I prepared a cam that you installed in reflector area. owners can install another one using an upgrade reflector with brake LED lights. literally it is more visible.
Just new to you channel , I think there is a little glare on the reflector mounted (grey at top ot screen not black ) but its so much better position and its temper proof. I sure the law doesnt state size of reflector just that it has to have one and be red . Also the rear lights will reflect the headlights of cars travelling towards the rear of the bike when not switched on.
That is the neatest rear install we have seen to date.. You would never know it is there and gives a better FOV and video quality.. Thanks. Steve. Innovv UK
Reflector installation looks great. Just a thought though.. Because you have drilled a hole in the reflector it could be considered a damaged reflector when going for an MOT..
Thanks for the video Steve, and the reflector mounting option is very tidy. However, I think that you may be missing the purpose of the reflector. My understanding is that it is a fail safe option if you lose rear lighting. If the electrics or bulb fails, then following traffic will still be alerted by their headlight ‘ reflecting’ back from the ‘reflector’. So your comment about “these guys have got plenty of rear lighting” (cause they fitted Denali rear lights), doesn’t overcome the real purpose of rear reflection. Drilling a hole will certainly reduce the amount of reflected light, so if I were going to do that, and I think I might, I would mount an additional reflector, possibly along the bottom of the plate, just below, or above the additional Denali light. Keep the videos coming, I enjoy your presentation and the quality of the work.
Hi Steve. Great video. I have an F750GS, and the rear license plate light is a bit different. On your clients' bikes, the license plate light is not aiming straight down, but more at a 45(ish) degree angle. On my bike, the light is aiming straight down and is directly on top and in front of the reflector. I do not think I would get the same great video quality that you achieved. Any advice for my bike?
Great video! I was one of the people commenting on Instagram wondering if the light above the camera would add glare, but, happy to see that’s not the case - the footage looks perfectly clear 👍🏻🙂
The reflector install is definitely the nicer install, would it cause issues with the MOT would they have issues with the reflector being slightly obstructed by the camera?
Great video again Steve. The reflector mounted looks fantastic and is more discreet than using a bracket. Personally I have mine attached to the left-hand side back indicator but slung under the indicator and just above the numberplate. That aside, I’ve just ordered the B9 from you😁
The reflector mounted has a nicer image and more centered. I installed mine over the turning lights but installed it far back so the turning light doesn't show on the video, nevertheless the base of the top case shows. And the image is not so well centered as you achieved with the reflector mounting. Nice comparison good idea!
OddRob That’s a brilliant solution to the rear camera, but does anybody have a a solution for the front camera on the latest RT, as the position that was there is now taken up with the radar unit and I am struggling to find a suitable position for the bracket other than relying totally on the supplied adhesive pads, any help would be appreciated
Thanks for the comparison, I am now 100% convinced that the reflector mount is THE mounting option. Now I just have to wait for the release and eventual arrival of my 2021 V4 Multistrudel - let's just say I am stoked. Is it the 4th of November yet?
I would not fit it with any of the rear light or indicator within the field of view anyway..not a great comparison. You can certainly see further down the drive with the one taking in the rear indicator...but why fit them showing that and part of the rear light ? Granted,it sure looks neater in the rear reflector,Yamaha have just done a recall on the T7 bikes as the rear reflector has not the reflectivity that they should have...would a reduction in the reflective area by having the area reduced by the camera meet the required requirements? Also..how would the images be from camera within the reflector be compared with a position not showing the indicator stalk and part of the rear light lens at night when followed by a car with headlights on? I am having trouble with the comparison with one camera in such a poor location..make it a fair comparison with both cameras not having impeded views.
Definitely the reflector 👍
Way cleaner mounted in the reflector!
Steve ... for me .. I choose middle mounting ... 🤟
I prepared a cam that you installed in reflector area. owners can install another one using an upgrade reflector with brake LED lights. literally it is more visible.
Reflector mount looks excellent and gives unobstructed view

The center mount camera definitely has better footage.
100% reflector mounted. Cleaner finish to the installation. Good video
They both are very professional looking, naturally, but the reflector mount is soooooo clean!
Much more real estate with the reflector mount...I like it.
Thanks Steve. Definitely in the middle of the reflector for my 2018 RT and would opt for that. Cheers from Australia - Alan.
Can you make a video how to drill the reflector?
Great video comparison, definitely the reflector mounting seems clearer and more visible...cheers Alan
Great idea Steve and def the middle of the reflector, the footage was clearer in both day and night!

Reflector mounted! When is your install video coming out?

Thanks Steve, but can you do a ride and compare camera vibrations?

Another great video Steve, I do like the reflector mount, keeps it covert
Reflector mount wins every time Steve.
What an innovv-ative idea Steve 👍🏻. Definitely at the reflector! Well done mate
The reflector install is definitely the nicer install, would it cause issues with the MOT would they have issues with the reflector being slightly obstructed by the camera?
No because there is no size the reflector needs to be and with the camera is the middle is it now two reflector's
@@grahammawdsley4864 great to know, it's definitely the install option I'll be going for, just wanted to be sure about the MOT thanks for the info 👍
@@allenfazer Most Bike MOT testing stations have stick on reflector's just incase yours has fallen off on the way for the MOT 😂
Awesome! Is it easy to drill the hole? Would think it might crack.
Those were my concerns 😬. Hole saw at speed and little pressure allowing time for it to cool down between 10 second sessions of drillling.
Great video again Steve.

reflector much cleaner...
