    This was wonderful. Thank you Nicole! Will start tonight. I have chronic daily headache/NDPH and after reviewing the various materials on TMS I'm convinced it's the cause. This channel has been extremely helpful and I'm seriously grateful.

    Hi Nicole, thanks for sharing all these informations. I like the way you explain it, it's rreally easy to understand. I have read Sarno's book 2-3 years ago, but still after reading it, I felt better, but symptoms came back. I guess I didn't fully understood how to apply it in my daily life. I've been dealing with back, shoulder, neck pain, tension headaches, anxiety, panic attacks and bouts of insomnia for more then 10 years. Anyways, I have been journaling for the last week everyday and spitting out everything that pisses me off in my childhood, daily life and personality. But since I started, I feel more angry during the day about anything. Is this normal because I've been repressing all these years and I just opened the blowout valve? Or am i focusing too much on what is pissing me off? Will it ease off you think? Thanks for your time and have a nice day!

      Sometimes it gets worse before it gets better.
      Reading Sarno’s book Healing Back Pain, journaling and listening to some of Sarno’s interviews on TH-cam has completely removed my pains (not only back pain) that I had for many years I’m well since November 2019.
      I praise God for having been introduced to Dr Sarno’s work!!

I've watched your TH-cam videos and I think I understand journalspeak and have started it, but now hearing this I'm wondering if I'm missing something, and that that is why nothing has changed for me yet. Please tell me what I need to read. Thank you!!

      This is a late reply I know, but I wanted to offer an analogy that might help. If you imagine that you fell over as a kid, grazed your knee and got a load of grit in it - obviously that would hurt. Now ideally, you'd go get it fixed, the grit would be taken out and you'd have some ointment put on it maybe. However, if the pain was so unbearable that you just had to ignore and repress it. The skin on the knee would heal, but the grit would still be in there. If you *really* wanted to get that knee full healed, you'd unfortunately need to open up the wound again - which after years of ignoring it, would hurt! It would cause physical pain again, BUT you get to excavate the grit, then the skin can heal again.
      This is kind of how I see any emotional work, when it triggers a flare of emotional or physical pain. Sometimes, when your body realises you are listening again - it turns the volume up massively, just to make sure you don't stop listening!
      I don't know if that helps, or even where you are at 5 months since your initial comment, but I wanted to share my thoughts from my own work/experience/mentoring around mind-body healing. Good luck x

    I don't believe journaling works for me. I think my pains are caused by fear only. Fear that it will never go away. That’s what happened. It never went away. Self-fulfilling prophecy I'm sure I have TMS. I only found out two months ago after 25 years of chronic pain. I don’t look for suppressed emotions from the past, but focus on my emotions in the here and now. In addition, I work on my mindset (no fear, but acceptance and trust).

    • @yelesomeus4534
      @yelesomeus4534 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So can’t you journal about your current fears etc surely it will work the same. I also wonder if you have suppressed things in your past , nobody has a perfect life, even small things can affect us at times. A harsh word or the pressures you put on yourself maybe??

    • @wimkrol2233

      @@yelesomeus4534 The fear involved the pain itself. The fear that the pain will never go away. I have completely overcome that fear. That's why I don't need journaling. No, of course nobody has a perfect life, but suppressed emotions don't bother me. I don't suppress any emotion. I am convinced of that. Sarno was right, but there's more to it than just suppressed emotions. Focus and constant fear are the cause of my TMS. In addition, I am a perfectionist. Thanks for your message.

    • @LauraPalmerD

      If you have a chronic hand pain that comes from TMS/mindbody and that (hand pain) is the issue you are seeking help for, Dr. Sarno and other TMS/mindbody doctors/therapists suggests that don't let the pain scare you or hold you back, do it anyways, resume to activities as you would if you didn't have pain (run/walk if you have back or leg pain, write if you have hand/arm pain etc!). If your hands are messed up because for example it is legit broken or you have a disability (paralyzed, lost some fingers, whatnot, sorry I don't know all reasons one may not be able to use their hands), therefore it is not TMS/mindbody and you are seeking help for another chronic pain, I would try recording. I have definitely read it in mindbody books that it is an option tough writing is preferred, in fact, most suggest handwriting over typing. Eg. my husband as carpal tunnel and other related issues. He is not open to this work, however, if he was, I would definitely suggest him to actually write or type versus voice record!
