I grew up in Hawaii for 16 years, and I moved to the east coast of the mainland 2 weeks ago for work... BRAH, I took home for granted :') land is so flat here-- I look into the horizon ans I don't see the ocean, or any mountains.... I live in a city-like area where there is no body of water in sight. I didn't think I would be THIS homesick, THIS quickly lol. I will visit the islands for sure 🙏❤️
I understand how you feel on the longing for nature and hawaii's beauty. Give it time. You will discover beauty of where you are now when its time. I miss home too but living on the Ninth Island ( Vegas) helps get plenty kine food, venues to remind you of da Aina - no worries, just get home wen you can
BRAH FR. I understand what you felt! I went on a trip to Europe and I tell you, I really did miss Hawaii! It didn't down in me until 3 days into the trip that I took home for granted. Europe was nice and all but it didn't compare to Hawaii.

Mee too, and I'm a mixture too (Mamale from western France and Dadde from southern Silesia, now southern Poland). I was born halfway inbetween these familyroots and after marrying a Swabian girl with adorable mom in law, I definitely stay glued to western Bavaria now although I still feel often that strange drive to go elsewhere which they call "Fernweh" here, especially in winter... If one day you got the opportunity to travel to swabian or bavarian lands, let me know your @-address cuz we always have a bed for migrating birds and a plate for the poor ( la place du pauvre) in our dining room... Even an Italiano used it for more than a year and my knowledge of the italian language got quite boosted in that time, for free of course and quite automatically, I mean without learning by heart like in painful school with annoying teachers, but even years later, my italian knowledge is still higher nowadays... ;-)). Foreign guests are the best and most sympathetic teachers... ;-)
