With all due respect, do you think we treat farmed animals the way we would want others to treat us? Please look into what happens, for example, on a chicken factory farm or on a dairy factory farm. These poor animals live miserable lives and then are shipped off to either kosher or non kosher slaughterhouses. Then ask yourself if we are keeping that mandate or just giving it lip service. And finally, would you take a young child on a field trip to a factory farm or to watch a vulnerable and innocent animal having his/her throat slashed? I don't mean to be disrespectful but I have to get people to think about this issue or nothing will ever change. Not changing will have environmental, health and social repercussions.

Thank you for such an interesting and intelligent debate🙏 As a non believer, I believe in what Rabbi Friedman explained that we must bring God to Earth. To clean the mess he has created!!!
This concept of God has played in my mind since my teens years in a semi believing Islamic Iranian family. Those days I cal it Good years, we were a multi cultural and multi religious society, Sadly our world was shattered with rising of a cultish fundamentalist Ayatollahs regime.
Outside of Iran for years I was busy trying to educate myself and earn a living, but the thought of existence of God never left me. Till the time came to study Chinese Medicine/ philosophy. Then everything fell into place that, “I” made the God🪷
The earliest men created the unique God, part by part, after every disasters, he looked up towards the sky, because the Earth he was standing on was either rumbling with Earthquakes opening its mouth to swallow him or melted lava from the Volcano turn him to ashes or flood will carry him to the oceans or even Hurricanes will twist him around like a grain of sand. And if he was lucky and didn’t have those colossal scares in his primitive life. Then Rain wouldn’t come to feed his crops, or Hot Blazing Sun will cook him and his animals with his crops. Yes I, You, Us!!! Made the GOD. It makes sense to think that all the believes and subsequent religions stems from Hinduism( multiple Gods) then Brahmanism will develop . I agree strongly.❤️

Rabbi, I don't know if you will read this, but I was taught that Torah starts with letter Bet. The Bet (looks like a squared off C for those who don't know) means that we are not to look back, look up, look down, and only to look forward. Thus the Earth was here way long before G-d made us. Curious what you think of that.

Rabbi's should not try to go outside their expertise, certainly hearing a Rabbi practically say "The Torah IS a history book" is something no serious student of Judaism should come close to hearing. Playing lingustic games and semantics will not help, especially among people who see these from a mile away. The truth is these conversations will take at least an hour to really explain, and these methods won't make more Ben Shapiros... they'll make the people Ben rips apart. This is an amazing topic, completely mishandled.

I think that it's part of the reason I was guided from Christianity on to Judaism (as a Noachide), there was a moment when I made my first realization.
I would go to hell forever for G-d. I love Him. I think everything in my life went badly for ten years, but now look at me, I'm in the largest room in my group-home for disabled people, I have everything I need, I can get books, I have a good internet connection and I'm reasonably comfortable.
Hashem has blessed me with a life without work in exchange for all the suffering I've been through, without even being rich and therefore not a target of lawsuits. I am happy. That's all a man can ask for really, but I've been getting so much better as technology has advanced that I may be able to work from home, which I'm really looking forward to.

I think this fails to really address what a religion is. Absolutely on point on belief, but the legitimate reason why people don't believe in HaShem is that HaShem doesn't work on command. When people say they "believe" in science, they're just trying to say "we accept scientific findings as reliable", the semantics game only works if you assume people think that deeply into what words they use and what they describe. So the thing these people want addressed is something that they actually can only address for themselves. It's not the angle to look at this from if we're in any sort of "solution-focused" approach...

The track is A Tribute To The Israeli Defence Force and it is excellent - tuneful and forceful without being bombastic combined with a lovely lyric. I know next to nothing about the group but on investigation I see they've recorded a whole batch of Jewish related tracks such as Pesach, Yom Kippur, Bar Mitzvah, Israel Is Real, The 613 Mitzvot and probably others I don’t know about yet. Some of them feature Rabbi Moshe Bryski which is definitely a recommendation in itself.

    Verse for reference:
"No one alive will be considered righteous in His sight based on the legalistic observance of Torah commands, for what the Torah truly does is reveal to people how sinful they are."
This is a pitiable situation where the Jews are rejecting the reality of the truth.
A thought for a reasonable mind:
What happens when you follow the law and purify your soul from all evil? As stated in Leviticus 18:5:
"Keep My statutes and My judgments, for the man who does these things will live by them. I am the LORD."
You should live and not die. But why has no one been able to live and not die through the observance of the law and self-righteousness?
    As mentioned in Psalms 49:7-11:
"But no one has enough to buy back a life, and you cannot bribe God. You will never have enough money to pay for your own life. You will never have enough to buy the right to live forever and keep your body out of the grave. The wise die the same as fools and stupid people. They die and leave their wealth to others. The grave will be their new home forever."
You are in your fallen flesh - remember this. You cannot deny the statement in Romans 7:15-24:
"I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do, I do not do, but what I hate, I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do-this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!"
And so, As said in Deuteronomy 30:14:
"But the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may obey it."
    Romans 10:8-10:
"But what does it say? 'The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,' that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: that if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved."
    - A day is coming, You Jews will have to repent and acknowledge the truth that Jesus is the Promised Messiah (son of david / son of God)
As said in Zechariah 12:10 “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.

Jesus is the man who came down from heaven as the Word of God to preach the good news of forgiveness of sins by his sacrifice on the cross and the resurrection. This Rabbi's etymological deconstruction of Abraham and Brahmins is excruciatingly ignorant and, therefore, racist. I am shocked that, once again, ideologues are confusing Hindu concepts with their own. The last time a westerner attempted such etymological mind jitsu with a Hindu concept, the word was "Aryan". Ultimately, though, this Rabbi fails in his own analysis because Abraham's name was not Abraham until late in his life, but Abram cannot be contorted in Brahmin. In his opening remark, this Rabbi proclaims proudly he never recieved a higher education. It's never too late, Rabbi. May I suggest studying linguistics?

Now I see why they act and move as a group a certain way. They have no accountability, and they don't believe that even God can hold them accountable. They have corrupted the scripture. I am more affrim in my religion, which guides me in this world and holds me accountable to God for every action.

      In terms of accountability.
You make a huge assumption from one discussion.
G-d says chose life by keeping my laws etc, its not otherwise you will go to he'll. It's a relationship. He is considered a creator, our king , our father.
We behave in this manner. But all people are different.
Just as a father punishes his kid for doing something "naughty" a good father does this for his own good.
Just as a king gets to make the law and we have to obey, or we die..
It's more about the reverence we supposed to have ,not the death.
Just as a creator creates something new.
We constantly remind ourselves without G-d we are nothing and don't exist.

It is simple. We are here temporarily. We have a choice to obey God or not. Thise who obey God go to heaven, those who don't go to hell. That is accountability, knowing that you

What should we say Avraham, our forefather, obtained by his own efforts? For if Avraham came to be considered righteous by God because of legalistic observances, then he has something to boast about. But this is not how it is before God! For what does the Tanakh say? “Avraham put his trust in God, and it was credited to his account as righteousness.”
Now the account of someone who is working is credited not on the ground of grace but on the ground of what is owed him. However, in the case of one who is not working but rather is trusting in him who makes ungodly people righteous, his trust is credited to him as righteousness.
In the same way, the blessing which David pronounces is on those whom God credits with righteousness apart from legalistic observances:
“Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven,
    whose sins are covered over.
Blessed is the man whose sin Adonai
will not reckon against his account.”
Now is this blessing for the circumcised only? Or is it also for the uncircumcised? For we say that Avraham’s trust was credited to his account as righteousness; but what state was he in when it was so credited - circumcision or uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision! In fact, he received circumcision as a sign, as a seal of the righteousness he had been credited with on the ground of the trust he had while he was still uncircumcised. This happened so that he could be the father of every uncircumcised person who trusts and thus has righteousness credited to him, and at the same time be the father of every circumcised person who not only has had a b’rit-milah, but also follows in the footsteps of the trust which Avraham avinu had when he was still uncircumcised.
For the promise to Avraham and his “seed’’ that he would inherit the world did not come through legalism but through the righteousness that trust produces. For if the heirs are produced by legalism, then trust is pointless and the promise worthless… The reason the promise is based on trusting is so that it may come as God’s free gift, a promise that can be relied on by all the seed, not only those who live within the framework of the Torah, but also those with the kind of trust Avraham had - Avraham avinu for all of us. This accords with the Tanakh, where it says, “I have appointed you to be a father to many nations.”
Avraham is our father in God’s sight because he trusted God as the one who gives life to the dead and calls nonexistent things into existence. For he was past hope, yet in hope he trusted that he would indeed become a father to many nations, in keeping with what he had been told, “So many will your seed be.”
His trust did not waver when he considered his own body - which was as good as dead, since he was about a hundred years old - or when he considered that Sarah’s womb was dead too. He did not by lack of trust decide against God’s promises. On the contrary, by trust he was given power as he gave glory to God, for he was fully convinced that what God had promised he could also accomplish. This is why it was credited to his account as righteousness.
But the words, “it was credited to his account . . . ,” were not written for him only. They were written also for us, who will certainly have our account credited too, because we have trusted in him who raised Yeshua our Lord from the dead - Yeshua, who was delivered over to death because of our offences and raised to life in order to make us righteous. (Romans chapter 4; Emissary Sha’ul)

If Judiasm is not a religion or a belief system then what is it? He says it's a way of thinking based on "facts", on "truth"? The rabbi says that the Torah is the truth. Isn't that a belief? He says the ancient Jews stood in front of Har Sinai and this is a fact, not a belief. Gd created a mature world. How does he "know" these things? How does that make any sense when our empirical senses and our logical brain tell us something else? Science and Judiasm can go hand in hand and the six days can be six time periods. Why pit one against the other? We perceive reality through our limited human perspective.

But if you don’t believe G-d said to do those things why are you doing them? If you actually reject the existence of G-d and you reject that G-d gave certain commands, would you follow his commands? I think not. You say, G-d is coming down and that he needs us to do certain things. Do you believe that? If so, isn’t that part of a set of beliefs? If not, why try to live like you do believe it?

@@zeveisenberger6605 That seems to me to be mere semantics. The Sinai encounter can’t been proven empirically and the good rabbi acknowledges in the video that he wouldn’t know how to substantiate it. He just says that it can be known because it happened. But he doesn’t really *know* that. He believes that. I’m sure a Buddhist would point out that altered states of mind that Buddhism offers can be detected on MRI. Christians would say the resurrection happened and is therefore knowable. Hindus claim various miracles took place and therefore should be knowable.
There are critical historians who deny that the encounter at Sinai ever took place. I wasn’t there. Nor is there hard proof. So, I don’t *know* it. I do believe it. Nor can we really say we *know* that the Torah is from G-d. That can’t be proved evidentially. You can’t even postulate it as a thing that could be *known* unless you first prove the existence of G-d, which he did not do in this sitting.
