Grandiose ! Très rare qu'une artiste lyrique arrive à concilier son grand art avec une chanson populaire ! Et c'est très très réussi ! Bravo et Merci pour ce petit bijou !
@@canterlevi no, no, non-classical music needs only chest voice in this tessitura (even up for F above middle C) head voice in songs like this is powerless and ridicolous.
Dávid Müller I think we are talking about the same thing but using different words. She is using her middle voice. Chest voice is for middle C and below. I’m a mezzo and a music teacher. If she were using her chest voice she’d be belting, which isn’t what this song requires. If she sang it in a lower key, she’d use more of her chest voice, but THAT would sound wrong. I’ve sung this song myself and used my middle voice. She’s not using her head voice. First head voice starts at third-space C in the treble clef and goes up. At around G, you arrive at your second head voice, and above that, your whistle register.
@@canterlevi In professional classical singing chest needs to sound ALWAYS in every note, no matter how high or low. Pop singers switch to chest and to head, whereas classical singers need to sustain both in each and every note of their diapason.
This song hold such power that it encourage you to visit Paris! Love this!

😍 Edith Piaf incarnate. Oh, goodness gracious. Brava, Ms DiDonato 💐
Probably one of the most beautiful melodies ever written.
Wow, wonderful, beautiful!
This is music making as only Joyce Didonato can do.

PRECIOSA VERSION
The credit list under the video frame doesn't name the arranger.
Interessante
I was a mezzo before
If you want have some fun. Check some videos with trained opera singers making parody of one great song after another.
Classical sopranos shouldn't sing cafe music! Just go listen to Edith.
Not a patch on the original. Edith Piaf had a unique voice
I am the only one who's missing some chest?
and. mistakes
the song needs only chest voice. it's not a lyric classical song.
Dávid Müller The arrangement is for the middle voice, not chest voice. Chest voice is for middle C and below.

Classical voice doesn't tune in jazz. She would better sings in pop voice
fxcktherules What does that even mean?
Nope. Absolutely not.
what? why?
