Thanks for sharing, and thanks for the GPX! Looking forward to racing Cocodona
I hope to see you!
It was great to meet you at Badger. Best of luck in Cocodona!
Great meeting you too! Congrats on the finish!
Hi Wes! Great videos and love following what you're up to. I'll be running the Ancient Lakes 50k in a couple of weeks and hope to see you there and say hi. It's my first ultra event, so I'm excited to get out there and enjoy it. Hope you have another great week!
-Justin
I hope we get to meet at Ancient Lakes!
Nice week of training and racing! Great job!!! BTW, I'll renew my membership soon :-) Keep up the great content!
You're awesome!
Thanks for the feedback. What you said about Leah nodding off was exactly what I was nervous about. I'd hate for someone I care about to find themselves in a dangerous situation, just because they were trying their hardest to be there for me. We'll be making a plan to manage crew fatigue for sure. I was already thinking that I probably need to do drop bags at aid stations even if I do expect my crew there. You never know when something can go sideways for your crew, and I want to make sure that I have a resupply of all the nutrition and electrolytes that I'm accustomed to from training. Again, thanks so much and hope to see you out there!
YES! Drop bags even if crew is planning to be there. That's what we do.
Great job at Badger! I always struggle with that section coming back through the vineyards and the road, I think the steady running in the warmer afternoon makes it really hard to keep balanced electrolytes. Also, just a thought about your shoulder, I use a Theracane massage device for kind of rolling out all of the muscles in my upper back and shoulders that I can't reach, it has a big hook like a shepherds staff that's great for digging into those muscles. I do a lot of shoveling and upper body work at our farm and it keeps me from developing knots.
Thanks for sharing that you also struggle on the way back through there. Nice to know I'm not alone in that. I have one of those canes, they're great!
Enjoyed as always
Thank you for letting me know, appreciated!
Great stuff Wes...well done with the 50...keep on keeping on...
Thank you Philip!
Hi Wes! Cocodona is gettin closer, are you excited about it? 😊😊 And Are you ok with your little problems at your foot and shoulder? I hope so! 😊😊 My foot is Always better! Anyway, have you other race before Cocodona? 💪🏻 Stay strong! 🍻🇮🇹
Excited, yes! Nervous, double-yes! I'm ok with my little problems, I just hope they stay little and don't cause more struggle at Cocodona! I have a 50K next month, the last big training run before Cocodona. I hope your foot is doing well!
@@wplate My foot Is very well!! I'm so happy and I'm thinking to run a Little race in May, it's a Marathon, but in the Woods and Hills all around Bologna. 😋 I'm Happy to hear that everything it's ok! And I know that your next race Will be Great!! Finger crossed until Cocodona! 💪🏻🤞
Thx Wes‼️
Thank you!
Thanks for another excellent weekly recap and the insight into your training. Great work on the 50! I have noticed you don't use pacers in races where it's an option. Any particular reasons you choose to go without pacers?
Thanks for being a part of the next episode!
Well done @wes
Thank you Melissa!
In the KB halo snippet , you are moving your left side quite a bit different than your right side and winging your elbow more. Maybe that's the cause of the pain.
Thank you for the insight! As you can tell, I don't know what I'm doing. 😂 I need a form consult.
Thank you for documenting your training for this race. I have a question for next week. Do you think it's possible to do this race without a Crew?
Absolutely!!! Aid stations about every 5 miles. Very generous cutoff for 50 milers (32.5 hours same as the 100 mile runners)
@@chadallen3794 I'm talking about the Cocodona. You think it's possible to run the Cocodona without a Crew?
@JohnnyRehm my friend Lance Harpe did Cocadona last year without a crew. He had a great time.
@@chadallen3794 outstanding! Thank you.
Chad gave you the scoop but I jabber on about this for a minute in the next episode. Thanks for being a part of it!
This might just be me but are the cottonwood to lane mountain #2 and sedona to schneebly #15 segments available on that link? It looks like both are skipped. Thanks!
Hi Chadd! I see both those segments. Demo for you... vimeo.com/927772261/83672f986f?share=copy
For some reason Vimeo is tagging it as Mature content 😂
Amazing! Thank you
Do you read biographies of runners or events? Are they any personal favourites?
Thanks for sharing a questiona and bring a part of the April 1st episode!
