Hes a real legend. Escaping behind enemy lines under fire trying to save 2 pilots when he and his guy could have been fine only for him to likely survive is insane.
Leaving aside his poitical loyalies, - He was an incredibly talented, and courageous airman. Real balls, not just in the air, but on the ground aswell. I read his memoirs, - Mind blowing.
I had from another source that Rudel’s tank score was 519 & 17 in one day but whatever; his interpreted quote was “ you are only lost if you give up on yourself”. “He talked the talk but walked the walk”! Certainly a team player with charisma who garnered loyalty from his comrades & also an icon of a pilot to come out of WW2! Tarnished only by being an unrepentant Nazi though! An enjoyable, insightful & interesting narrative with some outstanding embedded archival video footage!
Currently flying a G2 with twin 37mm cannons obsessively in War Thunder. Averaging 6 missions a day. 560 ground targets destroyed so far but only 156 tanks. If Hans could do it, so can I. Great Vid. Thank you.
Marseille is very interesting guy. I tell everyone I meet to watch the Star of Africa and other videos about him. I wonder if he came back to Germany if he would not of tried to overthrow Hitler and get in eliminated.
Most likely the most skilled ww2 pilot, all categories. I know pilots like Marseille, Mölders, Galland, Hartmann etc could make a claim, but to survive for so long in such an under-powered and slow aircraft is nothing short of amazing. For those interested, look up Rudel's defeat of Soviet Ace Shestakov.
He’s the most determined man that ever lived in order to serve his country and his extraordinary family and experience saved the German army countless times in an effort to save Germany in WW2 He was the highest decorated soldier in the German airforce
This is a fairy tale for the public so they don't know that the US Army behaved like a bunch of gangsters. See my description for the facts of how it really was.
His wife selling Rudel's highest decoration , the Iron Cross with Diamonds, to a "private American collector"... Yeahn right ! Women will always be women....

What a warrior!!! That wife of his shoulda been forced to return Rudel's Knight's Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds; especially since he sacrificed enormously so much to earn the ONLY one awared.

It could have been a great documentary but oh well. Others have already made corrections to your narrative so I will not pile on that other than suggesting you make reservations to include dialing back the music volume.

An excellent soldier who loved his country.
Unyielding!
Yes, he certainly was. Donitz upbraided him....Rudel.....for continuing to disregard Hitler's wishes that he stop flying but he kept on.
A scoundrel who allegedly helped Dr Mengele to escape. For God's sake, stop with this ‘good Nadsee’ myth!

Every man dies not every man really lives comes to mind. His skill and bravery will be legendary among pilots forever.

He was the original “BAT-21” of the 20th century.
This should be a made into a movie.
Great video, thank you my friend.
As a teen I areas his book. He was a force to be reckoned with, continuing to fly even after losing his leg.

Narrator is amazing. Very interesting piece of history.
This Mans surrender exploit could make a great movie in it self .

Rudel , Galland, Marseille , Hartmann, etc , was the real aces in the sky. Like no one in other armies ! The same like tankers !

Superb video - research and presentation!
