ahahahahahaha LOL . I live in Lecce from 1974.
This is this is just the historic center which is also tiny. If you leave the center which is closed to traffic you find queues of cars, road rudeness, potholes, broken pavements, dog shit on the ground and incivility in every place.
Stop watching a video and think it's the only reality. It's a VIDEO.
Leave the historic center and you find shit in Lecce.
      NO POLLUTION IN ITALY? ahahahah

Evening walks in Italy are the best. This is an incredible beautiful city with rich history, belongs to "Magna Graecia" simply means (greater Greece), cities in the region of Southern Italy. These regions were colonized by the Greeks. I love the Churches with the Piazzas near them. Thanks a lot for this incredible tour.

And. . .the award for Best Cinematographic Transition goes to 46:00, where the large gate at the end of a quiet corridor closes to darkness as you approach and a small portal opens and you arrive to new life and light in the street beyond. Fellini would be proud. Another excellent tour!

Lecce is a gem. Love it there. Two places of interest that I didn't see that you noted, is the ancient underground olive oil mill near the Sant'Oronzo Column and also the Jewish Museum in what was formerly a synagogue, and Jewish section of Lecce, near Basilica di Santa Croce. Very interesting history of the Jewish in the Salento. Anyway, I enjoyed the stroll during la passaggiata in this lovely city.

In the video it's not Florence (located in Tuscany Region, Central Italy). In the video the town is Lecce (far south, Apulia Region, Puglia), nicknamed "the Florence of the south".
I've been in Florence and I found the city beautiful, also the surrounding villages are beautiful and peaceful.
About the town of the video, Lecce, never been there.

No matter which region you choose, there are definitely plenty of things to see and try in 1 week, Florence and Tuscany are some of the most beautiful areas to visit. Puglia or Sicily or Sardinia are also great

mmmm no. I'm from Lecce and no one speaks Grico here.
It's not our thing. It is something that happens in some provincial towns, but it has disappeared for many many years now.
there is only one cultural association that keeps this alive, but no one talks about it in Lecce, there is no Grico.

After watching Catania, Palermo, and now Lecce, I have to ask about the graffiti. Is this new? Are the cities even trying to combat it? I believe it’s typically a sign of hopeless youth in struggling economies but it’s so senseless on those beautiful ancient buildings. What do you know of it? Thank you

    • @ProWalks

I don't know the background on that, but it is definitely a problem just about everywhere you go in southern Italy.

It gives you a glimpse of what the rest of the city is like and makes you understand what people you find there. There is a lot of incivility, rudeness, not to mention dog poop on the sidewalks. rubbish almost everywhere.
Lecce, in addition to the historic center, is a chaotic city, poorly designed, rude and full of inefficiencies.
If you go there as a tourist it's beautiful, if you live there it's disgusting.

@@Norman_Petersonyou are a little sad pathetic troll, who just finds solace in posting negativity. Sorry for your sad life but that's no good reason to post idiotic rants. Lecce sure enough has its issues like any other large city in Italy and anywhere else if you ever ventured to travel the world, but saying that its people are rude and disgusting just shows what type of person you are

I am such a big fan of your work on Prowalk Tours and I fully appreciate you need to get paid for your efforts but the level of advertising breaks is excessive in this particular instance.
I had 5 in 15min then the next one was a double ad break 10min later, it so distracts from the excellent tour of this stunningly beautiful Italian town.

Hey, Yeah I get it for sure. I don't understand how TH-cam places the adds on videos. My Otranto video had 1 and this one they placed 14. I deleted 8 and kept 6. Anyway, I'll go space them out a little more.
