The best way I have found for tying off poles on a tarp (or annex like yours) is to first tie a simple knot 4- 6 inches from the top the pole , then hook the loop over the spike as you did (5:50). It's an extra step but so easy to do. The guy rope won't ever come off the top.

I live in Southern Indiana so the rules and regulations are completely different here. We can collect firewood from dead standing trees. We can bring wood into the woods but it has to be barkless. I want to venture out more and explore the wilderness.
I'm a new fan, thanks for showing off all these great products and your processes for using them. I'm certainly more poor since I've found your videos, but much better informed. Would you mind sharing the dish washing/drying setup please?

You're right. We just researched and discovered that collecting and burning wood from the forest is not allowed in most national parks. We apologize for our mistake.
Could you guys also upload just the audio files of some of your stuff to like a podcast or something? The rain hitting your tent, or a flowing river, the sounds of the animals are just my absolute favorite things about camping.
3:55 I was thinking about trying those step inserts. I don’t have an awning like that though. I wonder how they are with the rain. I’m 48 now and my feet tend to be pretty sensitive in the morning. HC Steps is an awesome add-on kit. You can flip the stairs just as I did before I close the tent, and the steps won’t get wet. It was a blueberry smoothie block. We love to try new snacks and these Taiwanese were just perfect for the night. 🤙 Thank you!!

If i am not mistaken collecting down dead wood is fine. But i think cutting standing dead wood is only permitted in some certain areas, but be sure to check the NP's policy
Oh man we like the side windows of the x cover that has the cover we need for rainy days, but need the space for sky camp 3.0 😂 How do you find drying tents between raining days?

Not an urgent thing, but it needs to be dry at some point. We go camping every 3-4 weeks, so usually just dry out when I open it next time.

We recently moved to a condo with underground parking, so we had to lower the height. 😭

Not an issue. Open the tent and let it dry if the weather is good. Or just leave it if I’ll use it again in a few weeks.
