If this was going to be a regular thing for you, a satellite phone would be a worthwhile investment. I knew guys who would run with them on the winter roads. Back in the early 2000s airtime was extremely expensive for them, I don’t know if that’s changed.
I was fearful a black bear would show up while you were underneath the truck 😅, happy you’re safe!
It's good to see another Canadian doing RGN since Sergie is trying to do Uber eats.
Much respect for Sergie and all he accomplished in life.
Like you, Trucker Josh, I'm not wild about driving on gravel roads... hate the dust, the vibration and the stones that fly up. I like your OCD behavior concerning your load being secured when you drive down the road. It's always a good thing to check and double check your chain tightness. The scenery was beautiful and Ol' blue did an admirable job despite the air hose popping off the gear splitter. Drive safely, Trucker Josh.
Yes Josh we saw the Blue Line, it was the only clean part on the truck from your hand being in it. Glad you got it fixed and where able to roll and not needing a service call.
Road looks better than the mine roads in northern Saskatchewan ! Running a super B flatdeck close to 63000 kgs over about 800 km round trip on gravel and 9 trips out of 10 something breaks so you have to get pretty good at bush fixing. Tires, brake pots, air lines and fittings, suspension leveling arms..... and dust, or mud when it rains. Not for everyone and likely knocked a few miles off Old Blue's life but as you say- the pay cheque has to be worth it !!!
Some places are a pain until you realize nature needs them to be that way to be healthy. High water tables is one reason for using gravel. Especially if it freezes. Beavers work helps prevent fires and attracts lots of wildlife. Of course we have to strike a balance. Leaving some places wet. Where you want dry, its necessary to build correctly and constantly maintain those gravel roads where pavement wouldn't be efficient. Sometimes pavement isn't the answer. Most of my childhood I was bounced around some of South America's gnarliest roads. It's nice to travel easy, but also interesting when it's not so much. Thanks for taking us along. Here's to not getting spoiled rotten. Good ol Blue. Great videos, Josh! You're a very good driver. I mean it.
Goodness that pin should've broken off, it's a tuff feller
At least you had decent gravel road one way.
Loved this video. Thank you for showing your load and Explaining your plans to secure your load ❤
Next time when it happens, cut quarter inch a hose off and push it back in
You know if you or fellow truckers run up that road often starlink is a good tool to have if your doing remote work ! Wifi access
When you’re in the middle of nowhere mechanical skills come in handy! Great videos
Nice filler music today! Heard some Blues riffs in there.
I can't believe people throw trash out like that(@32:00)unacceptable!
Good to hear that the big soft spot in the road, ~15 km East of Split Lake, has been fixed. Right on the apex of the curve. Thought it was going to take the front end out of the pickup truck one spring.
Best wishes.
Wow. That's a long dirt road. Thank goodness it wasnt too rough. It looked like it may have rained recently and got pretty compacted. Poor Blue is definitely gonna need a bath. I hate beaver. I remember how bad they were on my grandpa's forty acres chewing and falling trees across the roads through our woods to make dams. We had to have the Dept of Natural Resources come in. They ended up blowing a huge dam apart because it was blocking a waterway off almost Completely that ran through the property. Oh YOU LOOK tired friend. I hope you sleep well.
That extra $ money you’re getting for that trip, could very well be more than offset by extra $$ wear and tear / expenses on Old Blue.
Good video, I like the uniqueness of the load, the remoteness, and the scenery. 👍
This was a good movie haha...
I think I’d be flushing that transmission after driving down the gravel road with the splitter line not in the push lock fitting. Could be dust and/or gravel in there now. Don’t want that to mess up the tranny.
Great vid!!! Thanks Josh from Indiana
I learned a long time ago on gravel or deert roads if you can drive on the left side off the road. It will be not as ruff to run on. Josh
Kewep flipping that switch, and break it again. Then when you can't fix it, look in the mirror and make the appropriate comment to yourself!🤣🤣🤣
Ole Blue is going
to need a good
bubble bath after
that trip. And his
undercarriage also.
Its good that you
could fix your high
range spliter line
good
Keep on trucking! Great video!
I see you did end up strapping the underside of the platform on the end of the boom. Great job !!! Glad the road wasn't to rough.
Such a cool drive. One of my bucket list trips is to take the train to Churchill.
Awesome trip Josh thanks for sharing.
Hi Trucker Josh looks like you had a nice trip the scenery looks really great have a safe trip back home
Talk about desolation. There is basically no humans around. Surprised you didn't see any Squatches. If you would have gotten stuck, they could have pushed you out. Have a restful evening! And thanks for being the Big Blue Bug Catcher!
Great content
Do you ever worry about a dangerous wildlife encounter when you're out walking around the truck? Years ago a buddy of mine was delivering fuel in Yosemite National Park in California and had to run into a phone booth to avoid a black bear.
That’s why you should carry a gun .
@@EdgeOfNowhere2024 perhaps anyone who goes into the back of beyond and dust so frequently should get a satellite phone. Any part of Manitoba connected to the North American road network is so far south of even the Arctic Circle that many satellite phones should work.
Black bears are generally scared of you and will avoid humans unless they have cubs too close to you
All I can say, is WOW!!! Thx for the ride along with you Josh. Man, u had a hard day. I say a prayer a prayer a u Josh and all of the truck drivers out there. What do you have to eat ? God bless you and your family. Bye for now from New Jersey.🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦👍👍👍
The only good thing about winter in Manitoba, Potholes are filled in.
For logging.
Heavy Haul Josh, l like it👍
Glad you and ole blue made it safely off the gravel road❤
Just buy Blue some new chrome to make up for the punishment.
I totally agree about those bumps, they'll put up a sign for a tiny little bump and then 20 mi down the road when there's a huge bump has no signage it makes me scratch my head......
Hey Josh hope everything is ok with u . That sure was a long day. Standing by for the next video. Keep them coming. Be well Captain Josh. God Blessings to you and your family. Bye for now from New Jersey. 🇺🇸🇨🇦👍
Pack in a pair of cover all's to wear when working on the big machine.
I put 6 chains and a strap on the basket when I haul a 135’ boom lift
Hello from northern Michigan in the states
Weather is too extreme for pavement and maintenance would be crazy expensive. Canadian Tom Cochrane released the song "Life is a Highway" in 1991. It went #1 in Canada and #6 in the US. It's a great tune. Check it out sometime.
I love your Trucking i dream to come work there.
Did you not do this also in the winter when everything was covered with snow 😉
Oh the Dust
Great 👍👍👍
Maybe they could pave the road with bugs instead of rocks and it would be smoother?
2 👍👍 up bro stay safe out there 🤞💕🥾🇺🇸🍼🐶🐕🦴🍗🍀
That’s a lot of gravel road. 😳
U came here in winter right? - Cool road for filming - Can't pave the roads as Ukrainian needs the $$ :) Good one
Lot af swamp !
Top🎉
Let the music play Barry White!
Paved roads would never work.Too much freezing and thawing.
Oh they'd work. Alaska, NWT, and Yukon all have paved roads. Not to mention all the paved roads in Russia... if they can do it, so can we. No excuses
I will too know where taxes pay big mining company went right.this is insane.i work leaf rapids many years ago ruttan lake mines this very sad.
Josh, Do you use the strobe lights on that dirt road?
"How's the condition of the road?"
Wear your seat belt or you're fall out the truck window...
How did tje black hawk drive tires handled the long dirt road. How did they wear on the dirt road?
Is this the same road that you stopped and checked on a truck that was off the road last winter?
Yes it is
No Dog Vlog!

Does your father-in-law still work for the same company as you do?
Yes he does
Who is the artist of your music?

All you do is complain, every day is the same with you. If it’s not the road it is all other drivers, the only thing you have is a cute little boy and good luck with him
We ALL complain about the same things with our jobs every day. It's just human nature. Josh just chooses to share it with the world. Get over it.
It's part of the vlog. I made it, I'm well aware :) You're complaining about my complaining too so I guess we're both complainers 🤷♂️😆
Don't like it don't watch ever hear of mute
We follow u on a del..but all the sudden u skip the del but then u show the next pu lot of editing
Repent to Jesus Christ for your sins, you heathens and pagans!
Why ? We are going to die anyway so why does it matter
@@EdgeOfNowhere2024
Well the flesh dies but your spirt will live for eternity if you accept Christ and follow Gods law the decision is yours it’s up to you to decide
Sorry, but I can't really pave the road because of the freezing and thawing would constantly break the pavement, in my opinion
Oh they can make it work. Alaska, NWT, and Yukon all have paved roads. Not to mention all the paved roads in Russia... if they can do it, so can we. No excuses
