of the Starks than other characters.

The subtitles' should grow bigger based on how loudly the words are said. For example, "Slit her throat Catelyn, fuckin'..." would be in normal size, and the "YES" would just take up the whole screen. Hilarious videos by the way. :P I'm surprised there aren't more season 4 reactions, there was a lot of good stuff in there. Either way, I hope to see many more to come. I've read past the point where the series ends, and I can tell you that you have a ton of cool stuff to look forward too. Then again, it's GoT, of course there's gonna be cool stuff.

Grrrr I'm so mad!!! Slit that poor innocent girls throat Catelyn. It blows my mind how many people are happy that Catelyn slits the girls throat. She's like the only one there who did absolutely NOTHING to deserve any of this. Not saying the Stark's deserved it either, but no matter the intentions, their actions are still what caused this.
HBKCommish well she actually slits one of Walders Grandsons throats, the poor guy was pretty much like Hodor, he was harmless and hated violence, she knew that and killed him anyway.

Killing the innocent girl was more of a stain on her honour than breaking her oath would have been.
It is to show how upset she is, overtaken by rage and despair, something that she would never ordinarily do. Very powerful - I love how Michelle Fairley makes it so casual to show how she is so lost that she doesn't even care that she's killing an innocent

+iagorincon Some people can't understand english so easily but they can read . It's good for foreigners .
Even native English-speakers find subtitles helpful sometimes. The volume can be weird, or they're not familiar with that particular accent, or there's too much noise going on at once, or they could have some kind of hearing issue. Like me; I have a processing disorder that leads to me getting sounds switched around or blurred together (even though my ears themselves are fine). So having subtitles is a HUGE help. I can at least confirm whether or not I heard what I thought I did. :)

She was raped by the guy with the two swords in episode where bran had the vision, the scream from the tower was her giving birth and died from it. In the first episode Ned told jon he is a true stark but won't tell him until the time was right. Khlessi and Jon are the true rulers of the kingdoms.
Ser Arthur Dayne did not rape Lyanna, he is like Ned Stark, carries himself with a high degree of honour, atleast this was my interpretation
