How is Drayden a Lance knockoff? Sure, they both are Dragon type trainers, but that's where the similarities end. For one, Drayden is a Gym Leader, while Lance is an Elite Four/Champion. Second of all, Drayden's team consist of Pokemon that actually are Dragon types, while Lance's team mostly consists of Pokemon that look like Dragons but aren't actually Dragon types. I don't even think Drayden uses Dragonite at all either.
He is also more badass than Lance, being older than the invention of Pokeball itself and being overall really powerful, he is more than awesome to clarify as a top ten Gym leader, not to mention his short role in the Pokemon Generations episode him taking down team Peta-i meant team scam----DAMMIT team Plasma.

Unova has hands down the best set of gym leaders imo. Other regions have 8 end bosses, most of them without any personality (with 2/3 exceptions in each region) but in Unova the G.L. are characters who actually do something in the story.

The Sinnoh gym leaders are super underrated. I hope they get some more love in future remakes because I really want to like Byron for more than just his badass aesthetic. Seriously, he has to be the most original gym leader design ever. He embodies the look of a dad while dressing the part of a steelworker. Plus I love his shovel, go Byron
I like how they gave Sinnoh's GLs day jobs lol, so I like that set and Blaine for his former job I guess you can say, same with Drayden being Mayor, Clay being ExxonMobil CEO or at least on the board, Norman because he is the dad, Giovanni for being the villian group leader, Blue for implying continuity within that universe / same thing with Jasmine, Roxie is cool I guess haha, Skyla's whole section is just great (like the airport, gym, etc.)
Flannery is so adorable in ORAS...she would most likely #1 female gym leader for me if it wasn't for Skyla. Male #1 is a tie between Blaine and Clemont.
My fav female is Lenora bc if I couldn't have my (frankly awesome) mother, I would want a mom similar in personality to Lenora. My fav male gym leader is probably Ramos bc he has a Gogoat and I'd love to sit and talk about grass types with him. I don't hate the younger grass type trainers but IRL their personalities would intimidate me and I just get along better with older people VS people closer to my own age.
I underestimated Bugzy when I went to his gym with my newly evolved Bayleef and my Hoothoot only to be squashed by his Scyther. So I ran out of his gym in shame. Frustrated, I went down in a nearby Well where I vent my frustrations by having my Hoothoot murder a bunch of Slowpokes until it evolves and went back to finally beat that androgynous gym leader.
Wattson in Emerald with Grovyle is actually one of the most difficult Gym Leaders, period. unless you get yourself a Geodude the combo of Magneton and Manectric is actually a real challenge.
Byron in the anime is so awesome lol. He's over the top and makes it clear he loves digging. Even when all of his fossils were stolen by Team Rocket, all he could think about was how impressive the hole they dig was. Another example of a Gym Leader that is more flushed out in the anime
HeartGold and SoulSilver was the PEAK of Pokemon. Genuinely the BEST game they made. Balanced asf... apart from that F**** Milktank. But they needed more pokemon tbh.

People are so quick to judge Unova but it honestly had so many content imbeded in it. The story line is substantially deeper than the other regions and the amount of pokemon in the region was really fun to have....being able to collect than many Pokemon was my favorite

Kanto Gym leaders: I like them they're good Johto Gym Leaders: They're great well Whitney her gym battle was just an pain Hoenn: I enjoyed battling Brawly, Winona and Tate and Liza Sinnoh Gym Leaders: They're good I like Roark's, Gardenia's, Fantina's, Candice's and Volkner's anime versions Unova Gym leaders: The element brothers both game and anime I like them the other gym leaders they're cool Kalos Gym Leaders: Clemont is my favorite sixth gen gym leader and I love the anime version of him other gym leaders I liked their gyms
Roxie’s definitely favorite gym leader to date. Not only is she the first Poison type gym leader since Janine, but her overall concept is awesome & I love her appearance in the anime (even though I cringe at the dialogue when rewatching her gym battle). Gardenia would be my second favorite because of her appearance in the anime & her obsession with Grass types. Burgh’s fun, but I like him more in the Nuzlocke comic “Myths of Unova” than anything else.

Unova has hands down the best set of gym leaders imo. Other regions have 8 end bosses, most of them without any personality (with 2/3 exceptions in each region) but in Unova the G.L. are characters who actually do something in the story.
I completely agree. I think gen 5 and 7 had really good character depth and world building imo.

The Sinnoh gym leaders are super underrated. I hope they get some more love in future remakes because I really want to like Byron for more than just his badass aesthetic. Seriously, he has to be the most original gym leader design ever. He embodies the look of a dad while dressing the part of a steelworker. Plus I love his shovel, go Byron
Yeah, I'm seriously hoping the remakes give them more personality and story, they have a lot of potential.
I like how they gave Sinnoh's GLs day jobs lol, so I like that set and Blaine for his former job I guess you can say, same with Drayden being Mayor, Clay being ExxonMobil CEO or at least on the board, Norman because he is the dad, Giovanni for being the villian group leader, Blue for implying continuity within that universe / same thing with Jasmine, Roxie is cool I guess haha, Skyla's whole section is just great (like the airport, gym, etc.)

Best female gym leader for me is definitely Gardenia and the best male one is either Cress, Volkner or Wulfric for me.
My fav female is Lenora bc if I couldn't have my (frankly awesome) mother, I would want a mom similar in personality to Lenora. My fav male gym leader is probably Ramos bc he has a Gogoat and I'd love to sit and talk about grass types with him. I don't hate the younger grass type trainers but IRL their personalities would intimidate me and I just get along better with older people VS people closer to my own age.
My favorite female gymleaders are Roxanne & Candice.

Frustrated, I went down in a nearby Well where I vent my frustrations by having my Hoothoot murder a bunch of Slowpokes until it evolves and went back to finally beat that androgynous gym leader.
Roark’s design is literally Silver with glasses and a hat.
Wattson in Emerald with Grovyle is actually one of the most difficult Gym Leaders, period.

Byron in the anime is so awesome lol. He's over the top and makes it clear he loves digging. Even when all of his fossils were stolen by Team Rocket, all he could think about was how impressive the hole they dig was. Another example of a Gym Leader that is more flushed out in the anime

People are so quick to judge Unova but it honestly had so many content imbeded in it.
The story line is substantially deeper than the other regions and the amount of pokemon in the region was really fun to have....being able to collect than many Pokemon was my favorite

My opinion on the Gym Leaders. Kanto Gym leaders: I like them they're good
Johto Gym Leaders: They're great well Whitney her gym battle was just an pain
Hoenn: I enjoyed battling Brawly, Winona and Tate and Liza
Sinnoh Gym Leaders: They're good I like Roark's, Gardenia's, Fantina's, Candice's and Volkner's anime versions
Unova Gym leaders: The element brothers both game and anime I like them the other gym leaders they're cool
Kalos Gym Leaders: Clemont is my favorite sixth gen gym leader and I love the anime version of him other gym leaders I liked their gyms
Roxie’s definitely favorite gym leader to date. Not only is she the first Poison type gym leader since Janine, but her overall concept is awesome & I love her appearance in the anime (even though I cringe at the dialogue when rewatching her gym battle).
Gardenia would be my second favorite because of her appearance in the anime & her obsession with Grass types.
Burgh’s fun, but I like him more in the Nuzlocke comic “Myths of Unova” than anything else.

Also why would it be difficult without the exp share? They kept the level curve the same as the original Ruby but your pokemon have more coverage moves than they used to and they gain more EXP per battle than OG RSE. You should be above the level curve the game was designed for even without the EXP share.
