  • Hey Beauties! Today I am here to unfortunately share my BAD experience with colored contacts, and hopefully protect you from going through the same thing! Let's talk prescription, fit, color, and FDA approvals. And don't worry, you're getting my honest opinion and I'm putting all the bad right on the table!
*Disclaimer- Although Just4Kira contacts are not listed as approved medical devices by the FDA, Just4Kira does claim that all ingredients used in their production are FDA approved. Just4Kira also claims that their products have also passed CE and ISO certification. All views and experiences in this video are completely my own and the marketing practices mentioned are completely alleged. Just4Kira states they have 3 series of products Mirage, Shimasaki and Abeecons, which is why one box of contacts was different.

Seems like you have a Base Curve issue... these are 8.6, you are most likely a much different BC. I'm 8.4 so I know that colored contacts will never fit perfectly on my eye... all the colored contacts I've found only have the one BC, average is 8.6. Considering how critical it is that colored contacts fit perfectly around the iris, I would think the industry would start creating more specific sizes for folks.

FYI Just4kira use FDA approved pigments & passed CE & ISO quality certifications. Also they state on their website under Alpha Green that they will give tunnel vision bc the pupil hole is so small. Also Aurora Blue is the small style as Alpha Green.

Neala Brown is also shown on the website's list of "Small Pupil" contacts if you click on that category. In all fairness to the company, they provided a disclaimer by listing specific colors under that category, even though some of those colors are listed within other categories. Large pupil "holes" in color contacts are designed for the purpose of allowing people to see when their pupils dilate in low light, but some people don't like being able to see their natural eye color through their color contacts; the Small Pupil contacts would suit them, if they realize they're limiting their vision and that may cause long term problems that they should discuss with their opticians.

Mistake number 1 never, never, ever take lenses out of the blister pack and place them in your eyes, the solution that they are packaged in is not your solution, major problems right there, and the Alpha lenses have a pupil diameter too small, and yes I agree with KitKat that base curve is important, I have tried just about every lens company out now and have no problem with lenses, only the ones that are thicker then no way, but thankfully I don`t have those lenses anymore. But I do think it may have been that lens solution.

I bought the neala green and crystal brown contacts from just4kira and the colors are stunning but they are sooooo uncomfortable. It's weird because on some days they are more comfortable and on other days they just keep hurting my eyes. I just ordered the sl70 grey color to give another color a try. The colors are sooooooooo pretty and natural-looking but it sucks that they are so uncomfortable SOMETIMES.... which I don't know why its just sometimes. I think the lens is a little too thick?? i have some lenses from desio and they feel thinner and are so much more comfortable, but just4kiras colors are so much more beautiful.

  • @RowanWarren78

Most of the lenses on their site (Just4Kira) are around $35. That's pretty reasonable. Solotica often charges over $40 for a single lens, not even a pair! Urban Layer is also good and reasonable.

Why not get legit lenses from the eye doctor for the same price?

    • @RowanWarren78
      @RowanWarren78 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@rumham7466 the cost of the exam and lack of insurance is probably why people seek them online. Also, most eye doctors can't provide the same variety of colors as an online vendor. The best thing to do is look for reviews, many here on TH-cam, for different lenses and different lense makers. You should, however, go to an eye doctor if you don't know your current prescription.

I’ve tried many lens brands and yes many of them hurt . The only brand I trust is Color CL the quality and material is most comfortable for me . Soloticas and desios suck cuz i think they’re made of polymarcon which is a harsh material that won’t let your eyes breathe . All my color CL lenses are hydrogel and very thin . I’ve tried TTDeye and that brand sucks after a while those lenses hurt my eyes i don’t know why I fear J4K is the same I want to try a pair and see . So far Color CL is the only brand I trust . Not sure if it’s FDA but the quality is very good imo and they’re made in Korea .

When you purchase contacts from online companies, it’s often a “one size fits most” idea. I own several pairs of prescription colored contacts from various companies (including Just4Kira) however, I never had a problem. Part of that may be because the “standard” measurements they use are ok for my eyes & I only wear them for special occasions. Also, I always soak my contacts in 3% Hydrogen Peroxide cleaning solution for 6 hours then transfer to the multi-purpose disinfecting solution for storage. That’s just to ensure that they are clean in case the fluid in the packaging somehow became contaminated. I know it’s a lot of work, but you only have one set of eyes, right! I’m sorry that they didn’t work for her, but the colors were pretty.

I understand you, I trusted in Solotica’s Buzios because they claim to have FDA Approval. But when I touched them, they felt SUPER thick, you could even see thicker blue borders of the lenses. I just received 2 pairs from Solotica and 7 pairs from Unicoeye. I was able to put in the Solotica right away, and they are gorgeous. With the Unicoeye, I had to soak them first. They were all incredibly comfortable except one pair. Besides that one pair, they were honestly just as comfortable as the Solotica. Of the 7 pairs, 5 of them look pretty natural, and 2 of them look pixelated up close. My favorites are the Russian Blue and Mel. I wore them all day, and forgot I had them on until I saw myself in the mirror.

The problem with purchasing contacts from over the internet is that people are buying a one-size-fits-all. And if you are true contact wearer, like, from a doctor, then you know that there are different sizes of contacts because people have different eye shapes. So it’s kind of not fair that you’re giving the company a bad review when clearly they just don’t fit your eyes. This is so wrong. As for FDA approval? It’s a marketing scheme, hello. FDA won’t approve them and many products from other countries because they want you to buy what is produced in the US. It’s called supply and demand. But yes, people should also do their homework and educate themselves. Your video is misleading by a long shot. I said what I said and not sorry. Be well.

I bought Just4kira and I loved all my contacts, I’ve tried other standard brands as well solotica, ttdeye and they all fit fine. the reason it doesn’t work for you is because your eyes pupils and etc are a different size than the standard size that most people have, in this kind of situation the only way to be comfortable in colored contacts are actually getting the correct measurements from your docter and then getting them professionally individualized. I advise other people who are watching this review not to be discouraged because for most people the standard measurements are fine. I wish the best of luck to everyone and be safe trying them on!

I am in no way sponsored or anything, this is all honest for people that are in doubt. 1 out of my 4 lenses was uncomfortable. Edit: Go for the lenses with kind of a "fade" in it, most of the lenses are that but some lenses like the SL70 brown and SL70 blue are not comfortable. Maybe its something about SL70 cause the other ones I can Even feel on my ete

@@SnacckyChanT I live in norway, and they are from korea, think it took about 2-3 weeks. But my country is VERY slow on shipping. I have 2 Pairs of citha hazel, my favorite! I can wear them allll day If I want. I now have 14 Pairs, all of them are good. But they need soaking for atleast 24 hours and make sure its nothing on the lense when you put it on. They will send you a small like box for them (exuse my english) and also 2 "tools" to put them in with, These are a dream to have! So easy to see if anything is on the lense and so easy to put in. But if you have very small eyes it might be more of a struggle but for me it was 10 times easier. It might take some time before you Get them BUT THEY are soooo worth the wait!🤩🤩

@@Friendlyfire97 thanks for replying! ah that explains a bit haha yeah my eyes are small i always had issues getting contacts in lol usually i wait a day for contacts to soak but 24 hours ill do it. mine finally shipped today so i cant wait! i feel a bit better now

@@SnacckyChanT yeah, Im not a lens user normally and they are still so comfy, cant feel them, dont forget to take them out before sleeping cause you actually forget it. My friend has small eyes and she said it was easier to do it with the «tools» than with her finger. But its very easy to Get dirt in it when you fail to Get it in, keep that in mind, your lashes usally have some small dirt that easily Get onto the lens😂 Im sure you will love them🤩🤩🤩 specially if you bought chitha hazel, Super comfy and so pretty🤩

With all due respect, you have only a slight complaint that may be specific to possibly your mistake? Because under your info./ intro., after Hey Beauties, you offer a Just4Kira discount under ur name to get a 20% discount. Hopefully, it's a very minor issue and your now better at wearing them? *By the way, Anyone know what's Just4Kira's Oxygen permeability? It describes the amount of oxygen that is able to pass through the contact lens to reach the eye. Its value is expressed in Dk/L or Dk/t.

While they look cute… I don’t trust any of these brands on my eyes. I just don’t feel safe knowing what I know. We don’t know the chemicals that are used in the dyes. I would rather just go to my optometrist and get them there. While the mainstream lenses look like lenses and are pixelated….

Did you soak in your preferred solution for a day ? Anything with a reduced pupil will inherently geo puff and are made for photo shoots and filming not fit daily normal life as property periphery is necessary for daily life. Bang really chatted coast lenses with coloured lenses s that present their own pros and cons. It's like comparing Apple's and oranges. Yes they're both fruits but nothing alike.

What do you mean by reduced pupil and geo puff

So although in the video I did try them out of the box, I went back and soaked them after publishing the video to see if that would make a difference. Unfortunately after doing that it didn't change my experience with the lenses.

So these lenses are not for every day use?

You didn’t even soak them love, and their contacts are FDA approved. You supposed to have soak those contacts for at least six hours before watering them, they are always shipped with disinfectant solution, which will burn and irritate your eyes causing you not to be able to see through them lol I know this video is two years old but I would’ve took this down and did another review because NO

Thanks for your thoughts. I did end up soaking them before publishing this video, and same result. And perhaps they are FDA approved now, I have not looked, but at the time of publishing, they were not. I did even reach out to the company before this video was posted. If you had better luck with these, I'm so glad, but as you can see from the comments, many others have had similar results to mine. Best of luck with them!
