Anyway I studied in Baguio during my high school back in late 90s and every year I always had Korean classmates if we want to ask their names we asked them their Christian name not English name. Some stay only for for 2 months and goes back when their class starts in September some stayed and continued the entire school year. Back then Kpop and and Kdrama is not yet popular but we Filipinos are really friendly so we welcomed them talked to them asked them what are they doing in our country just simple conversation. It's hard to communicate with them because they only have few English words that's why they always bring their English-Korean (hangul) translations dictionary, if they don't know the words we are saying.
I grew up in the Philippines and then I moved to Canada but I'm a filipino and while I'm in the Philippines my cousins my uncles teach English to Koreans Koreans go to the Philippines to learn English but some of them live in the Philippines because their father or mother is filipino or their mother or father is korean and I just wanna share that because I see a lot of Koreans go to the phillipines to learn english well not just Koreans there are more but I always see Koreans walking outside and my uncles korean friends and students

When we starting at kindergarten or grade 1, we have an English subject already. So we need to speak English & tagalog at the classroom compulsory coz if not we got fine & need to pay after that. So literally we do learn and speaking English from school from the beginning. And that's one reason why Filipino's are good at english for speaking and writing also.
