Junna politely placing the drumsticks side by side on her snare drum, like they were a pair of chopsticks and she just finished a meal, along that wry smile and nod is everything. She is just an amazing talent.
The way she nods, smiles and lays the sticks down .... Kills me, in a good way.

Junna's ability does not only boil down to her innate talent for the drums, but also because she incorporates in her playing a spectacular aptitude for choreography with arm movements and facial impressions that make her truly unique, such talent cannot be relegated to the background in a band, in fact her experience with Trident was short-lived, Junna needs to have her own space and all the attention she can get, she is too explosive!
True, she really sells it too many think wacking a drum is enough, no you gotta put out the right energy to get the crowd with you.

Now and then I come back to watch and enjoy Junnas cover videos - and I'm really grateful that I had the opportunity to meet her in person on Fate Gears European tour where she plays as a guest drummer. She is such a humble and friendly person! And nobody would imagine just by meeting her and have some short conversation, that she is such an immensely talented world class heavy metal drummer! Yes meeting Junna and having photo taken with her and Fate Gear was the highlight of my 42 year rock gig journey , she comes across so humble and slightly embarrass about how popular she is .

@@JonnySublime I Googled "Brainchild" and what's obvious to musicians is that the audio sound and video doesn't match. An easy to spot example is that the foot cam shows a different rhythm from what is heard from 1'44. At 2'14 the muted cymbal accents doesn't match the video.
It is common practice today among TH-cam artists to make a studio recording and later make a nice play back video with lots of cuts to match the audio from the DAW.
When real drummers do live videos with one take and no edits it is almost always stated in the description.

@@JonnySublime That is also her drumming to a prerecorded track. But it is fun to watch anyway. Most people believe that these drummers are better than they are because of fancy production. Anything is possible with modern digital editing - so look for the artists that play "live" without cuts and edits.
It is a noticeable difference in sound if the room matches the audio if they are playing acoustic drums. If they use triggered samples of drums everything sounds "dead" without dynamics from their strokes. Every bass drum hit sounds exactly the same like a machine gun...
When you followed the notes during the solo , you blew my mind. That was the point where I said ''yeah,the drumming is better than the original''.

Japan has abundance of world-class musical talent across every genre, Junna is like Hiromi Uehara of drums and Kanade Sato is like Riyoko Takagi
then there is Senri Kawaguchi who actually played in a trio with Riyoko years ago, that female Jazz-fusion power line up was insane

Always a joy to watch her playing. Been following her since the early days. First time I've ever seen a drummer actually intentionally whack themselves in a head with a stick at 0:28 (though cowbell mounted hardhats and helmets are not unusual). Noe THAT'S true headbanging!

Nah, El Estepario Siberiano is the baddest drummer out right now, and he releases videos often. Junna does like one a year, makes you feel like your b-day when you get a notification from her.

Hell yeah! Junna is back! Not only is this awesome and entertaining, but I just realized, her videos are also a D.I.Y. tutorial on how to do what you love and have fun doing it.
Special shout out to her adding fills on the guitar solo. It was an interesting percussive interpretation of what Kirk was doing.

It has been quite a while since Junna has released another episode. As usual, she was incredible! Such passion in her playing, and she really possesses the best facial expressions while she plays. Her Sabian AAX series are loud, and have the attack needed for her explosive style. I can't wait for her release a full length project with original material. Well done!
