I love to hear stories about how previous generations grew up. You cannot go wrong with using a crockpot if you have a busy schedule or work a lot of hours. I prefer my black-eyed peas juice to be a lot thicker, so I place 4 or 5 Spoonfuls in a bowl and mash them up, then add back to the pot of peas...it thickens them up nicely. I also love to throw in some knock your socks off smoked oxtails.

There are only two of us in the house so I didn’t cook the whole bag of peas which means I’m not going to use as much water, right? If I cut it to 4-6 cups of water, will that be ok?
