Beautiful scenery. Reminds me of when I was a kid my parents were on vacation and we went through Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. I can still see them in my mind. I'm now 75 years old. Enjoy your travels.
My last actual visit to Jasper, 2018, was during the tail end of winter, I was invited by another hostel guest to see Maligne Canyon. Absolutely stunning, and very cold! As was the town where their Pride Week is held in April. I stumbled across various events including the Via Rail party held at the station when my train was delayed over 12 hours. Some passengers left - their loss. I kept warm and fed. One of the best solo, and train trips, I have had.

So happy to have this video pop up! I grew up in Jasper and w the recent devastating wildfires, the landscape surrounding, and within the town, has changed so much. It’s so sad and surreal. Mount Edith has always been a fave drive of mine so I’m sad you didn’t get to drive it. The wildfire impacted that whole area including the campgrounds. It’s nice to have videos like yours to remember how it looked so thank you 🙏

I grew up in the Netherlands and in the summer we used to sit on the terraces for the cafés until 10:30 because it would still be light out..not so much in Upstate NY.

What an adventure! I drove from Jasper, to Lake Louise and Banff several years ago and the only wild life we saw was 1 sheep and 6 elk! You aware so lucky. Safe travels 😘

I just returned from Jay Cooke State Park in northeastern Minnesota, a bit south of Duluth. My scenery pales in comparison to yours. There is a rapid water adventure company in nearby Carlton, MN, but we’ve had so little rain that the local hydro is diverting most of the St. Louis River to the hydro plant. No wildlife other than the loud children in the next campground. Duluth has rebuilt its waterfront and I bicycled that. Those few days were priceless. Keep those adventures coming.
@@ExploringCanadaInfo The historic Duluth buildings are less evident from the Lakewalk Trail, but Fitger’s is pretty obvious. The trail was busy, so I had to focus on my immediate situation. I have noticed those buildings during previous trips to Duluth. Public Television aired a program about Lost Duluth a while ago. That was very informative. I recommend that program. Safe travels to you.

I just returned from Jay Cooke State Park in northeastern Minnesota, a bit south of Duluth. My scenery pales in comparison to yours. There is a rapid water adventure company in nearby Carlton, MN, but we’ve had so little rain that the local hydro is diverting most of the St. Louis River to the hydro plant. No wildlife other than the loud children in the next campground. Duluth has rebuilt its waterfront and I bicycled that. Those few days were priceless. Keep those adventures coming.

@@ExploringCanadaInfo The historic Duluth buildings are less evident from the Lakewalk Trail, but Fitger’s is pretty obvious. The trail was busy, so I had to focus on my immediate situation. I have noticed those buildings during previous trips to Duluth. Public Television aired a program about Lost Duluth a while ago. That was very informative. I recommend that program. Safe travels to you.
