Happened across one of these little steamboat beauties, the “Catawissa” while kayak rolling training on Atsion Lake in NJ yesterday. I wish I had taken a picture!
Imagine, if you will, a city that exists on the shores of the Great Lakes. Now, imagine this city is somewhat like Venice, where instead of Roads, there’s canals everywhere. There are Big Broad canals for larger vessels such as Lake Freighters and other such vessels, and there are smaller channels for smaller boats like the steam boats in this video. Imagine such a society, where roads are not needed. Where traffic flows on the water instead. Imagine a society that exists on the water.

I own a steamboat myself and i hope to one day get it fired up.

A great steam boat, there used to be a steam boat on Loch Awe but it now Plies on Loch Katrine ( great invention those steam boats )
