As a swede, I am so fucking proud of this show. Now lemme list some of the things I adore about it... -the casts chemistry -the fact that the story is not revolving around their sexualities -the fact that they included the lgbtq+ community with respect -they accepted the fact that some people prefer to be closeted sometimes -the real skin with acne -all the adorable moments Simon and Wilhelm share -the fact that the characters are not perfect people, as well as the main characters. They have identifiable flaws which makes them all so much better -being able to relate to the characters -the portrayal of mental challenges especially with August -the amazing acting, hello!?!?!? -the fact that they did not give Wilhelm a label when it comes to his sexuality -the fact that the two of them (Simon and Wilhelm) have to go through struggles together to help build their currently imperfect relationship -the fact that they included other languages and definitely a lot more. Feel free to add to the list.

I could list a million reasons and go on a whole rant about why this show is so good, but I'm just gonna leave it at amazing writing and amazing directors, amazing actors with incredible chemistry, great storyline and such realistic characters and stories, it's bringing up important issues like mental health and social class, aaaand also it has a GREAT soundtrack haha!!
One of the things I love the most about the show is how the characters are not identified by their sexualities nor troubled by them. The main problem focuses on being a royal, not gay or anything. Also, it is very realistic (quite funny when you think about its about a prince but..) it shows real feelings with genuine problems. I would like to thank to all crew, directors, writers,s and talented actors and actresses for making this show happen. Also, a thank you to Netflix, too! I hope 2nd season gets confirmed.
This as a "I don't do labels" trope annoys the hell out of me, being pan, and loving bi+ characters actually stating their sexualities, but there's absolutely something to be said for having characters who are young, questioning, figuring things out, and maybe a label isn't so much a priority as the feelings they're sorting through. That sort of representation was really important to me at various stages of questioning.

However for some people labeling themselves are extremely stressful and its okay not to label themselves. I think we also needs shows that would show that its okay to not label yourself too.

But not to much seasons. Most shows getting worse after two seasons (mostly because of too much Drama and changes just to keep the story going). I would be satisfied with a beautiful season 2 and a Happy ending for them.

I thought this show would be like Elite, but I was completely wrong! The story was beautiful and it was refreshing to see REAL teens without the perfect skin.
But Spanish teens have perfect skin! Us Irish aren't so lucky. If we don't have spots we turn tomato red at the first hint of sunshine. Hell we even burn from the wind😭.

I loved this show so much. Mostly because they portrayed Simon and Wille with passion and respect, they were able to really pass that feeling about the first love, all the nervousity and drama that revolves it. The confusion that Wille felt about his sexuality was so god damn well played, Edvin is really a great actor. Also, can we talk about how everyone had real skin? It's so rare to see actors with acne in shows, I appreciated that. I really hope that netlix renew for a season 2 because my god, I'm living for it.
i mean, it's easy to have teen shows/films where everyone has super clear skin when your actors are in their 30s like the US does... i guess that on this side of the ocean not only do we tend to cast people who are teenagers/early 20s to play high schoolers so they actually look the part (i think omar the oldest of the five? mains and he's only 22, couldn't find info about how old the actress who plays sara is tho) but we also don't really care that much/accept that teens have acne and that's life+caking foundation on is only going to make it worse

@@emilyv.2040 well there are exceptions of course like the actors in derry girls were already in their mid 20s~early 30s when the show started but the casting directors (and the makeup+costumes depts, surely) did a great job because they really do look like kids lol. but yeah, as far as i'm aware/noticed in my own country and the few others i've seen things from, teens are very rarely played by people who graduated high school 10 years before x) ah so yeah, she's also a kid/age appropriate for the role

Honestly one of the best series I've watched on netflix. Love how they made everything so realistic, but showing skin texture and actually hiring a cast that look like the age of characters. And not just hiring supermodel but just normal people.

This show is an absolute fucking masterpiece. The acting is incredible and the show feels so raw and real. It’s so refreshing to watch, definitely one of the best shows ever produced. This is literally one of the best shows ever. I agree with every comment that praises the actors, storylines, scenes, basically everything! It all felt so real and not forced. I’m sad there were only 6 episodes and that’s why it was a bit fast paced, but I still enjoyed it so much! Every character is different, but so well portrayed and I just want to see more✨ Even if it had drama, it wasn’t a poor kind of drama. There were real problems, issues, topics, and all I can do is recommend it. (Forgot to mention the epic romance? They’re already living in my mind 24/7)

The two of them have such amazing chemistry together. I think it's why the highly emotional scenes work so well for the two of them. Their genuine feelings really make them shine on screen together. The scene in the locker room where they are comforting each other is so powerful. I've watched the episode several times, and I get choked up every time I watch that scene.
Here I was scrolling through Netflix and thought young royals was about young kids acquiring the throne as Kings or Queens, which piqued my interests. But little did I know, I've stumbled upon an even greater interest. AND ITS GAEEEEEEEEEE

@@emilyv.2040 well there are exceptions of course like the actors in derry girls were already in their mid 20s~early 30s when the show started but the casting directors (and the makeup+costumes depts, surely) did a great job because they really do look like kids lol. but yeah, as far as i'm aware/noticed in my own country and the few others i've seen things from, teens are very rarely played by people who graduated high school 10 years before x)
ah so yeah, she's also a kid/age appropriate for the role

The characters are so authentic and charismatic and likeable it's insane! Ecxept for the "villains" who are very non-likeable but I mean that's how it should be!

Honestly one of the best series I've watched on netflix. Love how they made everything so realistic, but showing skin texture and actually hiring a cast that look like the age of characters. And not just hiring supermodel but just normal people.
Young Royals was such a nice surprise. The chemistry between the two leads is just insane. Netflix, you better give us a second season.

This is literally one of the best shows ever. I agree with every comment that praises the actors, storylines, scenes, basically everything! It all felt so real and not forced. I’m sad there were only 6 episodes and that’s why it was a bit fast paced, but I still enjoyed it so much! Every character is different, but so well portrayed and I just want to see more✨ Even if it had drama, it wasn’t a poor kind of drama. There were real problems, issues, topics, and all I can do is recommend it.

1:58 For those of you that don't know, Omar's been in a boyband for most of his career (2013-2018) so he had to dance A LOT and he's also Latin american so he was actually on Sweden's got talent as a kid and danced there as well
The two of them have such amazing chemistry together. I think it's why the highly emotional scenes work so well for the two of them. Their genuine feelings really make them shine on screen together. The scene in the locker room where they are comforting each other is so powerful. I've watched the episode several times, and I get choked up every time I watch that scene.
