Love you guys. This is really minutiae. I would love to see Boswell kick the ball through end zone giving no chance for a return after a score. It may be exaggerated however it seems as if teams gain a little momentum by returning past the 30yd line. Couple of times got beyond 40. I trust the defense to make stops before FG range. If team gets ball at 40, then they are 1 first down away from FG range.
“You can’t lose the game in the 1st quarter.” Getting KILLED in the 1st half is a large part of our losing streak. I won’t be sad if we lose Saturday being aggressive.
Not really. If you look from Week1 to about Week12, team made great adjustments and MOSTLY shutdown in 2nd half. All games we were in it the first half. I'm ball parking, not googling, but at Halftime each game. Eagles down 4 or 7, RAISINS tie game, BANGLES down 3 and Chiefs game was the one didn't seem close at all.

Were driving to tie the game in Philly -tied it late 3rd against Balt and probably should have won the game vs cincy. So moral of the story is don’t lose it in the first quarter with turnovers, defensive breakdowns, bad special teams play, etc

I hate to add to this "Tomlin's future" talk, especially since the season is far from over - by the way, I believe, that's the one and only job I have as a fan - but could you clarify who constitutes the "Front Office" when it comes to the Steelers making decisions on the head coaching job, obviously Art II, but who else? Also, who is touted to eventually replace Art II when he decides it's time to step aside? One of the many things that makes me a proud Steelers fan is the Rooney family's singular and continuous ownership of the team since 1933, and I hope that continues as far into the future as possible.Thanks!
Art has say on any of that kind of thing. Omar and Mike are, essentially, equals who both report directly to Art. Art's son, Dan, would be the likely replacement.
I think they were concerned about the Ravens going after a secondary missing two starters that then lost Porter, as well. Everyone's healthy in this one. Should be interesting.
Huge difference in missing Bell and signing a guy off of street to start at RB. That sounds like terrible roster management anyway. Ravens have other guys that can catch and Henry can pop a 40 yard run at any time.
Why would y’all want defense on the field first? Not a good idea, it’s the offense that needs a lot more work. Scoring is an issue, you put offense on field that way if you can score your ahead of the game. The defense out first and the opponent scores first that would force our struggling offense to have to score
And likewise, the defense getting a stop -- as it did in the meeting in Baltimore -- could set up the rest of the game. If the Steelers recover the Jackson fumble on the opening series in Baltimore, it changes the entire complexion of that game.
While I’ve never been a “fire Tomlin” guy, I feel like there gets to be a point where it’s clear a different strategy/view is needed at the top. Doesn’t mean he’s not a great coach or his philosophy doesn’t work in general, it’s just not working here if you measure success by playoff performance and competitiveness. It’s not even like they have a chance against the upper echelon teams in any of these games the last few times.

I'm not sure exactly who everyone who wants them to put five WRs on the field expects those WRs to be. They have one stud WR, one who has been that in the past and has shown some flashes here and there while coming back from an ACL, a smaller, speedier guy who has had some good moments and then what? And going five WRs doesn't exactly protect your QB. There are no extra blockers. Also, if you go with five eligible receivers, there is no RB on the field. So, if you're going with Pickens, Williams, Austin, Freiermuth and Warren, that's exactly what they've already been doing all season. Those guys all play a decent amount of snaps. Williams can play more than he has. OK. I'm all for that. But you can only have so many eligibles out there.

That's our stated goal. We play 50-50s. But we win more often than we lose -- usually hit about 70 percent. It's no different than making a bet on a game. If I double my money, I've won. In this instance, there's no juice involved. And it's a way to talk about the other games in the league. Not sure why that's so offensive.

I don't recall this show giving any similar grace to Fields. And the grace that they give for mistakes was given to a 13-year veteran who should know better. Could you imagine what they'd say if Fields played the way Russ did in the final four games of the season?

You haven’t really said anything on this show about the many things behind this losing steak including the subpar qb play. When Fields was benched there was a lot of talk about the value of a “been there done that” bet who could make checks, respond to what the d is doing etc. doesn’t look like that’s happening. So what do we do? If the t were cousins or Rodgers regressing like this as playoffs loom it’s would be a topic of discussion. Not sure why these trends aren’t addressed for the Steelers.

It’s windy in Acrisure and it’s hard to kick it out of endzone. Harder to hit it straight that way as well.

Last Raisins game we started by playing the Pass, first and second play. This game we should start by playing the Run like most of our start to games.

More time has been spent this week analyzing the 1986 Jets than on trying to explain why the offense has regressed or what to try to do about it.
Why pay pass rushers (Watt for example) all the $ if the nfl is allowing them to be held. Get great CB's instead (Surtain)
