After I was born from above I experienced a strange side effect. I had always loved to watch tv. After fully accepting God and our lord Jesus Christ I could not find anything on tv that was not tainted with corruption and sinful Everything I tried to find to watch made 46:52 me realise just how bad sin had encroached on every facet of life. nothing surpasses the Bible’s stories and lessons. The Bible has everything you would want . War stories , love stories, action , etc. I have come to realise that it is everything I need.

In a world where preachers are playing the crowd just so they can get more offerings, you are one of the few that preaches the unadulterated truth, and for that, I thank you. Excellent observation. Rev 18:20 is irrefutable proof that Revelation was fulfilled in AD70. John Mac conveniently glosses over that Mystery Babylon killed the Apostles. There were only 14 Apostles and all died almost 2,000 years ago. Life is great after learning that all was fulfilled!
The thing about the Bible is that you can make a play on any book or verse you wish to preach about. Jesus also said, in the end time, I will appear like a thief in the night. No one will know. Mankind has been trying to predict it for thousands of years when the end will arrive. Our science nowadays can show us an approaching meteor or comet, but so far, all have missed. The second law of thermo-dynamics states everything has an end time in the physical Universe, therefore YES there will be an END! John MacArthur hasn't a clue, but God bless him anyway. I'm sure that he has brought some souls closer to God. As for me, I will just remain Catholic and forgive those that trespass against me.

Just want to share one more thing with everyone...theres a common misconception that to please God, the more money you give to good causes the more blessed you are but this is untrue only serving to excuse men to live in excess and luxury stating such things as " well all my wealth gives me the ability to help and feed more people than you the poor man" but men need more than bread to live on, and when jesus was at the temple once he saw the wealthy all putting large sums of money in the pot then a little old lady put a very small insignificant amount in the pot basically nothing that could compare to the wealthy contributors but jesus saw the intent not the amount, the value he saw was that the woman gave from her poverty all she had to live on where as the wealthy gave out of their wealth only making sure they weren't really out of pocket. This is why i love jesus our wise and great God. What about the 7 Thunders? I realize that Revelation 10:3-4 is a little thin about what the Seven Thunders represent, but given the context could they be Babylon specific as opposed to global suffering?

Verses 19 to 21 have only to do with commanding (the text is in the imperative) the Jews in Judea to flee to the mountains of Petra in Southern Jordan, where God will provide safety for them the last 3.5 years of the Great Tribulation. With the AOD, Antichrist will inaugurate worldwide annihilation of the Jewish people in an attempt to thwart the Second Coming of Christ. I don't think that's why Babylon is depicted as a woman. And I don't see the worst societies being associated with the worship of women or of them being in powerful positions, so I don't think it is symbolic in this way. I think it has to do with Babylon literally worshipping a woman. See my points below. I think Babylon is depicted as a woman for two reasons: 1. The ancient Babylonian religion was centered around worshipping the Queen of Heaven. Seems legit to me that she would be the face of Babylon, past and future. 2. It's been said that women are the thermostat of a society's morality. If you want to see a society's ethos and morals, look at its women. The Bible doesn't say women shouldn't be in positions of political power. It only address the headship of the male in families and in certain church leadership positions. In fact, Deborah was a judge of Israel. There is something wrong when leadership of a nation becomes all female, but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be any females. His little discourses about women are unfair, unbiblical, and probably the only complaint I have about John MacArthur. All in all he's a great teacher and I'm blessed by his ministry.

As he said at the beginning of the series. Revelation says “ the reader understand “ he is understanding the Scriptures as they are written. In those days most of the people reading were not good readers. He is talking about this as it is written. It might not be as complicated as some preachers make it out of be. Since he has been studying with the help of the Holy Spirit, I find this much more reasonable than all the preachers who complicate everything.

Are we again going to travel into our future to figure out this Babylon story. That seems to be the direction a lot of teachers are going. His death ,burial and resurrection are profoundly important no matter what era you have been born into!!! Once again, these 1st century folks knew exactly what was going on at the time Revelation was written. Rev.1:1 "the things which must shortly take place" And vs.3 "for the time is near".These original recipients knew what was about to happen would happen to them. " Oh just relax" this stuff is 2000 yrs.into the future. Really!!!!!! Once again "the things which must shortly take place". These 1st century hearers knew the old testament much better than we ever will, they didn't have Matt. Mark and Luke but what they did have was over 200 direct allusions to the book of Rev. from the old testament. One of the favorite Old Testament passages they knew was Daniel 7:13. Getting back to Babylon in Rev. 18 here is a big hint. Babylon is not America, aBabylon is not Europe. Remember Rev.18:8, the who're is set on fire, the Romans torched everything in 70a.d. That's all you get!!!!!!!

Well , modern preachers are no match for Moses or the OT prophets who kept saying "Thus says the Lord" and not their own thought.

I had always loved to watch tv. After fully accepting God and our lord Jesus Christ I could not find anything on tv that was not tainted with corruption and sinful Everything I tried to find to watch made 46:52 me realise just how bad sin had encroached on every facet of life.

Excellent observation. Rev 18:20 is irrefutable proof that Revelation was fulfilled in AD70. John Mac conveniently glosses over that Mystery Babylon killed the Apostles. There were only 14 Apostles and all died almost 2,000 years ago. Life is great after learning that all was fulfilled!

The thing about the Bible is that you can make a play on any book or verse you wish to preach about. Jesus also said, in the end time, I will appear like a thief in the night. No one will know. Mankind has been trying to predict it for thousands of years when the end will arrive.
Our science nowadays can show us an approaching meteor or comet, but so far, all have missed. The second law of thermo-dynamics states everything has an end time in the physical Universe, therefore YES there will be an END!

This is why i love jesus our wise and great God. I hit enter. Verses 19 to 21 have only to do with commanding (the text is in the imperative) the Jews in Judea to flee to the mountains of Petra in Southern Jordan, where God will provide safety
for them the last 3.5 years of the Great Tribulation. With the AOD, Antichrist will inaugurate worldwide annihilation of the Jewish people in an attempt to thwart the Second Coming of Christ. The Church is not mentioned here, but along with His angels, the Church age saints will return with Him. I hope this helps.
I don't think that's why Babylon is depicted as a woman. And I don't see the worst societies being associated with the worship of women or of them being in powerful positions, so I don't think it is symbolic in this way. I think it has to do with Babylon literally worshipping a woman. See my points below.
I think Babylon is depicted as a woman for two reasons:
1. The ancient Babylonian religion was centered around worshipping the Queen of Heaven. Seems legit to me that she would be the face of Babylon, past and future.
2. It's been said that women are the thermostat of a society's morality. If you want to see a society's ethos and morals, look at its women.
The Bible doesn't say women shouldn't be in positions of political power. It only address the headship of the male in families and in certain church leadership positions. In fact, Deborah was a judge of Israel.
There is something wrong when leadership of a nation becomes all female, but that doesn't mean there shouldn't be any females.
His little discourses about women are unfair, unbiblical, and probably the only complaint I have about John MacArthur. All in all he's a great teacher and I'm blessed by his ministry.

Hebrews 12:11 “Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.” Pride in the human heart, be it man or woman is a condemnable sin that is rooted unbelief. 1 John 2:16 “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” So, you are aware that you really don’t take issue with Pastor John, you take issue with the LORD God, Himself. Please repent Repent and pray to be healed from the wounds the Truth have inflected on you for Yahweh’s Glory and your training in righteousness. As he said at the beginning of the series. Revelation says “ the reader understand “ he is understanding the Scriptures as they are written. In those days most of the people reading were not good readers. He is talking about this as it is written. It might not be as complicated as some preachers make it out of be. Since he has been studying with the help of the Holy Spirit, I find this much more reasonable than all the preachers who complicate everything.

I would say :" stop and turn around" and go in the other direction because it is impossible to garner any truth about what Rev.18 says and means by asking "us"in the 21st century what is this all about. We don't know !!!!! We are 2000 years ago removed from the original audience in the 1st century who by the way read this prophecy again and again out loud. And to be more dramatic!!! These 1st century people knew exactly what the prophecy was about because it was written to them. It was not written to us, but it was written for us. That is a distinction nobody makes!!!!!! So is the book of Revelation illrelavent to 21st century believers? Is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus illrelavent? Gee!!!! That happened 2000 years ago. His death ,burial and resurrection are profoundly important no matter what era you have been born into!!! Once again, these 1st century folks knew exactly what was going on at the time Revelation was written. Rev.1:1 "the things which must shortly take place" And vs.3 "for the time is near".These original recipients knew what was about to happen would happen to them. " Oh just relax" this stuff is 2000 yrs.into the future. Really!!!!!! Once again "the things which must shortly take place". These 1st century hearers knew the old testament much better than we ever will, they didn't have Matt. Mark and Luke but what they did have was over 200 direct allusions to the book of Rev. from the old testament. One of the favorite Old Testament passages they knew was Daniel 7:13. Getting back to Babylon in Rev. 18 here is a big hint. Babylon is not America, aBabylon is not Europe. Remember Rev.18:8, the who're is set on fire, the Romans torched everything in 70a.d.
