There is something so different and so simple about you and your work which sets you apart from the today's rest... You are as classic as this episode.. Thank you for making these lovely videos..
One thing that sets Craig's videos apart is that he doesn't talk too much - the story just seems to unroll with a few important pointers here and there. Excellent viewing.
This just proves it's not all about how many mega pixels or how sharp your lens is, it's all about the person and how they use the tools at hand. I absolutely love the results. I'm a fan.
Thanks for making these vlogs. I used to use a view camera and gave up years ago due to the weight and bulk. This pinhole vid is making me want to rebuild my dark room and start shooting/developing/printing again. Please keep making vids. Thank you.
Apart from the photography element, this vlog is a real nostalgia trip for me as my Grandfather was Town Treasurer here for many years and we spent many happy hours here as children fishing from the pier or looking for Whitby Jet and Ammonites on the shore. Nice also to see some of the less-photographed areas of the town and harbour featured here.
Again, this proves that regardless of what camera one uses, YOU are responsible for taking good pictures. As always, really enjoy watching your vlogs Craig. Stunning images!
I'm impressed by the dedication you showed in climbing the steps, setting up your vlogging camera, and then going back down and re-climbing them for the shot. :) Lovely pictures BTW.
Fascinating! This is something I really need to consider. I love the slower and deliberate process. Thank you! And as always I'm looking forward to the next video...
I enjoy your images way more than all the others out there. You have an "amazing" eye for a shot where others might not see anything. Looking through your shots is inspirational. Thanks.
Brilliant vlog, so much so that I am ordering a Zero 69 straight away. I have a close friend that shoots pinhole and this is right up my alley for shooting landscapes.
Great episode! Just went to zero image site and now in negotiations my business partner (wife) to purchase a 69D. Thank you for your series, it is helping return to my passion.
you are my favourite photography vlog at the moment. only discovered you a few days ago and can't stop watching your vids. I like that you are down to earth and not snobby like some good photographers can be. I love this one as my pinhole camera results were GCSE photography level with a homemade rig. beautiful shots with old fashioned style apparatus. the delivery of your vlogs and editing of the videos is great. could appeal to amateurs but also some pros may learn a different perspective. inspirational stuff. keep up the good work mate! plus the music selection is awesome
Great video. Where've you been it seems ages since your last video I almost had to go and watch one of Thomas Heaton or Paul G Johnson's videos. No only joking I love watching all the 3 of you, it's brilliant to have some fantastic British photographers vlogging for us, thanks for the video's and help Craig. Billy
I shoot vids for my e6 Subscribers too. So you are missing out if you don't subscribe! Sorry for making you have to watch other vloggers though. I hope that didn't affect you too much!!
Beautiful images, they look deliberate and well thought out, like you chose film because it worked the best for the image which is what I love about the process of using film :)
Great images! I have their 6x9 pinhole camera. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed by the results. I’ve gotten sharper images on my homemade 35mm panoramic pinhole camera than I got from the Zero. I may have to try the camera again or maybe replacing its’ pinhole.
Hi Craig, I almost didn't bother to watch this video that would have been my loss. I enjoy your digital videos but this one has really shown your ability/talent. The images are great despite the lack of digital sharpness. Well done, almost makes me want to go back to film...............almost.
I love Whitby so it goes without saying I really enjoyed this vlog Craig, I can't believe how many times I've stood in some of the same places and just failed to spot the potential, i'll know next time, it was also a revelation to find the developer you use is less than 5 minutes drive from my house and I never knew it existed, now that I do, I shall be using them when I have any images I need enlarging, thanks Craig.
Your channel is criminally under subscribed!! You should try make an episode containing a new camera Fuji/Sony. Whether it be a review or test. I know I have found a lot of other channels by searching for a camera I am interested in buying. Other channels have also pointed out how they have spiked in subs since talking about/featuring a certain camera. Maybe worth a try??
How about I stick a Sony label on my camera and then moan about the menu system, would that work?! If i went Fuji or Sony wouldn't that be selling out?
I think I found this channel looking for ND filter tutorials. Having more 'searchable' titles would help and product names might just help - but so might other subjects that are more easily searchable.
How about moaning about the Zero Image menu system instead ;). Never mind, I am already subscribed and addicted since your style of photography matches my preferences approximately 99%.
Fascinating, I love the cable release mechanism on the camera! Some great images with the enormous depth of field you get with a pinhole. Also interesting to see how you scan the negs.
absolutely great images. No point making a diy pine hole camera as they do not turn out with this type of precision. I will be investing in this type of camera. Thanks for sharing
Thank you. Very helpful as I have just bought a 2000 DeLuxe. Could you tell me, please, what frame were you using with your Epson V750? Mine did not come with this and I find the ones supplied for 6 by 6 negs poor.
Fantastic images, every one of them was beautiful and the camera itself was a object d'art. I'm giving some consideration into getting one of the wet trays for scanning they look great for the job.
Craig, I'd say you're a Digital Man with an Analog Heart. As you know, I'm a Digital Man re-discovering my Analog Roots. Hope to see more film videos and your new Hasselblad soon. Stuart
Just found your channel and I love it. Makes me want to continue my project of building a 4x5 pinhole camera. In this video you said it was 25mm equivalent. Do you know how they work that out? I've been trying to figure out what size box I would need to make for my camera! Thank you
Fascinating vlog. It makes me want to try the Zero Image camera for myself. I've seen other vlogs on this camera but for some reason, your images taken on this camera appear far, far better than anyone elses? I've noticed that ZI are doing a 35mm version which sounds interesting. As other has commented, I like your laid back vlogging style and what a good eye for a shot you have! I've just subscribed and look forward to trawling through your back catalogue.
Hi, excellent video. I like your photos and your passion. I have a quick question because I would like to try to scan wet as you done: you are using on epson scanner a film holder that I never seen before could you tell me more? Regards.
I do some digital pinhole photography sometimes but it seems it doesn't get as perfect as this. i know there must be some blur after all, but the sharpness in the images I get is barely a fraction of those in the video. Maybe minimizing the images for the video is a factor? Not sure. I realized though that the pinhole cap i have is not quite optimum for my camera when taking those various equations into account.
I have to tell you that your content is excellent. I have reduced the numbers of photographers I regularly watch to 3. I consider you as well as Sean Tuck and @heatonthomas as my go to creators. Great job! I learn from you every time you post. Cheers. Mark from Vancouver Island @walkacrossitall on instagram.
Haven't been to Whitby, yet, but would love to go some day. The town looks remarkably quiet, did you go there out of season or just go out very early to do the vlog, or both. Either way another great inspirational video 👍👍
I have a Zero 2000 (one of the first if I remember correctly) that I've never used. I'm curious as to how you frame your shots. I noticed in this video you looking through something you were holding on top of the camera. Is this a framing aide? I've got some ancient 120 film in the freezer, maybe it's time I dug it out and tried our my Zero 2000?
Hey! Thanks for your amazing videos. Just one quick question: where do you send your 120mm films for developing? I have been struggling with colour 120mm film developing here in Cambridge, every lab that I send the film to messes up somehow (although they do a fine job with 35mm film).
Hmmm...Lots of people saying how wonderful the images are...reminds me of the " King and his new clothes ". Lets face it, good compositions but the quality of the images - focus, detail etc - leaves a lot to be desired. Reminds me of the sort of quality that I used to get with my ancient box brownie ! Still, enjoyed the video and no doubt I will get a lot of comments.
What's with this new trend...top TH-cam vloggers using ancient technology? Thomas Heaton using a large format camera and now you with a pinhole? Where's the fun part in doing something more complicated? The images are great though. Really enjoyed a walk around the beautiful city on a rainy day. It has been a looong time since I saw a drop falling from the sky. I live in Saudi Arabia...😀
Not so much a trend. I have been using film on and off for 25years or more. However these three vlogs are the first time i have videoed myself using them. As for complicated, digital is far more complicated. How can you get any easier than a box with a hole?! Glad you liked it though.
e6 Vlogs okay, I think I read first comment wrong. I took it as 'Why not use something more complicated (for fun)?' whereas it seems it was meant as 'Why do something more complicated?'. Anyway... using variety of cameras is always interesting and instructive (and good to see some more of your whole process too).
Just shows you that having a good eye is more important than the gear you've got with you!
His eye is really good isn't it. I've been thinkin this meself. His feeling for composition very good.
Thank you both.
Very entertaining video, with beautiful photos and relaxing music. Couldn’t wish for more…..😊😅!
Vos photographies sont superbes ! Félicitations à Vous. Amitiés à Vous, Philippe.
Fantastic video and beautiful images. Thanks for sharing your work.
Kudos on a great video, I think a Zero Image 2000 camera is on my shopping list for 2022...Merry Christmas from the States.
Good work. I find pinhole camera images very pleasing to the eye. Something ethereal about them. Thanks.
Inspiring from the photography, mood and music. 6x9 is on my birthday gift list.
You are the best. Very underrated. People missing this don't know what they are missing.
You're making me blush Himanshu, but keep talking...!
This just proves it's not all about how many mega pixels or how sharp your lens is, it's all about the person and how they use the tools at hand. I absolutely love the results. I'm a fan.
Couldn't have said it better myself Tony.
easily one of the best photography channels out there. Brilliant.
Thanks for making these vlogs. I used to use a view camera and gave up years ago due to the weight and bulk. This pinhole vid is making me want to rebuild my dark room and start shooting/developing/printing again. Please keep making vids. Thank you.
Beautiful 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Always a pleasure to watch
Superb presentation👍

Another brilliant video Craig. Please keep them coming,
Again, this proves that regardless of what camera one uses, YOU are responsible for taking good pictures.
As always, really enjoy watching your vlogs Craig. Stunning images!
Another great video and what a lovely location.
Very inspiring.
Fantastic shots here. Just fantastic.
Love this! Thank you for sharing!! I love my Zero Image!!
Absolutely breathtaking!!! Whitby is a photographers paradise and you did amazing!!! I love the simplicity of the pinhole camera.
I'm impressed by the dedication you showed in climbing the steps, setting up your vlogging camera, and then going back down and re-climbing them for the shot. :)
Lovely pictures BTW.
Exactly! Thanks for appreciating unseen aspects of vlogging!
Lovely photos. Much as I love digital it's nice to see that film isn't completely dead!
Absolutely wonderful pictures! :)
great composing and fantastic photos
Very interesting camera. Shows a dedication to the subject and a huge amount of thought process in handling something like that.
Beautiful photographs! You have such a gift for composition.
Just stumbled upon this channel. Have watched a few videos, awesome images, and love walking along. Thanks!
Thanks.
Great video, I just love the zero 2000.
Brilliant! Find your blogs inspirational and just makes me want to get out there more! Cheers!
My mom was born there, loved getting to see it through your images!
Excellent! Beautiful images, and thanks for showing your scanning process. inspired me to dig out my Zero Image camera and shoot some film.
Thanks Will. Good luck with your results.
Superb video and photos.
Brilliant vlog, so much so that I am ordering a Zero 69 straight away. I have a close friend that shoots pinhole and this is right up my alley for shooting landscapes.
Thanks James. Hope you get some great results.
I just found your channel... what an inspirational video! Not only was this video a joy to watch, you've got some amazing images as well. Thank you.
Great episode! Just went to zero image site and now in negotiations my business partner (wife) to purchase a 69D. Thank you for your series, it is helping return to my passion.
Cheers Biff. Seems there's going to be a lot of new people shooting pinhole. Excellent!
Thank you much for the video, neat .
this was a great watch, thank you! just ordered my own zero pinhole and can't wait to get going on it! Grateful of Norfolk ;-)
I'm very happy that youtube suggested me this video of yours. I am subscribed.
Great video, coupled with some very strong images 👌
Great photography!

Thank you very much. Now, i didn't pay you to say all that did I!
Great images. I wasn't expecting such a good quality.
Some beautiful images!
wow!
Just discovered this video. Well done! Enjoyed it thoroughly, in fact I was inspired. As a consequence I have ordered my own Zero 69 Deluxe!
That’s a very sharp pinhole camera!
Woah, those images look super dreamy ! Nice work !
Great video.

Long time viewer, first time comment. Brilliant video. The ending song - love it and added it to my playlist. Thank you.
Hi Craig, I live in Whitby, NZ. This is one of my most favourite of your vlogs, so serene and calm. Cheers Paul
So impressed with these shots, beautifully put together and taken with the pinhole camera just makes it more impressive :)
NicholasEJones Thankyou Nicholas
Beautiful images, they look deliberate and well thought out, like you chose film because it worked the best for the image which is what I love about the process of using film :)
Exactly that Tom.
Another excellent video. Are u going to make anymore pinhole videos?
Great images!
I have their 6x9 pinhole camera. Unfortunately I was underwhelmed by the results. I’ve gotten sharper images on my homemade 35mm panoramic pinhole camera than I got from the Zero. I may have to try the camera again or maybe replacing its’ pinhole.

Thank you. I like to go back now and again. Go on, you know you want to...!
Craig your such a pro which ever camera you use . Some great image's there.
Very nice, Sir!

sean freeman Thanks Sean. Glad you gained some new knowledge, including what's in your own neighbourhood! 😉 Tempted to have a go yourself?

Fantastic! Could you kindly explain how to set the appropriate exposure with this camera? Many thanks.
Thanks for the great contents! Subscribed and following.
Thank you. Very helpful as I have just bought a 2000 DeLuxe. Could you tell me, please, what frame were you using with your Epson V750? Mine did not come with this and I find the ones supplied for 6 by 6 negs poor.
Long time no see👀 brilliant
That is not a camera, that is a magic box in your hands.
I've been eyeing one of these for awhile, but always wondered about the clarity of the images?
Fantastic images, every one of them was beautiful and the camera itself was a object d'art. I'm giving some consideration into getting one of the wet trays for scanning they look great for the job.
Thanks Mark. Yes, wet scanning is definitely the way to go.
Craig, I'd say you're a Digital Man with an Analog Heart. As you know, I'm a Digital Man re-discovering my Analog Roots. Hope to see more film videos and your new Hasselblad soon. Stuart
Ah yes, the Hasselblad! I've been looking on ebay. I'm tempted!
Just love your blogs, I watch all of them. But I am sure I am not the only one who would like to see all images both “pre” and “post” processing
Just found your channel and I love it. Makes me want to continue my project of building a 4x5 pinhole camera.
In this video you said it was 25mm equivalent. Do you know how they work that out? I've been trying to figure out what size box I would need to make for my camera!
Thank you
Interesting!
I never knew that pinhole photos are that sharp
Great vlog!!
One question: What kind of fluid do you use to fix the film on the plate befor scanning it? Is it alcohol?
Hi Craig, what is going on at 8:53? I've never seen anyone use a liquid for scanning. Thanks, and wonderful video!
Using fluid is very common actually. It's used to keep the film flat. Most commercial scans will use some sort of fluid to hold the transparency.
I see. So what is the fluid, and what is the plate that you were placing the film ontop of? Thank you!
Joe H The glass plate comes with the scanner. The fluid is...scanning fluid.
Fascinating vlog. It makes me want to try the Zero Image camera for myself. I've seen other vlogs on this camera but for some reason, your images taken on this camera appear far, far better than anyone elses? "Doesn't do 4k, which is a shame" - have you tried Zorki-4k Soviet rangefinder? It says "4k" right in the name!
The best fish and chips I’ve ever had was in Whitby!
You have done very excellence job so far, you have educated me alot, Where do yo get your film proceed, thank you.
Peak of Sheffield
thank you
Hi, excellent video. I like your photos and your passion. I have a quick question because I would like to try to scan wet as you done: you are using on epson scanner a film holder that I never seen before could you tell me more? Regards.
Domenico Pescosolido That wet scan plate holder comes with the 750 scanner. Or it did when I bought it many years ago!
I do some digital pinhole photography sometimes but it seems it doesn't get as perfect as this. i know there must be some blur after all, but the sharpness in the images I get is barely a fraction of those in the video. Why is it easier to scan Portra than B&W?
I should have watched a little more of the video before asking my question. Maybe there's one in my box, yet to be opened.
Craig, great video...can you make any recommendations for the Mylar and scanning fluid? also did you use the Epson scanning software?
Just one question, what were you putting on the negs prior to scanning? Great shots, fab camera.
Scanning fluid. Helps keep the negative flat and 'bonds' the film between the scanning holder and scanning film sheet.
I have a Zero 2000 (one of the first if I remember correctly) that I've never used. I'm curious as to how you frame your shots. Peak Imaging, Sheffield
Do you always wet scan your negs? Where did you get your wet scan holder from?
Awesome trilogy of vids by the way :-)
Yes. Came with the Epson scanner. And thank you!

Well, Roy, I guess they definitely don't look digital! Image quality isn't everything. It's the look and feel of the results that I enjoy.
