Thanks for watching our review of Cedar Ridge! What’s your go-to Cedar Ridge product, or is this your first time hearing about them? Let’s chat about all things whiskey below! 🥃🔥
I live just down the road from the distillery. They are located in Swisher. My favorite bottle from them is the Double Barrel. Very easy sipping. If you get your hands on it, please try.
First off the wife and I enjoy watching your reviews and blind tastings. Keep up the great work. The Port cast bourbon finish is our favorite so far. We live 1 1/2 hours away from Cedar Ridge and plan on helping one of our local liquor stores do a store pick. Can't wait. Cheers SLB!!
Cedar Ridge just released 2 more finished whiskeys last week. It was announced on their Facebook page. The cafe at the distillery puts out some fantastic food also. I am awaiting delivery of their double barrel bourbon and rye from my grandson.
Cedar Ridge has one of the best bang for the buck double oaked, or "double barreled" bourbons in the game. Not just biased because I'm in Iowa either. Great brand. Still waiting to be able to grab a honeyed release if I can catch one.
My favorite distillery by far. They make fantastic products. Also fun fact they are the #1 selling bourbon in Iowa since 2020. Outselling all the legacy distillery’s such as beam and makers. First craft producer to do that in there home state.
Glad to see you go more in depth on Cedar Ridge as I grew up in Cedar Rapids. I enjoy your reviews from Bukavu, South Kivu, Democratic Republic of the Congo!
CR is an hour south of me. Let me know if you make the trip. I would love to meet up with you guys. 28 bottles on my shelf. Some are picks and some are barrel proof. I have 7 Ryes (which are delicious) a few are Port cask finished and one Honey finished. Their Quintessential Single Malts are very good as well, and fun they are in the 92-118 proof range. I am lucky enough to have a Batch #1 which I sip on occasionally. Oh man, I love their Wheat whiskey. . They do a real nice job for sure. They built a few new rickhouses in the past couple years to attempt to keep up with demand. Cheers!
Thank you for the review. I’m not sure when I’ll see this in NC but I did have a friend pick up the regular OCD5 from Glenn’s Creek. Very solid pour but I wasn’t lucky on the premium version availability. Another distillery review option I’d like to see is Ben Holiday out of Missouri.
I live nearby and got a local store pick 7yr Rye from Cedar Ridge that's extremely good. Should have grabbed a second bottle while they were available. $45. Got two bottles of the barrel proof at $39... Great value.
I still haven't seen any cedar ridge locally but I'll be keeping an eye out! I don't think I've ever seen you guys try any, but wheelers raid is another small distillery near me in tennessee that has some very affordable and quality bottles (at least to my pallet). One of my local stores sells their sherry finish cask strength for $28! I think they're normally in the $40-50 range but for a tasty 122 proof 6+ year bourbon it's hard to beat. I'm already on my 3rd bottle!
If you do the American Single Malt Blind, you need to try to get something from Sons Of Liberty out of Rhode Island. I visited there when I was on vacation over the summer and it is fantastic! I brought home 3 different varieties from them, one was a peated American Malt Whiskey and it is so delicious, I will be heart broken when it is gone!
I’ve got the barrel proof bottle. Haven’t tapped into it in a while. I think I know what tonight’s pour. I pour Green River a lot. They’re overall budget friendly, too. 👍🏼👍🏼 to the budget-friendly distillers/producers!! ❤️
Please do the ASM blind. Huge ASM fan with Westward and Balcones being my top 2. Quintessential is good but not quite there for me but I like the pricing and online availability of Cedar Ridge
I would love it you would come to Cedar Rapids, IA and do a barrel pick at Cedar Ridge. Thanks for doing a video on this distillery. I am fortunate to live in Cedar Rapids and have this distillery near by.
Would love to see a blind with single malt whiskeys. I will say that I have really been enjoying the Cedar Ridge double oaked SLB pick that I got. Very nice sipper.
Great show but recently picked up the barrel proof. Tried it twice now and it is easily one of the worst pours I have had. It is young and very disappointing. I get just young corn and a touch of oak. Zero vanilla and grape. Extremely disappointing. Maybe the small batch is better.
This, for some reason, sounded like a sponsored commercial to me. You guys are truly amazing and put out some content that can’t be matched, but this sounded too positive, even for you guys…
Respectfully, if they don’t have mainstream distribution in Texas of all places yet, they probably shouldn’t be showcased yet. Just my opinion. Texas is kind of a big market. And they aren’t in any of the main stores here yet (or any at all I’ve seen). But kudos to Cedar Ridge on supposedly good whiskey. I’ve been waiting for a NULU disterlly review. Would love to see that!
When it’s only one distillery’s whiskeys on the bar top and little to no critiques, it comes across to me as an infomercial. Having other micro distilleries to compare these with would be great.
@@haugkster1And my comment was on the nature of distillery reviews and how they come across to me as well as a response to their asking if the viewing audience would like to see a blind comparing these to other comparable whiskeys. Are you okay?
$35 for 80-ish proof young craft whiskey is NOT a bargain that you are making it out to be. Either your judgement is wayyyy off or you are being paid to cheerlead for them. This channel is going down the drain.

Gotta go with the Port Rye
I live here in Iowa and I’m telling you guys, YOU NEED the Cedar Ridge Double Barrel Rye! I’m on my second bottle since the beginning of the month.
I live just down the road from the distillery. They are located in Swisher. My favorite bottle from them is the Double Barrel. Very easy sipping. If you get your hands on it, please try.
A friend of mine picked up 3 Slipknot whiskeys from the distillery. They were fantastic!
I really like their bottled in bond rye

A friend and I go down for lunch and a flight of bourbon quite often.

Cedar Ridge and Driftless Glen are both fantastic craft offerings.
Driftless Glen was a miss for me. Tried their bourbon (96 proof) and had too much medicinal cherry. Couldn’t even force myself to drink it.
I’ve bought Still Austin Barrel proof bourbon for $49.99 at Total Wine, but other than that you’re right, barrel proof is usually closer to $60-70
This is a distillery I have seen but never bought. I might have to try these out over this holiday weekend.
Cedar Ridge has amazing offerings and best prices

I had a single malt once when I was down for an auction in Marshalltown, and it was good, but haven't seen it since.
Cedar Ridge the first one you started with is $26.99 @ Total Wine in Greenwood Indiana.

Living in PA my chances of tasting any of these is slim to none. Thanks for the heads up.
I'm in PA and have ordered several online through their web-store
I'll have to give them another shot. I got a SiB store pick from Binny's last year and could barely drink it.
I bet a bottle of Cedar Ridge has never even seen a liquor mart anywhere near Winnipeg! Always a fun watch....no matter what! Cheers SLB!
Cedar Ridge is located in Swisher, IA, just south of Cedar Rapids
Binny’s in Chicago has their core line up and some of their special releases! Fantastic whiskey. Thank you for the review

I just picked up a ocd 5 premium and a rock castle thanks to you all. Cheers!
Where did you find an OCD premium sitting around? It was a distillery only release and sold out in minutes…
@ I got it from the online release. Just took me a while to pick it up
Port finished rum is excellent, I have a Ron Barcelo port finished and it is 🤤
absolutely would love to see a video on single malts!
Fantastic information. Sounds worth trying!
Their American Single Malt is fantastic!

Always up for good for a good price. Thanks. Cheers🥃
Yes, please do more American single malt stuff
Our “Total Wine and More” in Denver, CO carries the barrel proof.
I’ve got the barrel proof bottle. Haven’t tapped into it in a while. I think I know what tonight’s pour. I pour Green River a lot. They’re overall budget friendly, too. 👍🏼👍🏼 to the budget-friendly distillers/producers!! ❤️
I’ll definitely be on the lookout for them.
Please do the ASM blind. Huge ASM fan with Westward and Balcones being my top 2. Quintessential is good but not quite there for me but I like the pricing and online availability of Cedar Ridge
I Love the DO Pick I have from them!
Hope one day we will have American Single Malt in Thailand
I’m a big fan of Green River. Great stuff at a reasonable price. This sounds similar.
You guys should be a single malt video as well as a finished line up video!
We have them at Total Wine!
Really like Cedar Ridge Barrel Proof. Picked up one of the SLB picks that is fantastic. Cedar Ridge readily available at Binny’s in IL. 🥃
Their double barreled is fantastic!!
Waiting for a Double Oak bundle I ordered from Cedar Ridge can’t wait for them to come in
A Distillery Review would be fantastic!
Do the American Single Malt blind. They are my second favorite spirit.
Haven’t seen them yet, but hopefully they hit the shelves some day
Yeah , please do a American single malt blind !, that would be great
I vouch a sweet Carmel French oak finished rye from them. It’s solid
Thanks for telling the public about Wisconsin Dells, please come back to the great state of Wisconsin!
We have only the first one at my go-to Total Wine near Indianapolis - $27!
I would put Hard Truth Distillery in the top.5 small craft distillery.
Great video! Have you done a distillery review on Frey Ranch out of Nevada? Love their stuff.
Swisher Iowa is the location!
Was able to pick up the barrel proof for $19.99
I can not find Cedar Ridge anywhere here in the Northeast. Been looking for Amontillado.
Saved me some $$$ for a change!! lol. Nice!!
Try making an old fashion with it, maybe?
Great show but recently picked up the barrel proof. Tried it twice now and it is easily one of the worst pours I have had. It is young and very disappointing. I get just young corn and a touch of oak. Zero vanilla and grape. Extremely disappointing. Maybe the small batch is better.
Interesting 🤔🥃
Please do that blind!
Never seen one.
🎉🎉🎉
Don't tell people....
This, for some reason, sounded like a sponsored commercial to me. You guys are truly amazing and put out some content that can’t be matched, but this sounded too positive, even for you guys…
Can you review Calumet bourbon please

They clearly stated this video was a distillery review so that is why there is no other bourbons from other places in the video.

I have never paid $35 for a bottle. Granted, I live 20 min from them. We see their standard offering on sale for around $20 all the time.
