    Happy Sunday everyone! Thank you for all your lovely comments, they really mean a lot to us, we love hearing from you all.
    We have noticed this evening that there has been a quality glitch with this video, and it is not as sharp as usual (we tried downloading it in a different way today 🤦🏽‍♀️) - anyhoo, we’re super sorry about this and will make sure that our videos are back to the normal quality from next week. This video is probably best watched on a smaller screen, like your phone or iPad. We hope you still enjoy the video.
    Much love xx

    We bought the house next to the path that used to be on Home and Away. Our neighbours told us that the street used to be blocked off for filming every now and again. The filmed elsewhere when we did a knockdown rebuild.

    Not all of Canada is that cold all year round, you know. In fact, here in Southern Ontario, it's about 31 Celsius. I love Canada. But, if I had to live in any other country, Australia would likely be my choice. It seems like, aside from the climate, it shares a lot if similarities with Canada, but with warmer weather and a lot more tropical beaches.

    Are there any tricks to reduce the cost of the transition from the UK 🇬🇧 to Australia 🇦🇺? How about finding a job? Do you have to do it once in Australia 🇦🇺 or can you still do it while in the UK 🇬🇧 and move only after finding a job?

      Years ago I lived in Copthorne, West Sussex, it's a beautiful area 🥰
      No tricks as such. We did think that the value an emigration agent offered was worth spending on. We checked various sites for flight costs/accomodation/rental cars. On arrival we made an arrangement with the management of our accomodation to stay there long term - it saved us a lot of money until we bought our house. Hope that helps 🥰

    Hey guys really helpful 😊 thanks . We were there 7/ 8 years and decided to move back to uk when we had our daughter to be close to family. She is now 3. We are Australian citizens as well as UK so we're looking at coming back to Australia again in the next year or two. I think the only thing for me is I'll be so gutted to leave grandparents. And she is very close to them. I'm a little scared of that. But your videos are really helpful inspiring and make me feel like it will all be OK. How was it for the younger girls starting primary school in Australia. Do they start a year later then in the UK? Also did the girls transition well to making friends? Thanks Mia

    • @TheBAMFamalam
      @TheBAMFamalam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mia, it's so tough leaving family. Thankfully Ben's Mum was so incredibly supportive of us, which made it easier, although I realise it must have been tough for her.
      The kids have all thrived at school here and made friends easily. They have a fantastic friendship group. I think kids start school at different ages in different states. The school year starts in January - Ella started just after her 5th birthday, Mia was still 4 when she started - we are in QLD ❤️

    • @TheBAMFamalam
      @TheBAMFamalam  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a tough question as we only know one area really well. We suggest you start your search by choosing a state, then look at the cities in that state, and how far away from the city you would like to be. Have a look online at house prices and fb community pages. Also depending on your job, an area may be more practical for you if you need to be near to potential workplaces. We hope this helps xx

    Im a London boy who came here with my family aged 3 in 1970. While I love this country and consider myself 100% Australian its important to realise that kids growing up wont have the same opportunities when it comes to careers as they do in Europe or the UK. Depending on where you live in Australia they may not have the opportunities they want and need. To give you an example, Ive spent most of my life in Perth except for a period living in Sydney and when I was in the army. Perth is basically the mining capital of the world. If you have a trade or qualification relevant to mining the opportunities are endless. Queensland is the second area in Australia where mining is big. But if you want to be, say, an art conservator, youre never going to be doing that in Perth and probably not in Queensland - there just isnt enough demand for that sort of thing in these places. So different parts of Australia offer different opportunities to kids who grow up here. Its not like the UK where its just a matter of maybe getting on a train to go to your dream job or university.
    Its really important to have a good idea of what your kids want to do with their lives and, if that opportunity isnt available in your city, area, or state, help them to move - even interstate - to get those relevant qualifications and/or do the things they want to do. Just because for you Queensland or Brisbane works, dont make the mistake, that ive seen generations of poms make (Including my parents), of not realising that your kids are not you and they may need more from this country than you do. With all the great things this country offers families its a really easy mistake to make.
    Lastly, love your videos. Really refreshing and fun.

      That’s a really great point, we had notice that also, and that there are so many people who work away from their families.

    I’m wondering when you moved did you take everything with you like your home belongings? We are looking to just starting the process and unsure what to do on that side of things.
    Thank you Mel & Ben

      Hey Mel and Ben,
      We didn't, and to be honest it cost us a fortune to start from scratch again. We would advise that you at least bring tools and electricals - those are probably the most expensive things to build up again xx

    hi, quick question would it be easier to go on a working holiday visa and get sponsored or just get go get your citizenship?

    • @TheBAMFamalam
      @TheBAMFamalam  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, you will be unable to get a citizenship without a permanent resident visa, and you have to have lived here for a while. It would all depend on your profession as there are many different visa pathways. The best thing to do is have a chat with an emigration agent, to find out what is the best visa for you to go with ❤️

      We came on a 457 and then a 187, however both of those have been scrapped now. If you need visa advice, it is best to contact a Mara registered emigration agent, as they can give you current advice suited to your circumstances 🇦🇺

    Hello guys, excellent video. I would like to ask, how can i immigrate to Australia (Melbourne) since there's lockdown? And generally. I'm from Greece and i always wanted to travel there for vacations or for ever. My uncle lives there so I'm trying to find as many as informations I can, thank you very much!

    • @TheBAMFamalam

      Hi, currently we believe that the border restrictions only allow permanent residents and citizens to enter Australia. The best thing to do is to contact a Mara registered emigration agent to find out what your options are ❤️
