Nice song selamawit, original song was Eritrean and she asked the writers permission and he approved. So selamawit introduced this sone with a new Amharic lyrics so the Ethiopians can enjoy it too. Now thanks to her and the original singer(wedi tkabo) the habesha(eritrean and Ethiopian) are enjoying it. Music is supposed to keep nations close together and that's exactly what is happening. What surprises me most is that few Eritreans and Ethiopians don't want to concede that they are the same people who share the same culture, religion and historical origin. I'm Eritrean and born from Eritrean father and mother. The reason why I'm calling my self Eritrean is that because of the political border that separates me from Ethiopia. But that doesn't mean that we are different people. North and south Koreans are not different people. They are same people who share the same culture, language and origin. They are just separated by political borders. The same is true with Eritrean and Ethiopians. So, let us not be naive. Eritreans and Ethiopians deserve to live in mutual respect and peaceful environment. We deserve to have strong economic ties that shares the same currency. We deserve to look forward together. That is the only thing that makes us and our region stronger.

Historically, tribes were competitive but friendlier to each other than today. European, Dutch and Romans taught Akebulan people to argue who had the good hair, nice skin, better government etc. Ife melanin-filled people around the world united, racist white people could not stand against us.
I think little is known about Ashebir, the composer, as compared to others who are in the same profession. But, he is such a great composer. Even if she is not the original singer of this song, she had done well. I love it.
@@desta578 first of all the Traditional music Tigrinja belongs to us all Eritrean and Tigray then when it’s comes to habesha we have the same based beats, it’s called “Knit Yared” Wedi Tukabo himself said that. When it comes to music we Eritrean produced the most and best music that many Amhara and Tigray remixed it, those singers are some of the most recognized Eritrean in Ethiopia, Tekle Tesfazghi, Yemane Barya, Abrar Osman, Wedi Tukabo, Abraham Afewerki, Bereket Mengstab, Sami Berhane, Yesuf Saied etc one or more song of those artists got remixed by Ethiopian singers
@@crownstore4897 You should say, "This is An Eritrean song covered by Selamawit. You don't say "Copy" or like some Ignorant say "She stole". If you say "Copy" or Stole" you are lying unless you have proof that she Copied it, without following proper procedure. Think before you open your Mouth. Don't embarrass us.
the lyrics in the original Tigrinya version are so powerful and express what love does to a man. When you love you give the most precious gift, literally rip your chest open and give your heart. I did not hear the equivalent words in the plagiarized Amharic version.
The original singer, our beloved Eritrean brother-Wedi Tikabo, is also part of this version of the song and it is not plagiarized. Check out some of the information above. It just shows the bond, love, respect that we have for one another, and please try to remain positive and appreciative, as we are one people living in two different countries.

I still can't believe she stole the song😩😩😩

Imhotep Genius, read the second sentence in my comment for the translation of the Tigrinya version. Telling the fact is not complaining.
Many thanks to Yohannes Tekabo to bring this music in this beutiful way.
