Dude i an folding origami more than an year. i had folded ryujin 2.1 but i could not fold ryujin 3.5 . if you are making it and if you made it please give me some tips. best of luck
@@tommyvarcceti5965 use a big paper.. something like 200 cm x 200 cm. And you need extreme patience. And be gentle with paper. I've been folding for over 5 years
@@anythingg361 you don't get 200x200 cm paper. You are supposed to stick multiple sheets to get 200x200cm. Like stick 4 (100x100cm) sheers or 16(50x50cm sheets)
wow, at 6:07 AM, haungry, since I hadn't take my dinner, and really tired, I just finished the tutorial but, my first results are not enought accurate, so I couldn't try the scales procedure, but I think it is a good begeanning, at less my unfolded sheet of paper has the same patern than the CP. Tomorrow I will try make another attempt, however, I have learned lot of things, I should use a more bigger paper, (I used some paper of 21 per 21cm), I learned where I must be more focused, now I understand why it use a square paper of 2 meters per 2 meters. Anyway, at less I can make this, but I need better and more bigger paper, if I really want to make the scales correctly. What I was useing I am totally sure that it will be broke... However, I will continue practicing with normal paper, after all, I must make some things more accurate, and I need understand some things from the right side, my problem was I wasn't sure of the goal, but now I have clear the goal during the first hour. And 3.5 is clrearly the perfect origami, tricky, easy, but perfect for patience persons like me. XD

Yo sage can you fold the ryujin 3.5 in like pieces like for example like folding the scales, head, tail and legs all individually and glue them together? Just wondering.
Look at it and realizing that all that stuff unraveling on the sides would give me a nervous breakdown. The hardest origami I’ve ever tried was Shuki Kato’s Brachiosaurus. I got through the first part of the tutorial fine, got to step 79 (about 20 minutes into the 2nd part) and was unable to get the tail into the shape I needed to get the step done. And when I went to correct it, the whole rear half of the model unfolded on me and I couldn’t figure out how to get it to go back together.
Honestly that’s how I felt at the very beginning and now I can fold cps inside my head and keep track of everything. It’s not that I have any special abilities, I just folded a lot, and by a lot I mean A LOT. So just keep going until it works. Stressful situations while folding can be solved just as the resl life ones, take a step back, chill, asses the situation, see what you can do about it and when you think you are ready continue.

FearlessFlourish I will see what I can do... Ry 3,5 is like the most famous model and I really think you guys should figure it out by yourselfs because I want you to learn something, so later you will be able to fold other CPs as well. If I teach you the 3.5 you still won't be able to do any CP's on your own.... I will do tutorial for neck- head connection and shoulder scales....Maybe in the future I will do walkthrough through whole model as well Anyways I will think about it. Happy New Year by the way :D!
Huh fearless I made ryujin 2.1 when I was 11, it's not so hard the 3.5 is not to much different the Neak twist, shaped scales (not mandatory but looks better), and the head is much the same as 2.1😎

I found when making the grid if you just do one side 32nd first then anther the 16th it makes the starting a lot easier , also don't first attempt this with a 6in by 6 in ... oops

Watching your video before I start this project but your folding goes out of the view of your camera. Redo your video and pan back so we can view what you’re doing more clearly.
i initially used a paper that's 8" x 8" and i could not shape the scales because they're already too small. i'm gonna try this again with 40 cm x 40 cm metallic paper and get those gorgeous scales
Ugh that's quite small for shaping but not impossible with a sufficient paper. Mind sending me ome pictures when you finish them up? I would love to see the impact on its looks made by metallic paper.
i finally found time to fold this again with the metallic paper but man, the shaping of the scales is tricky. i'm about half-way done with the scales and it's taking me longer than i thought.
Just make a diagonal a square has its all angles equal to 90 degree . diagonal of a square bisects the angle so if you will make a diagonal it will divide angles into two equal parts so 90÷2 is 45 degree . thats how you make a 45 degree angle . best of luck

+Korey Henson If you've never folded models from crease pattern you are no where near folding the ryujin. Also you should study the crease pattern and find out how its one sheet. Finally you should know that youtubers can't make a tutorial because Satoshi Kamiya won't allow it. Be patient till you've mastered the Crease pattern folding.
