You need to come to the USA & teach some courses. Specifically Southwestern Pennsylvania ;-) You have me "hooked". I love your laid back personality and way of teaching. You seem like an awesome lady and person all around. Thanks for getting me interested in sewing again and not now wanting to learn machine embroidery. Did I hear you correctly that you said any good quality thread would work you don't have to buy specifically embroidery thread? I have only seen very limited colors in my stores and I am not sure enough that I will stick with it to invest in ordering online yet. TYIA for any help
Hi Wanda, you can use a polyester or cotton thread to try this technique. Please don't feel you have to buy machine embroidery thread. If you have old threads they can snag as you try to sew with them but modern threads will be fine. I'm going to do a few more videos with more techniques so please watch this space.
Yes, other fabrics can be used. Cotton, polycotton, linen, synthetic fabrics, nothing too thin or stretchy. Single layers of fabric should be put in a hoop, a hoop isn’t necessary if you use several layers of fabric. The thing to do is just try a fabric out beforehand.
That was very well done Claire. Inspirational xx
