You’re absolutely right. If you want an even more jarring example, look up images or clips from an anime called Seton Academy. Supposed to be a school of anthropomorphic animals, and only the men are actual animals. This has been a problem in a lot of fictional monster species, where the women look weirdly normal and the men have an actual monstrous design in comparison.
I mean to be fair, anti piracy Mario's female version is the only one that works, since yeah, it's just female Mario
@@theant4184 Yes, actual human or very humanoid characters are the exception. But many of the original characters are not super humanoid or human, so some of their gender-bent characters are a little jarring when next to each other.
