I admire this man's incredible talent and God-given gift of a voice SO much, and when he sings in his native Russian there is no-one to touch him! His ability to convey the emotion of the text as well as compliment the music when singing Tchaikovsky or Mussorgsky or Rachmaninov or one of the Slav composers is just incomparable. As a Verdi baritone he is superb as well as with Donizetti and Bellini roles, but when singing in Russian he is sublime! Bravissimo!
Dmitri does not sing the sounds of the song but the soul of the song. That's how I feel when I listen to her.
Éva Pappné I feel that too. Especially when he sings in his mother tongue, but even in operatic arias. I never think he is singing the aria or song, rather it is a work of art deep inside him that is coming to the surface and forming. He almost turns inside out in some songs. Add to that clear diction, a great sense of musicality, amazing technique, breath control and vocal flexibility and acting skills that have you believe he is the part he is playing - then you have probably the best voice, certainly THE BEST BARITONE, in this era. Sadly we have been robbed of possibly 20 or even 30 years of his talent 💔💔💔💔💔 I am so pleased he achieved so much in his short life. He lived up to the exciting promise he exhibited in 1989 in Cardiff and he got to enjoy his success. I watched him on the last night of the proms last night and the Pride and joy and pleasure at the reception he received helps ease the loss. But the World of music is a lot less bright without him. I really hope there is a heaven and we all get to hear him once again 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐 Thank you Dima xxx

А Дима так благороден, что удочерил её.
