    After reading his kit changes in the document it feels like he could play really strong as an Auto attack strength/ protection based character with strong initial hit on the shackles auto canceling with them, and the strong buff from call to arms. Similar to something like an Osiris or a Bellona. I agree on the ttk stuff also. Mainly support when I play and no matter how much defense I get, I just get melted so fast. If you aren't something like Bacchus or Hades where you can use the disrupt and mobility to stay alive, you're just deleted so fast.

    I feel like the ares changes are to make new players able to deal with him better, mainly the ult. They can cleanse it whenever instead of having to know the timing, and to veteran players this makes no difference. Making the ult damage on the landing avoids guaranteed damage which is always lame. As for the 1 and 3 combo, just use it how you want as it gives more options. If you don't like chaining through the fire then just don't, but the option is there. The one thing I can agree on is the 1 should have a dynamic targeter so if you're using fire it will have a bolder opposing color (dark blue?) to enhance visibility.
    Overall I think the changes are positive but will take some getting used to mainly on the part of the ares player

    The only thing I think needed reworking was his 2. (For them to give him an actual ability in it's place) I really dislike when God's have 1 ability that is so lack luster compared to the rest of their kit that it feels like that God has 3 abilities when compared to other Gods.
    A lot of the earlier Smite Gods suffered from this early on, where they had 1 ability in their kit that feels highly situational, or like a nothing butger ability that's just a stim that you could easily incorporate into their other abilities so you could free up an ability slot.
    Obviously that would more than likely require rebalancing the rest of their Abilities but it would allow those Gods yo get new and more interesting abilities in their place. Abilities like Are's 2, Achilles 2, Fenrir 2, Hou Yi 2, Ne Zha 2, Mercury 2, (A lot of God's 2nd abilities in this game ironically) ect all feel like modifiers or stims that can be incorporated into another one of that God's abilities in one way or another, thus opening up room for a newer & cooler flashier lore centric abilities to take their place.
    Other Abilities like Agnis Fumes, Artemis Traps, Ah Puch Corpse explosion, Eset Silence, and Zeus Detonate have always kind of felt underwhelming. Combo abilities that you generally use in conjunction with others. They're all abilities though you could easily rework into other parts of the kit to give these Gods new abilities to make them spicier! 🔥 (Something I really hope the Smite team takes into account).
    Changes like turning Agni's Noxious Fumes into a timed part of his Passive. Having Artemis' Arrow Volley (Suppress the Insolent) form a trap where it lands. Allowing Ah Puch to detonate his corpse explosions with a second button press of the same ability. Giving Eset an actual ability instead of her 3 (Incorporating some of the effects of her current 3 into her 1 if people want to complain), Having Zeus's charges detonate automatically as a passive when they reach 3.
    Changes like these would free up another ability to be added for these Gods, with some balancing of course. Its spicy 🔥 changes like these that i want to see in Smite 2

    yeah honestly ares can 100 to 0 with ease even with a basically full tank build so there isnt really a need to build full damage. also each of his individual chains proc item effects so getting soul devourer is kinda op

    The TTK being this low has completely killed my interest in Smite 2 atm. Not sure what the obsession is with high damage/low health metas in games with long ass death timers, but I just can't watch that and think its fun. 45 second death timers for a 3 second battle, like what are we doing here.

      The low ttk is alot more fun in arena. I think maybe they could increase the time it takes to kill slightly but I don't think across the board its anywhere near as bad as you make it out to be.

      It's better than being poking and roaming like a bot for 15 minutes waiting for someone to make a mistake to engage in fight

    I’m really new and was struggling with ares are you not supposed to 2 first to block some of the damage on carry’s to get in range for the guarantee chain and fire or is damage just broken ?

    They need to do something with this snowball, how fast games can be done, better players or pros I guess will like it but in more casual lobbies idk if its healthy

      I think it’s only noticeable because there’s no MMR system. Or if there is it doesn’t work right. I get 2 or 3 meatballs on my team every game it feels like.

    Is smite 1 going to still be supported or playable?
    This reminds me of when they redid paragons item shop and visuals it killed the entire game

    I regret buying the founders pack for smite 2 idk what it is but I always find myself wanting to go back to smite 1 whenever I play a match in smite 2

    Damage over time effects overall seem very weak, when literally just auto attacking does so much more damage, and burst damage spells let you cast and get out of the way. He'll need a major damage buff if they don't tune down the TTK.

    Im not sure ares was a god that needed a big rework. The 1 working during the 3 is cool but his ult change was terrible.

    saying the fps isn't great while getting 140 to 150 fps is wild lol. Unless you have a monitor with a hertz higher than those numbers you literally can't even display that many frames, let alone notice the drop and that will be true for most people's setups. Even with a high end 200 hz monitor, 150 fps is still considered to be running great.
