Such a great take on this to also show what they units are priced for now! We all have to pay for rent/mortgages so the more informed we are, the more empowered when we make decisions about how we manage our own costs. Excited to see the follow up video about the apt in the loop. That's a crazy deal!!
I'm not going to lie, I really enjoy your videos because they're always so informative. I was just minding my business and contemplating about going back home because I've been gone for close to 15 years. I love Las Vegas but it's just not home, I'm simply too much of a Chicagoan. Lol
This was the most helpful video you've ever done. Thank you so much for providing the months and years with the prices and compare them to now. It's super super helpful for us who are trying to move to Chicago! Also way to go on the amazing deals you found!
Thank you so much for sharing this. This is a different example but I remember when a good friend of mine shared what she made in a year at her job and I was so ashamed of myself for lowballing myself all this time. When I began my next job search I did extensive research and asked for what I deserved and I got it! Such an empowering moment. I also kept her info confidential, I just used it as fuel for myself to be daring in the job market.
👍🏻 these types of videos are really informative for people like me who know absolutely nothing about finding apartments in big cities. Just the fact that rents increase during certain times... I would never have known that. Definitely consider making more videos about moving/finding apartments. I kept wondering if utilities were included 😆
This video was absolutely AMAZING! Seriously, just yesterday I had a situation at work that was VERY uncomfortable and took me on a tour of my insecurities, so I can relate since it was also public. I can say that already, today, I feel like I am stronger because of it. So, I am so dang excited for you, your channel and your energy in general, because I think this video is going to bring you to a new level of you. Again, thank you for always being you and sharing that with the world!
Thanks for bringing transparency to the the cost of rent in Chicago. I feel like I now have a baseline on costs based on seasonality. So helpful, thank you!
Love this video, I always wondered how Chicago rents stacked up to Manhattan. You get more for your money in Chicago in terms of space. Thank you for sharing!
Very informative. I was looking into moving to Chicago and this gives me a good idea of what to expect. I know that moving to Chicago in the winter is probably the best bet because that’s when the prices are usually the most reasonable from what I’ve seen. Thank you for this! Awesome video as always!
SO helpful. We are Michiganders planning to move to Chicago in a few years and me bring a planner type personality, am trying to prep as much as possible. Knowing that rent prices fluctuate based on time of year us something we don’t deal with much here, so that was so good to know and will impact when we decide to make the move. Thanks!!!
I would love to see a video of you kind of showing what a low, medium, and high budget would get you in different areas of Chicago, but also show what that area has to offer. Like show 3 diff in apts in west loop, then some things to do in that area/vibes in that area, for example. Would be super helpful especially for people coming out of state bc it’s overwhelming looking seeing all the diff areas on the map.
Thanks for keeping it real, your insight and breakdown is great !!! Please share your tips and tricks for looking for apartments in general. Have a good day !!!
You could live in South Loop, Chinatown, Hyde Park, Kenwood, Bronzeville, Edgewater, Lincoln Park, etc. That’s why I love Chicago! So many neighborhoods to choose from. It’s more than just downtown fyi.
I noticed that the prices have been shooting up now that the pandemic is waning. I'd still love to know what 1500 or less can offer or if it's even possible to live in chicago with that rental budget. But wow, you make your job sound so much fun. This video is really helpful.
It's possible if you don't mind hearing gunshots everyday or don't have a vehicle to get carjacked. I'm trying to move to Chicago as well for career opportunities and it's been a headache for sure.
Thank you so much for sharing , I always wondered what made you leave your second apartment because it was so dreamy , that 800 dollar rent makes it make sense now ! So cool of you to share !
I love the transparency! I am in a $2400/mo, 450 sqft studio with dishwasher in-unit and 4 washers/4 dryers in-building for probably 80 people in San Francisco. (Found in August, but prices were the same in February.) I'm pretty happy with this find. It is so sad to see that Chicago prices are going up, because I think of it as a more affordable place I could move to if I wanted to go back to the Midwest. That being said, the apartments you show are modern, beautiful, and have great views. My apartment is currently 100 years old with some renovations to the kitchen and double paned windows with screens, and that's the best I can get in the neighborhood I'm in for anything less than $2600. I was previously paying $2200/mo in a 350sqft studio with an inefficient layout, old windows, and no dishwasher, so this felt like a worthwhile upgrade for $200/mo. (I moved in during a May during a hot market, and when I moved out last August the price was hiked up $400 and they lied about the place being 500 square feet in the new listing. I was so mad for the next tenant.) I keep my expectations lower here. When I'm ready to explore another city I really hope you're still taking clients! You are fantastic, Caira.
Love your videos and love you stepping outside your comfort zone! Money is definitely something that should be talked about more often and you're taking a great step in that direction with your platform!! Even though we're looking to buy a condo in Chicago, your videos are very fun and helpful to us!
Just subscribed! Only saw one of your videos before this and it was so nice to hear what you’ve actually spent on rent! Money is a taboo topic but I personally don’t think it should be. Thanks for sharing :)
This was so insightful on the market and everything in regards to apartments. Im currently looking for apartments with my roommate and it’s been a journey everything is ridiculous price wise.
Very helpful video! Esp the comparisons to prices now. Also super helpful to discuss the months you got the best deal. Think it’s common knowledge that summer is busiest and highest season to rent but seeing the numbers (even though affected by COVID) makes me understand how much smarter that is to move winter-ish season lol.
Those apartments look so much more expensive than the prices you listed. I thought for sure you guys paid about 4k a month at your current home! Great deals!!
When do you expect prices will go back down for apartments in the city since it is busy season? My bf and I were planning on moving in july, but we might wait it out if prices are expected to drop a ton.
Fall and winter are the absolute best times to move to the city, however most landlords hate being in a fall and winter schedule so be prepared to sign a shorter or longer month lease that will effectively end during summer months when prices skyrocket. Best prices typically start in late October to early March. Worst times are may-aug.
Good morning happy Wednesday morning and I just wanted to say that your vlogs is sooo beautiful I loved your channel always because you are amazing Supporter
I've seen quite a few of your posts - fab job!! Interesting - just wanted to say your current rent is a lot and Denver has become ridiculous with 2 bd the almost same price and more. Tons of people cannot pay these prices like average income earners, teachers, service workers and lots more.
I really want a job in chicago as a marketer, I really want to live there. I love your videos about Chicago! They give me so much information on it and your apartment “hunting” videos UGGH LOVE
I got a great deal on my River North lease but it ends in March 2023 and I have to give a 60 day notice. When do you think is a good time to start looking for deals? I don't want to overpay during peak times.
Is it possible to find something small for $1500? No fancy, and small studio? I’m just moving in few months to Chicago but I don’t have to much budget, I want something just to start and meanwhile I adapt to the city
No bragging about living in Chicago the rent just skyrocketed. I need a roommate! My rent was $2635 and now it’s $3000.I’m moving.I’m done. It’s not worth at least not where I’m living.
Be safe beautiful girly that’s what counts 🙏🏿hopefully lightfoot will be gone in 8 months she has destroyed that beautiful city Emmanuel was no better but she is just evil 😡come on Chicago you can do it 🙏🏿

Thank you Caira for the transparency..$800!!??That was a CRAZY good deal even if just for 6 months.
This was the most helpful video you've ever done. Thank you so much for providing the months and years with the prices and compare them to now. It's super super helpful for us who are trying to move to Chicago! Also way to go on the amazing deals you found!
That was great, I really appreciate pricing on all the units and it's nice to see what you were able to get knowing that you're in the industry.
Never have I ever wanted to live in those neighborhoods but I love the transparency on this video!
Your literally the best for being so transparent with your money!
this is actually really great because it shows you actually stumbled upon really good deals! the timeline puts a lot of things into perspective too
Love your first apartment, so cute! Great video, very informative 👍

great info…the economy is really going to go bonkers soon…can’t wait for the follow up to this, thank u
Thank you so much for for being transparent this actually helps for people who have never live in the city :o
Thanks for keeping it real, your insight and breakdown is great !!! Please share your tips and tricks for looking for apartments in general. Have a good day !!!
Thank you!!!
Great vid! I love when pricing is included….
Wow the prices closer to the Loop are wild, I live a bit further out and the pricing is so much different
You could live in South Loop, Chinatown, Hyde Park, Kenwood, Bronzeville, Edgewater, Lincoln Park, etc. That’s why I love Chicago! So many neighborhoods to choose from. It’s more than just downtown fyi.
Yes absolutely!! Love all of the different neighborhoods, but for now river north has my heart. It’s just so easy to get around!
I noticed that the prices have been shooting up now that the pandemic is waning. I'd still love to know what 1500 or less can offer or if it's even possible to live in chicago with that rental budget. But wow, you make your job sound so much fun. This video is really helpful.

Thank you so much for sharing , I always wondered what made you leave your second apartment because it was so dreamy , that 800 dollar rent makes it make sense now ! So cool of you to share !
Thank you for talking about money, SO much more helpful!!!
I'm really glad to see the transparency! I was wondering why you didn't talk about your rent in the 2022 video 🤷♀
I was nervoussssss
@@CairaButton well then I'm proud of you 💜
It should be illegal for the prices to fluctuate this much simply because of what's going on in the world.

I agree! Rent prices are insane right now!
This is sooooo helpful. Great video!
Thank you!
thank you for sharing! this was super helpful
That's why I watch I want to know what other cities pay for rent
It feels like Chicago is a better city to buy if you are going to stay more than 3 years
Thanks for the good advice.
This was awesome thank you:)
Love this video so much!
I really want a job in chicago as a marketer, I really want to live there. I love your videos about Chicago! They give me so much information on it and your apartment “hunting” videos UGGH LOVE

How much you pay to rent in Chicago apartment,
Wow!😳
Doesn't Matter, I want my RENT Money 💰💰💰
Commenting for the algorithm! Love your channel - my partner and I plan to use your services in the future
No bragging about living in Chicago the rent just skyrocketed. I need a roommate! My rent was $2635 and now it’s $3000.I’m moving.I’m done. It’s not worth at least not where I’m living.
Talking about money is good but there's a time and a place for it. Talking about money in the wrong setting can make it come off as really tacky.
Yes totally agree
Lesson: renting as a single woman is so much more expensive than going 50/50😂
AGREED! I get a 50% discount basically lmao
Be safe beautiful girly that’s what counts 🙏🏿hopefully lightfoot will be gone in 8 months she has destroyed that beautiful city Emmanuel was no better but she is just evil 😡come on Chicago you can do it 🙏🏿
is she single?
