Astoria Underground / Butcher Shop:
Nearly 200 years ago the Town of Astoria Oregon was created, as the town grew larger the decision was made to build everything on top of a framework of massive wooden stilts to avoid the rising sea levels and those of the Columbia river. However tragedy struck In the summer of 1833, a huge fire destroyed a large portion of the town as well as its supports underneath. As nearly a century had passed, in 1922, history repeated itself and another fire broke out. This one much worse than the last. Now no one is sure after which fire the concrete underground network we see today was constructed, but what was created ended up becoming a subterranean network of tunnels, shafts, and even entire rooms and buildings…
Over the course of history, everything imaginable took place underneath the town. People had decided to live there in secret, or even open up fully operational businesses and welcome customers from above ground. On one hand there was opportunity and prosperity, on the other hand was a much darker and more treacherous side of Astoria’s underground. Bing a coastal town and majorly depended on work at sea, Shanghai was common practice and ran rampant here, murderers, thieves and kidnappers did untold things to people here. Even a rumor of hired hitmen working for those who needed something done and wanted it unnoticed.
This was and always will be one of the most memorable locations we have ever been to. A place kept secret for so long and which has remained out of touch for many investigators. We were given a unique opportunity to see what or who has been left behind beneath the streets of Astoria. This just might be our best investigation YET. Again a special thank you to Diana Gulley for allowing us to do this, we hope you all enjoy.

Abigail gave you a message for her son. After you hear ladies heeled shoes, you got the female "I am sorry" evp. A very intruiging investigation. It was nice to have Wyatt do the narration for a change. He has such a soft spoken, relaxing voice.

Yes, that's what I noticed too. Whenever Ryan said he was going in the solitary room, the spirit seemed as if it was desperate to keep him out of there...as if warning Ryan over and over not to go in that room.
I thought the exact same thing. The pyramid went red then the EMF went full red. If that isn’t a big NO then I don’t know what is.

I know it seems small in the grand scheme of ghost hunting, but I truly do appreciate how respectful and honest the guys are when they go into various spots. Understanding that these spirits may be either trapped, confused, angry or sad makes a world of difference. Other youtube ghost hunters will intentionally antagonize the spirits into action - they just politely ask. So, from one guy in Georgia - wonderful job to all involved with this channel, keep up the fantastic work and I look forward to more content in the future!

I know for a fact because I live in Astoria and did tours in Gulley’s Butcher shop basement..I have talked with the police, our mayor the Underground is barricaded off to the public and or homeless. No one can get down there.

Wow another Freakin awesome episode!! At 24:06 when Ryan says it felt like someone touched his arm you see an orb fly up to the ceiling from him. Also when you were in the dark room I had bad anxiety like something was done in that room bad like hangings or some kind of killing.

Also, I don't know if anyone else pointed this out yet, but I noticed earlier that the word device said "Peter" and then around 35:30 - while the camera is pointed at the yes/no device and K2 - the box behind those devices says "Peters" something. It also says something about being from Ohio, so there could be zero significance, just something I noticed. I can't wait until the next video!

I live in Astoria and worked in a building with the old underground access. The whole town is cursed. The worst time of my life was when I live in Astoria.

Yeah I wish they’d include the names of all the tracks they use in each episode
Though Astoria has its accent on the middle syllable: Ass-TOR-ee-ah, the family name is Astor (ASS-tor) with the accent on the first syllable. (Same with the compound word, "SPEAK-easy.") The first Astor would tramp through the northeast US, swapping items for furs from trappers. Eventually the Astor fur company was centered I think in NYC. The hunt for furs is how the Astors ended up out in the northwest. I think there was an Astor couple who died on the Titanic. They were a very famous, wealthy family. I forget but they probably diversified, buying land in NYC, or investing in oil or railroads. Not sure but they continued to be very wealthy. I never knew about these tunnels in Astoria. I have never been there, only in Vancouver, BC.

I also lived in Portland so ive been to the tunnels at a few different locations (Astoria was a day trip we did).
My parents lived in Astoria Oregon for many years and would often tell me stories of the tunnels when I came to visit my dad was a big fan of the history of the area and I'm so stoked to see you guys doing this investigation
Ghosts hate repeating themselves, but I heard a sincere woman's voice say, "I'm sorry", I wonder if that's the woman who committed suicide, makes me sad thinking she's maybe regretting her decision.

I have been watching you for about a year now and this video just popped up as a suggestion on TH-cam. I never clicked a video so fast. I used to live in Astoria and we would sneak in to the underground. It's quite the place to be and very nerve racking.
I know that I’ll be there to share the link video again and again and again till I give up, however I always late for posting the video on here from you guys and share on my Instagram and tag you guys because I trying my best to make it perfect as I can and share it with you. Sometimes I feel like I failed myself and afraid what happened, this is why I’m slow and taking my time to posted it. Idk if you’ve tried it, but I take out my headphones and use my watch to Shazam songs! Or if I’m on the laptop, I just use the phone app. I let it play for a few until it registers, then pause and get ready for the next song lol. That’s always helped me :) I know not everyone is able to do so, though! And I do wish they’d list the songs 🥲😅

This place is a block from my building, just went on the ghost tour today. Had a blast, didn't encounter anything paranormal but still enjoyed learning more about the dark history of the Astoria underground!

Great video as always, guys. One minor criticism is the use of an incidental sound when something happens. It can make hearing what you heard very difficult and often over-rides the noise / voice to the point it cannot be heard at all. The arrows / circles highlighting the figures or other manifestations are excellent and add to the overall experience. Don't get me wrong - I really dig what you do - I'd just like to be able to hear it easier with my own ears.
Guys I have to say...I have been watching gho/paranormal channels for years-since Most Haunted (UK..Yvette and gang) I've watched Zac and all the other channels available but wow...you're channel has grown so much. Your editing, choice of soundtrack, integrity is the best of them all. You don't exagerate an you always offer another option as what it could be. Well done keep it up . I think you're fab!
