What I like about this reboot is that Venom is not a manipulative parasite, he is quite honestly the best friend you could ask for, he is by your side, and for an alien goo that has 0 concept of anything like culture, community, and kindness, he does his best, and his best is not bad.
Except after watching this movie and how everything else depicts him. I came to realize that venom never always been fully evil. He likes humans and being spiderman was his only opportunity to help people but he thought killing humans that commit crimes is right. Spiderman and him never got to expressed that and when venom was removed, he's filled with anger and he's hurt. My point is venoms character in many things he clearly has emotions and doesn't know how to control his anger and if spiderman and him talked it out he wouldn't had gotten rageful and wanted revenge. Venom may be abusive or controlling but he actually cares about humans and thinks bad should die. Which is very hard for him to see as he's not human. I can't recall ever when him or spiderman could've just spoken. Venom is a great friend and he has emotions and is just hard to understand and if he has misunderstandings, it's hard for him to express it. Venom is one of the unique characters In fiction. Especially that writers made it that as a symbiote they still have feelings and venom likes humans and he has a hard time dealing with anger.

In instances like Insomniac Venom is an alien sent to assimilate the planet into the kingdom of darkness for Knull. But as with Insomniac Venom, he has always had the emotions, like how Venom HATED being called a "thing".

I won't spoil too much about him, but he does make a pretty smexy return to form, in both character and design. And his conflict in the story is perfection.
