I'm planning a ride to Jupiter next month, and since it's solar powered, it should be able to stay charged and continue to track my route even in space. Route tracking is crucial. Just incase I forget something up there and have to head back. Plus, the included silicone case would come in handy when riding through debris. Don't you think?
For me, this device would be a GAME CHANGER. I have Type 1 Diabetes, If I am not constantly keeping track of my blood sugar levels, my blood sugar has the chance to go very low or even high, which can cause severe complications in health, especially while riding a bicycle at high speeds. This Garmin has the ability to connect to my Dexcom continuous glucose monitor, which will tell the Garmin what my blood sugar is at any given moment. This piece of technology would allow me to be able to keep an eye on my blood sugar levels just by looking down at the screen while riding. This will help me know when I need to eat more sugar/carbs or when I need to give myself more Insulin. At the moment, I either have to deal with getting off my bike and looking at my phone to see what my glucose levels are at or I end up feeling really bad out of nowhere on my bike and needing to stop my ride and eat food and wait until my glucose levels come back to normal. This is also a pain when riding with groups as they will normally end up having to wait for me to get my body back to being ready to ride. Also when my levels go out of wack, I become a bit delirious and foggy brained, which is not good when riding a bicycle fast or when you are trying to navigate from point A to point B, this device will help me by adding a nice large screen with a highly detailed map to help me get where ever I might need, especially in a state of delusion. This device will allow me to Safely ride with more confidence on my journeys since I will always be informed and I can stay on top of my diabetes with greater ease than ever before. I've been loving the information and entertainment you provide on your channel as I learn more and more about bikepacking, which is something I really want to get into, But for now, I'll Gravel/MTB riding.
I'm sorry for possibly being ignorant but why won't you mount your phone to the bike so you can easily see it? (I'm also wondering why the device exists at all if phones generally have better HW anyway)
Summers here in New Delhi have gone to the extreme. There's not been a day in the last 15ish weeks when the temperatures haven't reached at least 40°C. And given that I'm training for some ultra-endurance epics, I end up drinking 10L of liquids. An Edge 1040 Solar will live the life it's been promised if it comes to India. Long distances, strong heat, navigation in crazy traffic; it will excel here. And obviously, the coolness factor will help me save some 10W. And I shall sing-- Here comes the sun ding ding ding ding Here comes the sun and I say It's alright.
Hey Francis. My wife surprised me with a Garmin Edge 1000 in December ‘15 for Xmas. I shed a tear as it was a huge surprise, a huge cost and as a none cyclist she had spent time researching and finding the perfect present. Fast forward to now and the device just doesn’t hold charge and is not usable for anything more than 90 mins. I would like to win this as quite simply, as a dad of 2, it’s a luxury I’d not be able to afford but would love as my Edge 1000 supported my love of cycling, love of data and with the mapping element allowed me to be safe and explore roads and areas I wouldn’t have been able to before. Francis (and somebody who’s not you but hopefully selects me) please make my day.
Hi Francis, I am an avid cyclist that spends most of my weekends on my bike and over the past few years I have been trying to convince my girlfriend at the time and now wife to start cycling with me as something we can do together, I finally achieved this great feat after emigrating to the UK from South Africa this year my wife has decided to start cycling with me and I would love for you or the person you assign this wonderfully difficult task, to award me with this brand new Garmin 1040 Solar as it will enable me to purchase the new Garmin Varia RCT715 (Garmin is life) that you featured not too long ago and keep her safe, I have the Garmin 530 but she unfortunately has the Edge 130 with a 2 hour battery life ☹, We love your content and the people you feature in your videos keep up the great work and peddle on.
Ordered my first bike since I was a kid over lockdown, thanks to watching your epics across Vietnam & Australia. Currently my method of riding involves stopping at every corner and checking my phone so not the fastest. Aiming to do the coast2coast with my uncle later this summer and potentially some other "epics" in the near future. Would love to test out how good the solar panels are in the sunny NE of England. Thanks.
Man this is so cool, really impressed how technology brings professional training every time a little bit closer to amateurs. I think such device is really substantial for aspiring bikers and price doesnt seems actually that bad when you think how many opportunities it gives
Hey 36 years old brand new to road cycling and absolutely loving the videos and the advice has been invaluable from the bike fit Tuesdays and I have family over in Australia so loved the bike packing tour! So much a friend an I are planning one later in the year (Tynemouth - Edinburgh via all the castles on the coast). I'm Newcastle based so would love to pop in an meet you guys in The Backyard Bike Shop get some tips/servicing and maybe pick up test/film some footage of the unit on our trip (fingers crossed)
honestly been going hard on a cycling career for a year and got hit by a car recently... this would be a lovely head unit for the new bike I now i ride!!!!!!!! thanks for all your content thought regardless, absolutely motivating and I just love how much you want to just hop on a bike!
Sadly I lost a friend to cancer last week planning a charity ride from London to Mt Ventoux for him in the next year and need something with proper GPS and long battery! If I won I would donate the cost of the Garmin to his charity as I would probably have bought one anyway. Thanks mate!
Would absolutely love to get that Garmin! I make Cycling content as well and I always record my Strava and control my GoPro on my phone! Tends to die quick, eager to get a head unit but money is tight as an independent filmmaker!
I currently have an Edge 130, so I'm already in the ecosystem. But it holds me back massively on larger adventures because of battery life and navigation without maps. I think I could attack much bigger rides with a Garmin with over 40 hours of battery life. And I would be giving my "old" 130 away to ether my father or a friend of mine so it would be a massive upgrade for two people.
I currently use the Garmin 130 however, I can not navigate longer routes unfortunately with because the battery does not last so long :/. I want to go this summer the first time bikepacking and already have everything except a new headunit. I'm 17 years old, can unfortunately not afford a new one. I would be really happy if I would win
After getting into biking with a couple of second hand bikes in lockdown I recently purchased my first brand new bike in a long long time. Living in the Lake District means great rides but at times extrememly difficult navigation with regular stops to check my phone. I'd love a Garmin! Love the channel - you're literally the only TH-cam channel I subscribe to!
I am a huge fan of your channel. It's been my go-to ever since I got my road bike a couple of years ago. When I started cycling I promised myself I'd treat myself to something nice when I graduated uni, and yesterday I got my Architecture degree! It would be an amazing graduation present.
My dad has been biking for about 3 years and it has helped him lose about 75 pounds. He got me into riding earlier this year, it is a great way for us to catch up and spend time together now that i have moved out after college. I would love to give this to him since he has been riding for so long without any sort of head unit.
I am a student who is finishing his studies. This summer I am planning with my partner to do our first bikepacking around Denmark. Today we only have our phones, the Garmin would be the ideal solution to plan this trip with peace of mind.
Thank you for the video.. My wife's birthday is coming up, she is new to cycling and currently training for a century ride. This would be an awesome gift.
I’m a newer avid cyclist only for 1.5 years now and this Garmin head unit will help me get better. Plus I’m Canadian and no one has one anything from Canada in a long time. 🇨🇦 😒🙏
Oh man I’d love that new head unit. I did a 262km charity ride at the weekend raising money on behalf of one of our club riders who is currently undergoing Leukaemia treatment. It was a long day out but i think I’ve caught the long riding bug and my old Garmin needs charging every 2 hours or so so this one would make it so much easier. Keep up the good work Francis 🤙🏻
Having a good cycle computer helps you a lot and makes the experience so much better. Now this is even solar powered. One thing less you have to worry about when going bike packing. Everyone needs one of these :)
Fracis, your channel is definitely one of the best that cycling youtube can offer. I really enjoy quality+effort that you put in to make better content everyday. I would love to have garmin device as I am trying to get better mental health with cycling and challenge myself to ride more!
Oh yes please! I am lucky enough to have got a Garmin Solar Instinct 2 for my birthday and would LOVE a new head unit to go with it. Would stop me getting lost when i got out on my adventures in the woods! Thanks for all the great videos, helped keeps me sane, especially during covid!
The Garmin Edge 1040 Solar is very impressive, USB-C and the ability to recharge while cycling thanks to a solar panel. Such a device would come in handy for me during longer bike rides with my friends. The person you choose will certainly be happy to receive such a gift. Cycling with my friends always gives me a lot of joy, even in difficult moments, when three years ago I was diagnosed with melanoma, I did not give up and thanks to cycling I did not fall into depression. After immunotherapy, I have side effects of secondary adrenal insufficiency and hypothyroidism, but I am alive and have to remember to take my medication before cycling. Best regards to all cyclists.
Last summer I bought my first ever bike and started cycling as I was thinking about quitting my previous job and starting new career and need some alone time outdoors. Recently, I moved to a different town and found a new job. Just yesterday my old running watch battery life was too short for recording the ride. It would be great to be able to record longer rides (for my standard, anyway). Love the videos! Thank you.
I live in Newburn so it would save you a fortune on postage. Always had Garmin edge devices but never been able to afford the top notch model. Watched your content since Project USA days, pleased you moved up here to showcase our outstanding cycling playground here in the North East.
I just got back from my first ever bike packing trip in Norman, France and am hooked. Planning my next one before my legs have even recovered and that Garmin would make those rides even more incredible
No Rules, Just Ride! Just grabbed my first Attacus jersey the other day, super pumped about it! It’s coming all the way to Ontario, Canada. As a new-ish and definitely still learning cyclist - any new cycling toys are totally worth it. And while I’m not headed to Jupiter with all its available solar energy; I will be attempting my first 100 K this summer and would love to have this insanely awesome head unit! Cheers!
I live in Scotland and anybody who has ever been to Scotland know that it is sunny ALL the time, therefore a solar head unit would mean less charging( cost of living savings right there) and would be an ideal companion on my rides😂😂😂keep up the good work👍🚴♀️🏴
Wow, that is so exciting. I would love one for the freedom of being able to cycle on long trips for days without worry about charging and therefore without worry about getting lost. During lockdown I dreamt of and planned long bike packing rides. This is something that would help convert those dreams into reality and into memories. At my age (turning 65) I need to get on and do this as soon as I can.
Well it’s been just over a month since I broke my femur coming off the bike. I’m meant to by riding across Australia with a team in September - 4200km. I’m not so sure I’ll be capable of doing that full route but I’m damn committed to doing as much as my body can handle once I can get on the bike. There’s plenty of sun to be had on those rides and a Garmin like this one would be a real treat for this ride and many more big epics I want to do. Anywho, enough of the sob story. Always love the content Francis and thanks for being such an engaging creator and looking forward to more great vids to come!
Im just getting back into cycling following a devastating loss of my hair to alopecia at the start of the year and feeling really self conscious about going out on the bike and stopping at cafes. Finally feeling more myself and really would be over the moon with getting the chance to win this new head unit! Keep up the good work with the videos! All the best
I love this! My boyfriend is looking to get his first bike this summer and I feel like this would be super helpful to him since he is planning to bike all around our country. I would love to get him one of these!
I'm currently preparing for my first ever bikepacking trip. I haven't yet sorted out how I'm going to navigate, so this would be an amazing boost to my preparations, and set me up for many more trips in the future. Thanks for all your videos, they're super helpful for a novice like me. 👍
I'll ride my self-built gravel bike from my hometown of Innsbruck to Vienna during August. It's not only my first time riding that many kilometers all alone but also my first time riding a custom diy bikebuild (steel mtb frame to cantilever 2x11 105 groupset). So having a reliable, long lasting companion in form of this new Garmin Edge with me would be absolutely perfect!!
Injured my back rowing and fell into a rut of not being able to do the sport I love. So I found a new one. Cycling has given me the opportunity to explore so many places and I've been planning my first long cycle tour along Eurovelo 6 and the Garmin 1040 Solar would be the perfect companion for long days in the saddle. Francis your videos are fantastic and are getting me through my Masters dissertation. Keep up the great work!
Hi, I have just started a summer plan to get in cycling shape and I usually end up lost in my rides due to not having a way of tracking them. I feel very inspired by your videos and I just wanted to tell you how much I have been enjoying your cycling to switzerland series. I have lived there when I was 2 so I can't wait to get back. It would be the dream to go back in my beloved bicycle. So I could really use garmin's help. :)
Going on a bikepacking trip with my father this summer. He still needs a head unit to guide us around. This one would be perfect, not having to charge it every few days and not worry about the battery life! The trip would even become better
I'm pretty new to road cycling but I'm hooked on the challenge and sense of adventure you get from dragging yourself up some lonely hills in the middle of nowhere. About to invest in my first decent road bike and I'm stoked to head off on some new challenges. I'd love a head unit as, since I don't have one, having to constantly stop and look for moss on the northerly side of trees in order to navigate my way back home is really impacting my average speed - and sure isn't it always the way, when you actually need a bit of moss to help guide you home, you can't find any. It's become a bit of a hazard too as once an angry farmer called Derek fired a shot at me because he thought I was a mischievous fox looking to eat all his chimkens, but I was simply looking for directions back to the A46. It's true what they say about farmers from Gortahork. Would love a GPS please and thanks. Help make a little man's dream come true and his calves to grow majestic and powerful like our friend Francis Cade xo
I've been putting together my first road bike and soon to be first bike packing bike as well and this head unit would be so good for my bike packing trip of Vancouver Island I'm hoping to do this summer. Trained all winter while watching your bike packing videos for inspiration and I'm saving my pennies to get a tail fin rack. The Garmin 1040 solar would be such a nice upgrade to my setup.
I want the Garmin 1040 Solar because I just bought a Brompton, a first for me. Love it, and I am just getting back into bicycling. AND I am the VERY worst person in the entire world at directions. True, ask my wife, my kids and my friends! Great video, glad I chanced on it, thanks.
We live in sunny South Africa and with all the load shedding (scheduled power cuts), charging our devices for the next ride sometimes does not complete before a ride. With all the sun we get here, this unit will help to always have the headunit ready for some fun.
Thanks so much for all your videos! I can't stop watching them. I'm doing the IndiPac 2023 and the solar garmin would sure come in handy as i ride through the Nullabor just as you did.
I need this ‘hands solar’ technology in my life. I am that rider who always rides further than planned and generally has to turn around and head home because my head unit is running low.!! Great content Francis thoroughly enjoyed the Bike Packing to Switzerland series.
Thanks for the opportunity… Gives me an opportunity to experience a top spec garmin and at last a screen with maps I can actually see without glasses to get me home ❤
Thank you for the head unit! As money and gratitude are the 2 incentives to provide goods and services and purchase is not an option here the gift might appropriately go to the person with gratitude. Thank you again! I appreciate YOU, your service & your gift of the Garmin head unit to me 😜
Over the moon to finally see a top notch solar feature in the headunits from Garmin! I have some massive epics planned this year, some coast to coast challenges in a day and multiday epics, and it’s hard graft as an amateur getting hold of these premium pieces even without every Tom, Dick and Harry trying to get one! 1040 solar is a must for big adventurer Please pick me 🙏
I’m lifeguard from Poland, every day I’m riding to work by bike and sometimes I need map because I work in many locations it would be helpful to ride on time and save people life on swimming areas, and after work it would be great tool to do some serious training, explore new destinations. It will help to become stronger and faster on every next ride.
Hi, Francis. Been a subscriber since the pandemic started. And I must say you're one the few great content creator that inspires people to ride bikes and have fun. I planned to buy a cycling comp last year but financial problem and other stuff came in to my life. So I just recently bought a basic head unit 'cos you know I can't afford buying one this(Garmin) masterpiece. My problem with my cycling comp I got is that the battery lifespan. It usually fails me when I'm having long rides. So winning one of this will be a great help and a dream come true. Cheers as always!
Man who wouldn't want that unit :) I have been a long time commuter but have actively biking starting pandemic. Not hardcore like many but getting better. BTW missed meeting you all in SF when you made the North America trip! All the best for who ever is chosen 🙏 it'll be me
Supported you since near the start, and shared how much we look forward to your videos, even wished you a speedy recovery when you broke your arm in USA racing a crit. What a treat that Garmin would be 😉
As an aging physics teacher who now rides to work, I would love to win the head unit. I could collect data to use with my students. It would provide real-world data for calculation of distance/speed/time problems as well as power problems. Thank you, and Garmin, for giving away what appears to be an awesome piece of tech.
hi Francis! First of all, I love your videos. I've been riding my road bike for six months now and I've been able to use a lot of your tips and tricks from your channel. I didn't start half a year ago on my own, I started cycling with 3 friends. Within a month from 5/07-10/07, the 3 of us have booked a trip to the Vosges in France, as we are poor students (and because we spent al our savings on the bike) we are not able to buy an expensive garmin. In the mountains it is quite necessary to have a garmin, that is why we decided to hire one, so that we at least have someone with GPS. Now we would love to win your garmin edge 1040. Of course we will keep you updated on our experience with the 1040 in the Vosges. thanks in advance and keep on riding :)
I love the video. This yeqr me and my mates we are going on a one month bike tour to morroco. Arroung 3000km of baking and one of those would do a great work when taking this trip. Good luck with your biking everybody :).
Keep the great content coming. I'm uplifting my life and moving from Scotland to Canada on my bike. The 1040 Solar will help me fend off bears, moose and any other wildlife Canada throws at me plus it might help me get from A to B.
Hey Francis, I am a Masters student who got into cycling in order to free my mind from the stress during exam seasons. Since then, I have gotten increasingly competitive, both on Strava, as well as with my previous self. This summer, I would like to do a 300km ride to test my absolut limits. This head unit would be the perfect companion to navigate and control my pace. So much as to myself. Thank you very much for putting out amazing content and keeping us motivated! Cheers!
It's great things to have a head unit especially for the navigation system. I just cracked my phone screen because i was using my phone for navigation during my previous solo bikepacking and suddenly got called from my family. It is very convenient to use a different device to track my cycling data and navigation system during my cycling or bikepacking session.
Just got into cycling when I came back from my deployment, during deployment we rode bikes and such so I found your channel when looking into cycling. I got a new road bike and would love a Garmin to go with it, have been riding around the trails in Maryland with my phone and it dies so quick! Anyway thank you for the videos!
Its thanks to you and a few others on here that I'm even considering the possiblity of going on my own back packing adventure, to the Netherlands, Germany and beyond. thankyou for you wealth of knowledge. The reason I would like it ( of I'm not too late to the party) is to combine my love of music and cycling. Getting to obscure music events in Europe using the power of my mighty legs. Good luck on your switz adventure!
Super impressive technology! My dad and I are doing the Mallorca 312 next year and I'm on domestique duties.. this would be perfect with the routes easy to see on the big screen and solar power meaning we wouldn't get lost! Love the channel!
bought my first gravel in spring and have been researching head units but so far they are way over my budget. this would be an awesome improvement to my bike rides.
Hi Francis! First, many thanks for the quiality and informativity of you content! Second, I would also like to have one of these nice new head units, because I simply do not have any head unit at all. Have a nice day!
I’d love one of these! We are going bike-packing in Canada this summer and currently have a battery pack zip tied to the top tube to charge the battery whilst we ride. This battery life and the solar power top up would be incredible for those long back to back days when we won’t be able to charge in between!
Hello Francis, avid viewer from tropical Laos here. Just beginning road / gravel cycling again, after recovering from Covid and a 20plus years cycling break. A solar charging function will be great here, as we got lots of solar radiation and sunshine. I never subscribed to any channel yet. I will make yours the first. Ride safe and have fun!
Been a big fan of your stuff ever since I first got into cycling and a friend sent me your "quick bike wash video", and your videos (special shout-out to Bike Fit Tuesdays!) have really helped me find my groove. Personally I'd love this state-of-the-art head unit is because a) Garmins are awesome and this is the top of the even that very high shelf and b) the economy of the country is crashing and it's gonna be near impossible to afford/justify buying this. Keep the good content flowing and thanks for the opportunity to win a Garmin head unit.
BTW, your coverage of Unbound was AWESOME. Footage like that gets me really fired up to go further and harder myself. And you introducing us to all the cool people you did bike cheks of, really shows how cycling is for everyone.
I'm planning to go bikepacking next year and I will need a proper head unit. Currently I am riding with a Garmin Edge 530 which has not enough battery life for the rides I am going to do. The solar-panel-garmin is a perfect solution for my problem!
Nice, that you can give away one of these! I just started Road cycling this year and don’t have a Head unit yet, because it’s too expensive for me right now. I would be very honored if I could get my hands on one of these things. Keep up the nice work!
Your channel has inspired me and my partner to expand the reaches of where we can travel on a bike. We live in Canada (which is really big), and so the new Garmin computer could help us chart ambitious new routes, bring us on new adventures and explore our own backyard. Right now, we're doing a combination of Google Maps and handwritten cue sheets, but having navigation would be a game changer.
Man I need that Garmin so much that I need that Garmin!! Now for real, need that garmin to guide me everywhere and everyday enjoying every minute seeing all the data in real time as accurate as Garmin can be
Keep up the great work Francis! I've been looking at head units recently to help me from pulling my phone out during rides for maps, and that massive battery life is a definite bonus!
Francis, FRANcis, FRANCIS! …now that I have your attention …the head unit would make a lovely gift to stop my wife getting lost! Oh and keep the vids coming, they’re great!
There are others that probably need this more than I do. I currently have a wahoo element bolt head unit and it works for me. However, I have started to do longer rides and have needed to charge the unit well riding so I am a big fan of the solar aspect of this unit. At the end of the day I want to become a better rider and from your review this unit will help me do that. If I do win this I will pay it forward and give my old unit to someone that needs one so they can enjoy it and so they can better enjoy riding bikes because that is what it is all about. Thanks for your passion for biking.
We're bikepacking to Belgium in August, and currently using a Garmin Fenix 3 for navigation! It's doesn't even have basic maps, just has a black line on white background you have to try and follow. Would love to have this Edge 1040 to make our trip more epic!
This looks great. New to road cycling after losing 40kg during lockdown. Now planning some bikepacking trips with friends and could use a reliable headunit which will last so I don't have to rely on my phone. Thanks for the content.
Garmin devices have been essential to my exercise routines. I’ve been using the Forerunner 735xt for the past few years and, whilst it still works with its cracked screen, it records my metrics and I wouldn’t leave home on a ride without it. But it still does the job I want it to do. However, my mother, who got out for her first ride in 20+ years at the weekend, would benefit hugely from it. As you touched on, the simpler UI design is a fantastic update, but I think it would especially aid those new to using head units and who are maybe getting back out on the bike. The larger display and navigation would also (hopefully!) help with her sense of direction, but I think that would require some practice!
Nice going Francis, you continue to be the font of knowledge and front of fashion in the world of cycling. I'm planning to be the fastest person to circumnavigate Aus on a fixed gear bike in the next couple of years. Maybe that headunit would save some beans? Keep up the epic content. Lozza
As a cyclist that is just getting into the sport, and always loving to know my riding stats, and riding far, makes me believe that I am a valid person to own this garmin. (BTW I am a little new to the channel, but am loving it so far.)
I’m still using my Garmin Edge from 10 years ago! I’d love to upgrade it for my gravel and mtb rides, and would hopefully encourage me to do more bikepacking this summer!
Would love one of these as i have no head-unit. Would be rad for local and multi day rides and for my next Tour Aotearoa here in New Zealand . No shortage of quality routes here if your looking to make content . Keep it up with the quality info and humour ! One of the sickest bike channels for sure.
I've been biking on and off for years, but never quite got into the point of real fitness. Until now. Having to shake off the COVID weight gains, and for a more appreciative wife, I've taken up cycling as a serious avenue to continued health and fitness goals. A head unit would be a great addition to achieving those goals. The unit itself looks fantastic, such a tremendous battery life could bring about a concern of forgetting to ever charge the thing!
I'd love to have one! I Got ridden over by a car a 3 years ago while riding my bike to work and since then never got back to my previous shape. I hope this could be some kind of extra motivation to get more often out on the bike. Also love all the design, new technologies that it offers and new training abilities of it which all seem very helpful and motivating!
I've recently moved to sunny Italy and got a food delivery job. I'm now following instinct and audio directions. It would really come in handy, since the pay is very low.
Excellent piece of kit Garmin have engineered , never thought a tracking device this advanced would ever exist ! i would really help me track my KOM attempts 🤣🤣
I'm really impressed by how the software uses your data and can help you improve. It says the battery can charge up to maximum 42 minutes per hour, which is wildly impressive, but probably only possible on a rare sunny day 😅
Getting back into riding after a 3 year hiatus. I want to be serious about training but I don't want to put a lot of effort into collecting and analyzing data to develop a training schedule. This unit appears to do that for you. Plus, I recently moved to Washington DC which has A LOT of great trails and the map would be very helpful. Thank you.
I'm not gonna even comment now, this guy clearly would get more out of it than me so would be a worthy winner.
I agree. This person could use it more than me.
👆
This dude *needs* this Garmin!!
Same for me and due to the diabetes and my poor control of it I now only have 1 eye and no kidneys 🤣
And I shall sing-- Here comes the sun ding ding ding ding
Here comes the sun and I say
It's alright.
Would love to give this to my mom as a gift. She's been going through a bit of a rough time and think this would make her smile.
The bigger screen will allow for a clear indicator to highlight just how far behind every KOM I am! Great video as always, clear and to the point.
For me please, because I am turning 50 this year and just bought a Specialized Diverge Expert. 😊 All the best and may the force be with you
Im just getting back into cycling following a devastating loss of my hair to alopecia at the start of the year and feeling really self conscious about going out on the bike and stopping at cafes.
Wow! Great head unit!
I need this for my epic bikepacking trip to Scotland! Solar extended battery life and better GPS coverage.
Fantastic!
Finally a solar unit! Genius, been riding with Garmin for 4 years, would love the upgrade
Thanks for the opportunity…
Gives me an opportunity to experience a top spec garmin and at last a screen with maps I can actually see without glasses to get me home ❤
1040 solar is a must for big adventurer Please pick me 🙏
Doing my first bike race this Friday. 320 km pew pew! This would be the ultimate well-done-pat-on-the-back.
Very cool piece of kit. Nothing would be better for my old man eyes than a nice big screen!
Great rundown on the key features. This would be the best upgrade to my current head unit - my memory of the roads
Love Garmin products. My 820 is getting old. I enjoy your videos. Do miss the London locations. Thanks
Good to see Tony in the videos again! I have broken my wahoo the other day but still records my rides some how.
Just completed my first TrainerRoad work out today and the garmin 1040 solar would be brilliant for the outside workouts.
I'm new to road cycling and as you can appreciate the costs of getting everything needed to get started a garmin edge would definitely help!
About to undertake my first bike packing trip and this Garmin head unit would be the perfect companion. Love the vids!
Thank you.
Going backpacking with some mates later in the summer and this would be ideal! Looks like a pretty substantial upgrade.
