- 今年は特別に暑く、夏以降に病害虫の被害が心配されたので、普段夏に使わない石灰硫黄合剤での消毒を行いました。
石灰硫黄合剤は主に冬季に使われる薬で、活動期にはあまり使わない消毒薬ですね。
植物の夏季休眠期を利用して、薬剤を十分に希釈した上での散布です。
通常夏季の使用は４０倍以上の希釈が必要と言われていますが、今回の濃度は１００倍と８０倍で、かなり薄めの溶液を１０日の間隔を空けて２回散布しました。
結果は、かなり良いように思います。

Taking advantage of the plants' summer dormancy period, I sprayed a sufficiently diluted solution of the chemical.
When using lime-sulfur mixture in the summer, it is generally said that it is necessary to dilute it 40 times or more.
This time I diluted it 100 times and 80 times, and sprayed the solutions twice , 10 days apart.
Things have been going well since then, I think.

Your videos, they always get me going out to check my trees more closely… I’ve noticed some insect or caterpillar damage to some of my elms. I’ll be spraying this morning. It’s cooled down here this week. I hope you get a temperature relief there soon too! Even your damaged bonsai are amazing, to me! Thanks again for your insightful videos👍

Now a typhoon is approaching here, so it has been raining and cooled down.

It's very weak for the solution of lime sulfur mixture.
This chemical is usually diluted about 10-20 times before use in winter.
