    Hey there, as I said in the video, there's an alternate, longer cut of this video on Patreon Originally, the intro was like seven full minutes, and then I realized that it made the video like, so much worse and I rerecorded. So if you want to see the worse, longer version of this video, consider checking out my patreon! It would of course be very appreciated! Anyway, here's the link: www.patreon.com/bigjoel

I mean for fuck sake the title of the book is "The Fellowship Of The Ring" and he uses that book as if it's somehow and example rugged individualism. Seriously Dave Rubin needs to teach a master class on how to misunderstand things.

    Here's some math using Dave's Flat Tax in case you're interested
    Anyone less than $50k gets a free ride, everyone else pays 18%
    So if you make $55k a year, you'd pay $9,900 in income tax. So the take home pay for someone making $55k suddenly turns into $45,100 after tax. I can already see all the CEOs lowering their own salaries to $49k a year just to avoid income tax, even though most of their assets don't even come from income. Great plan Dave

    • @MrFeederperson
      @MrFeederperson 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @proverbialloaf 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. Their talk about cancel culture and being snarked at on the internet for their views (which, hello, should not be surprising for the internet) applies just the same to the liberal mindsets they fervently oppose! Like, they're upset that they can't have a different opinion, but come after the left for... having... different opinions from theirs. As you said, that's the nature of discussion. Not everyone will agree, and that's ok because everyone should be free to voice their concerns. That's where facts and solid points come in and, eventually, compromise and courses of action. Saying the left = the oppressive power in 1984 without considering or posing actual points is lazy and doesn't accomplish anything. Not to mention the textual evidence from the book counters everything they're saying

    You know what, I'm gonna just edit this comment with timestamps and my reactions.
    1:26; fuckin nope. Dave that wasn't what Minitrue was. Minitrue destroyed evidence of times they did wrong and constantly changed the past. Minitrue wasn't being called a bigot on twitter.
    1:46; "if there is hope, it lies with the proles". You're just the party, Dave, who is scared of the proles. Doesn't work like that. Doesn't bubble up from the bottom
    3:53; nope. Your bullshit claim of reverse racism is itself doublethink. Doublethink was the idea that you can think one thing and its opposite at the same time, and forget that opposite only to draw it back again when it's needed. Not "aren't anti racists racist against white people?". A more realistic analogy is probably Dave Rubin thinking he's pro gay rights and yet coming out against the modern gay rights movement.
    4:38; nope. 2+2=5 came from the government, not the proles. 2+2=5 would be the party lying and forcing the public to believe something. Like for instance Trump saying that the election was rigged and causing a riot at the Capitol because they so eagerly believed it.

      @@drts6955 I agree with you. Cancel culture can be harmful, but the examples you provided are anecdotal, and that's the thing. The key word here is "culture"
      When people say cancel culture isn't real they mean that its not a culture-wide phenomenon. It's not a widespread epidemic that is spreading and causing people to lose their jobs at a drastically higher rate.
      Also, people have been losing their jobs to public outcry for a very long time--long before the 'woke' teens conqured Twitter. Think of former president LBJ and how the public pressured him to not run for a second term bc of how he handled Vietnam. Or senator McCarthy calling people commies and making other senators lose their job. Or the Dixie Chicks and how they were banned from playing at concerts and radio stations just for disavowing the Iraq war. This stuff isn't new at all.
      Now look at rape culture. Rape culture is real because *everyday* women and men are being raped and sexually assaulted. It's an actual problem that people like me and you face--and thus, it's something we actually fear.

      I agree that most randos on the internet don't understand the nuances of fascism as a political ideology, but it's one of those terms that is easier to misuse if thrown at left-leaning people.
      As fascism is an explicitly far-right ideology, if someone calls a right-wing conservative a fascist, there's at least the possibility that they are fascist or fascist-leaning. If someone calls a left-wing liberal a fascist, it's patently absurd because fascism is on the opposite end of the political spectrum and the ideologies are essentially in opposition.

A lot of the time I find liberals are surprised at how much they have in common with fascist goals and beliefs, there's more common ground with liberals than with establishment conservatives imo. Yes if you're talking about paleo conservatives and people with actual conservative/traditionalist beliefs then there will be more connection with fascism as it values traditionalism and accepts race-realism as fact. The issue is that most of the people you describe as conservative likely aren't conservative in any meaningful way, maybe on economics but fascism is explicitly anti-capitalist. The Overton Window has shifted left and with it most people considered conservative are just centrists that don't like the weird SJW stuff liberals like.

Also, of you're gonna argue against the left, maybe find something a little more substantive than identity politics. You are not every single immigrant and Dave Rubin is not every single progressive gay/LGBTQA+ person. Mikhail G Animal Farm is criticizing the Soviet Government. Under socialism all kinds of corruption happens as can be seen currently in Venezuela. Normally under capitalism the people who become rich are people like Steve Jobs or Bill Gates who invent a product everyone wants and people voluntarily hand over their money to get that product that only that person knows how to make. Under socialism the people who become rich are the political elites. In Venezuela Hugo Chavez' daughter is a billionaire. This in a country where people are killing and eating their pets and also zoo animals. How did she get rich? Did she invent the iPhone? Facebook? Microsoft Windows? No. This is tax money that has been extracted by force from private citizens under law and threat of imprisonment. So Hugo Chavez' daughter has collected this tax money from people who have worked hard to earn it, whereas Steve Jobs gets his money from people who voluntarily hand it over to get an IPhone. Not too mention that the bureaucracy and degree of regulation is so high that to get anything done politicians need to be bribed. So this corruption that happens under socialism is what George Orwell is making fun of in Animal Farm.
