Just found this a few minutes ago. Wish I'd found it sooner! I've been trying to make flowers for my sister's dog grooming business. She puts them on the collars of the dogs after grooming, and I think she'll love these roses.
Oh my goodness! Thank you soooo much for this simple, easy to follow, and beautiful tutorial!! I have wasted countless hours and materials just trying to get one flower even remotely close to looking ok! Following you, I got it on the very 1st time! I'm making a boho style headband for my neices baptism pictures and was just about to give up. Now I'm finished! I can't thank you enough. I'll be looking at more of your work as you are simply amazing! Tisha
I tried sooo many other tutorials and failed... And then u saved me, with simple and beautiful technique. Thank u very much. I really appreciate you for the great explanations. Thank you again.
This looks much easier than all the other tutorials I have watched so far. Im going to try this this evening. Thank you so much for such a clear way to do this.
I am making different types of fabric flowers for my painting mixed media art. This is another type of flower I will be making! All the same kinds would have been boring! Good video and clear instructions!
Truly Aamazing and ingenious Dear Mrs Tailor's Daughter. I watched myriads of videos and yours is outstanding! Clear concise straight to the point best instructions, Thank you soo very much
I love making these flowers too, they are so soft and pretty. thanks for sharing as it inspires me to do some more, it is a relaxing activity and you end up with something to show for it!! blessings Violet
Hi you would have to sew them to a comb or clip. I have not used these for hair clips. I use them to embellish my lace and fabric crafts. Thanks for watching.
After looking at several videos on making roses out of fabric, I found your video so easy to understand and follow. Thanks so much for sharing it! I like the look of the puffy big roses made with what looks like a knit/jersey fabric. Have you ever made one?
You can really use any fabric you like even cotton. However, the chiffon and satin fabric makes the flowers lighter and fluffier. Thanks for watching. xx Fern
I am making my own ball gown for the role of Meg from Little Women; how would i attach these flowers to a dress and do you have a tutorial for leaves as well?
Hello. The flowers are easily just sewn on. Put the needle through the wrong side of the dress and through to where you want to place the flower so the flower will stay straight up after sewing. No sorry I don’t have a tutorial for leaves. But my suggestion would be to use satin that can be burned on the edges. Cut out leaf shapes and singe the edges with a tea light flame so they don’t unravel. I believe I have a video where I do that to make flowers. Be careful to not burn yourself. Use forceps or large tweezers to hold your leaves. Good luck with your dress and role as Meg. That is awesome. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for sharing this cloth rose technique. I want to decorate an archway for a photo opportunity at a park with friends and family. Can you make a archway out of cardboard or 2-liter bottles?
I have never used these flowers on anything you would need to wash. I use them to embellish fabric albums, journals, and crafts. As I said, they can be sewn by hand rather than gluing if you are using them on a garment. Thanks for watching.
Do you mean a 7 inch thick rose? You would need about 7 1/2 inches wide of fabric and the length as long as you wish. I would probably use at least 2 1/2 feet long by 7 1/2 inches wide. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching.
Ty, i tried growing flowers, but ants keep taking them and i really want flowers! Its soooo hot in CA too, im struggling to keep anything alive. Ill make these, attach to sticks and put in vases and spray with essential oil sprays that insects hate. Im getting flowers one way or the other 😡
Made From Ashes Yes you could sew them together but it’s just a lot harder because the centre gets thick as you go along. It becomes too difficult to get the needle through but you can try it. Or you can use fabric glue although it doesn’t bond as quickly as hot glue. I find hot glue the best. Thanks for watching.
Shaly Joseph Ayalookunnel Yes of course you can use thread but as the flower gets larger it becomes harder to sew it. I find the glue is easy and fast. It does not come apart once the glue is dry.
