    Very nice job rigging the Bonafide! Can’t wait to see you on the water with it.

    That's a great setup. I'm currently running a sportsman 120 PDL, but am looking at the various lines of trolling motor kayaks now. I come from the bass boat side, and having a foot-controlled TM like you've got is a huge upgrade over just using the remote. Your setup is superb. Great job, and thanks for sharing.

      Thanks so much. Yes I have fished from a bass boat many years and really wanted the option of running a foot pedal and the remote. The foot pedal is truly hands free fishing. I think the Bonafide PWR 129 or the NuCanoe Unlimited are the two top non pedal drive kayaks for motors. I had this motor on a NuCanoe Pursuit and it worked well but the NuCanoe unlimited is a little wider and more stable than the Pursuit I had. With the Bonafide you get more for the money than the Unlimited. It comes with the rudder installed and a front hatch. This is extra on the Unlimited. If your going pedal drive and motor I would look at the Titan X.

    A very clean well thought out efficient setup. I've pretty much have decided on the PWR 129 also and should have one in 3-4 weeks. Haven't decided on the motor setup yet but you have a very hands free operation going on there, I like it.

    I love it man. I can’t wait for next week I pick my PWR129 up on the 1st at Bed Ford boat sales in Morris Illinois. This gets me super excited and stoked for mine. Definitely going to steal a few of your ideas and placements for gear and do the same on mine.

      Why did you go with the pro nav over minn kota’s spotlock?

    • @dudefish1635
      @dudefish1635  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@LoneStarViking90 I bought the Minn Kota power drive almost 4 years ago and spotlock was not available with that motor. I wanted the foot pedal that the power drive has, (left, right instead of heal toe). Plus the ProNav app is awesome in what you can do with the motor on your phone or a ipad.

    • @LoneStarViking90
      @LoneStarViking90 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I gotcha. Yeah I was thinking of doing the dry pod delete plate and putting the pedal over that for a good flat central spot to control from.

    Can you stand, fish and use the trolling motor pedal at same time ( same stuff people do on a bass boat), or you gotta sit bc of the instability of the kayak?

    • @dudefish1635
      @dudefish1635  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes you can stand and fish easily in this kayak. As far as running the trolling motor while standing. I’m not as graceful as I once was so it’s easier for me to use the remote while I stand because the foot pedal is not flush with the floor like in a bass boat. If your balance is good you should be able to do it. Maybe when I get a few more trips on it I will be able to do it as I’ve only been out 1 time so far. The beautiful of it is I can use either at anytime or even my phone to control the trolling motor through the ProNav app. Thanks for the question and I hope this helps.

    Have you figured out a good system to deploy the powerdrive? Seems to be tough since you have to deploy it from the lever in the front

    • @dudefish1635
      @dudefish1635  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the question Tim. When I’m at the boat ramp just before getting in I would engage the lever and position the motor so it was just about to fall forward. Once out on the water one good bump on the head of the motor and it will go down smoothly as I hold the lift line and slowly lower it. When I needed to raise it I would pull the lift line and pull it up as far as possible without it fully locking and place the lift line in a cleat or just wrap the line around something so it wouldn’t fall back down.

    How many hours can you fish on your 50ah battery? Not sure if i should get 50ah or 100ah.

    • @dudefish1635
      @dudefish1635  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have 2 50ah. batteries and have always had them wired together for a total of 100ah. On this build I’m running them separately for less connections. I have only ran them this way once. I fished for about 7 hours and still had power from the first one. If you do a lot of running and travel long distances I would go with 80 or 100ah. If you’re just launching and fishing for 5-6 hours close to the ramp I would go with a 50 or 60. Hope this helps
