What makes Bill Burr so great is that he can talk about this kind of stuff without offending a bunch of people, because he's just being real. He's honest about how he feels and what he experienced without any kind of agenda or deeper message. It's just real talk, and I think almost everyone appreciates that kind of thing when they hear it.
He also mastered the technique of complimented ppl as he jokes about them. Like really the joke is on white ppl don’t know how to dress. And white ppl get scared. So as he’s joking around about blacks it’s kinda washed away with him saying they dress better
He’s the proof you can make jokes about anything, IF your content is smart enough. A white comedian getting on stage going “black people, amirite?” and then go off on a bunch of stereotypes will obviously flop.
He’s making jokes about black people, he’s not laughing at black people.
Oh he most likely offends people but the real treat is he doesn’t give a damn.

It's a mix of good writing, presentation.. But specially being fair. Whoever he talks about, people reacts as .. "Well, it's true!" ... He does also use a lot of "shock-value" on first phrases (something to make the viewer get on the edge of the seat, just two seconds away to getting triggered), then gives you a great, nice though about what he (very simplistically) was saying. He really makes you think, if you have two braincells, while laughing.

The friends he's talking about in this set is Charlie Murphy, Donnell Rawlins and Dave Chappelle. Bill was one of the writers on the Chappelle Show along with the others included the 3 I named, if you go back and watch the show he was in a bunch of the skits like "The racial draft" and "The world series of dice" to name a couple.
And the black girl he dates in his stories is now his wife.

People are quirky, no matter what their ancestry. Bill is a master of pointing out the quirks in a funny manner. We all are wiling to laugh at ourselves when our quirkiness is spotlighted. Mostly because the quirkiness is so human, that even if you are not a member of the group he is talking about, you are able to picture yourself as a member and acting the same. His comedy has broad appeal because we can all picture ourselves as both a member of the group and as the observer.

The reason he doesn't get offensive is that he's laughing with people, not AT people, and it's a crucial difference. Like, Big Bang Theory started off with a bunch of nerd humor, and then lost their nerd audience over the years because the comedy turned more and more to laughing AT us, instead of laughing with us.

Geez, I dont get why some youtubers react to stand up comedy, and feel the need to either talk OVER the comedian, and/or pause fifty times. Lemme ask, if you ever go to a comedy club, let's say you do. Would you tell the person on stage "hey, pls stop joking for a second, I gotta speak my mind to my friend here at the table". No, that wouldn't happen. Just like some people want to dissect everything a comedian says. Comedian says one joke, the 'youtuber' decides to pause and spend the next 1-2 minutes giving their opinion and self-discussing the topic. FFS, do that AFTER, not during.
