- In this video, we share our honest review of the Rossignol Super Blackops 98, a ski that’s marketed as playful and versatile but revealed itself to be stiff, aggressive, and built for powerful skiers.
Our Key Takeaways:
🔸 Performance: This ski thrives at high speeds and in demanding conditions, offering excellent stability and edge hold.
🔸 Feel: Despite claims of being soft and playful, we found it to be stiff and uncompromising, catering more to aggressive skiers who love to charge hard.
🔸 Best For: Advanced to expert skiers who prefer a ski with precision and power, rather than a forgiving ride.
Specs Recap:
98mm Waist Width for versatility across conditions.
Titanal Beam & Poplar Core for a responsive, damp ride.
Freeride Rocker for float and edge control, though the stiffness might surprise you.
If you’re looking for a ski that can keep up with your most intense lines and doesn’t back down from a challenge, the Super Blackops 98 might be your perfect match.

I've had these for couple of seasons now. I found when the snow is cold, hard and firm, you really have to be aggressive on them. However in softer snow they really come alive and are super playful and fun then. Great in light less dense powder too.
