For reference - I just looked at all 3 links in the video description. And also searched similar mats on Amazon... I ended up purchasing the first link. All black, 5mm thick, 4ft by 15ft long. $119 shipped. Thanks for the video!! This is exactly what I was looking for!
Thanks for the links, the first one actually had the best color options and I picked up a roll of purple speckled one for my box! Boy did I have some wrist cramps afterward after cutting, but boy is it worth it! It works great as a laying mat and kneeling when under a buss or over an engine, keeps the sharp and hot stuff away and saves the knees. I still have so much left over, gonna cut it up as needed for miscellaneous needs. Thanks again, way better than the mats issued to my Snap-On box, and I’m actually looking forward to cleaning it when the time comes, no more little crumbs like the old cheapo rolls!
this material is so awesome i used my cutting table to make small pieces to place under furniture to keep it from sliding works better than the junk you get at Lowes. i also cut a section and adhered to my welding cabinet where my shielding gas cylinder mount. also have cut smaller pieces and bonded as door closure bumpers. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸get creative once you get a roll.
Husky Premium Drawer Liner is half the price and covers more area. This "pro mat" is good for heavy use flooring, welding surface but might be over kill and takes up space as a liner. 45 mil Firestone pond liner is just a small amount more than Husky off Ebay at about $1 a sq ft in 5'x10' will last forever is tough and is only .043" thick. For what it's worth.
I've been looking for something that is waterproof and can be wiped off. And has a non-slip back or slight sticky feature. Whatever they call it. I have been doing different food preps for dogs and family on my toolboxes. Can't find any information. Thanks for the video.
They use that for loading paper on trailers also. Each role usually 2000-5000 lbs each sits on a rubber pad cut to size to prevent it from sliding around. I used to grab a bunch when I got unloaded they just throw it out.
Rich--I started to answer you myself, but your question was so general I didn't know where to begin. What type of sockets do you have?: Chrome or black oxide; impact, shallow, mid-depth or deep-well; extractor sockets for removing rounded-over fasteners; 1/4"-drive, 3/8"-drive, 1/2"-drive or larger; 6-pt, 8-pt or 12-pt; Torx; SAE or metric? Basically, you need to keep the ones you use most in the top drawer(s) of your tool box, service cart or whatever you're using. You didn't specify, but were you talking about storing them on those thin rails with clips, in socket trays (I prefer those made by Mechanics Time Savers, which have a magnetic rubber base); you can buy several makes of plastic trays with vertical rods that are labeled for the various sizes in your set (SAE or metric) or you can keep them in the plastic trays or metal boxes they originally came with at purchase, or make an after-market purchase of same or make your own from materials in your shop. If you're talking about organizing in general, you would try to keep like styles (chrome, impact, extractor, etc.) together, regardless of their drive size to make it easier to locate them when working on a job or project. No doubt, I missed a bunch of others, too, as I rushed through this response, but you get the idea. It comes down to: What type(s) do you have, and what do you hope to accomplish by "organizing" them?
I use the socket organizers from Craftsman with the strong magnetic base that lock the sockets in, they work great for my drawers and i like the positive lock of each socket. I usually buy extras and add or subtract to each unit to keep things in order
@Saqib Malik Tool boxes come in many designs and sizes They can be one big store all space. 'Tool box drawers' usually refers to standard tool boxes for tool storage in a shop where it is expedient to keep the tools organized in specific use order. The liners would therefore need to provide a certain level of tenacity between the tool and the liner. The liner would have to provide a certain level of tenacity to the drawer bottom, since the drawers would be opened and closed on a repetitive manner. Liners would keep the tools from sliding all over the drawer bottom.
Fantastic video thanks so much for sharing with us. I think this is the same stuff that came with my Mac toolbox. I no longer have it and was looking to get the liners for my new toolbox. I wasn’t having any luck until I came across your video. Thanks again
Richard Quach this stuff is 4mm thick you want a thick mat when you throw your heavier ratchets and wrenches in the drawers this is why i use these they dampen the sound completely and NEVER curl up
Richard Quach 6mm might be to hard to cut by hand as well, this stuff also works perfect as a surface topper for your welder or whatever you have. you can even trim and glue pieces under your jack stands.
this company does manufacture boxes for Snap On as private label this is why i bought them, had them 7years and love them i wish i bought 4 more as i need more space.
Top Shelf Innovations thats Amazon being the monopoly it is, my videos sell tons of product and they see the demand and jack prices up all the time because they can.
I just followed the links from video and searched around a bit... ended up buying the first link on Amazon. 5mm rubber mat 4’ wide by 15’ long for $119 shipped. This should do my entire new Matco box! Can’t wait.
Auto Fanatic Sure thing, layout video as in showing us what should be in your garage that will benefit in the long run, show us how you would store tools away, etc. Basically a how to stay organized video.
Napalm Nova good idea im so busy always il need time to really clean up and show everyone how i maximize my entire home shop because i have so many tools and equipment , il put this together soon
Auto Fanatic Thanks, I can't wait to see it. Your fanbase really appreciates the time and effort you put into each video. You deserve way more subs, you are too good in the automotive industry to stay below the 100k fanbase. Good luck on the long run man!
believe it or not my original intent of making this channel was to find guys who want to learn and work for me but it is so hard to find someone who wants to these days and learn a craft and trade i feel. but im having fun doing this and sharing with you guys. new video uploading now!
@@autofanaticcars - Years ago I ran across a black guy who was self employed, doing large moving truck deliveries for a big same day express delivery company. He delivered pallet racking for me. The guy wanted to get out of the business and into something productive. He asked me what I did and wanted to remain self employed. I had no answers. I told him to find someone who would do a paid apprenticeship. That could lead to being a paid employee, a partner or something mutually beneficial. There are a lot of black guys who want to learn, but you know the deal and how they grew up. I even want to get out of my business and into another productive career. I wish there was outreach to people like you. Maybe post a video on what everyone thinks about getting an apprentice for your business and videos. It might not work out and you obviously say that to your audience and the candidates.
try these mats they are super heavy duty, we tried the yoga stuff years back but this recycled rubber is dense, heavy and just works best we found in this thickness,/
Yes, yoga mats work great. Walmart has a good line of various thicknesses. The name is Warrior. The stuff also works good to put on the box lid so you can use that work surface without marring it. Just get some 3M Spray Adhesive.

you will go nuts when you get it when you see how heavy and durable they are, best find ever for my shop
Thank you my dad always got this stuff from work now he's retired I need more
Hey thanks for the tip!! I had a 5mm black workout mat still in the packaging! Saved me money bc I was about to go out and buy one!! Thank you!
Do your loose tools slide around?
never all my tools are in holders or custom inserts or magnetic trays
Awesome video and on something that's not well covered! First amazon link doesn't work for me do you happen to have an updated one ? thanks!
click on the second link, when Amazon sells out of the item they get relisted under new sellers and links bur the second one works
Thanks man! I was wondering bc it looked the same. Didn’t know if it was slightly different !
But do the tools stay in place when you shut the drawers?
for the most part i have added some press fit organizers from a company called Tool Lodge check them out

Char Aznable glad you used it this stuff is the best. Enjoy
They also have it at Wilco livestock and farm store. You can buy it per foot off of a huge role they have.
Bought the same stuff up here in the Toronto area for my tool chest topper for $15.00 . Marketed as a BBQ mat; has many different purposes.
Where did you buy it from in Toronto?
this material is so awesome i used my cutting table to make small pieces to place under furniture to keep it from sliding works better than the junk you get at Lowes. i also cut a section and adhered to my welding cabinet where my shielding gas cylinder mount. also have cut smaller pieces and bonded as door closure bumpers. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸get creative once you get a roll.
Great idea, how well does this stuff stand up to chemicals??
its great i have yet to see any deterioration of the rubber in years
I just popped for a roll with the blue speckles in it. It was just $5 more than the plain black stuff. I think this is going to look awesome.

Do your loose tools slide around in the drawer?
Another quality, cost effective tip, AF! Most informative GT350/automotive channel on the Tube, imho.
I've been looking for something that is waterproof and can be wiped off. And has a non-slip back or slight sticky feature. Whatever they call it. I have been doing different food preps for dogs and family on my toolboxes. Can't find any information. Thanks for the video.
KickDownDoors stuff is awesome grab off Amazon as other sellers gouge prices

Great thx for the tip,From SF CA;Could this be used for the mop video too??
shelbyflf no way to thick and heavy duty if you wanted to fold it over the edge but if you just want it in the face yes it will work perfect
Do your tools stay in place or do they slowly creep to the back of the drawer with closing the drawers?
tools stay put, for lighter tools i use magnetic flat holders and they work perfectly the rubber of this material grips tools well
Just realized I have Thin Rubber used for a Shower Wet Bed in my garage that I have not used.I think I'll give it a try.
Do you have a method to organizing sockets?
Rich Tran i use. twist lock socket organizers that are magnetic and stick. to the drawer bottoms easily even with these thick rubber liners in place.

Truck bedliner mats are the same thing.Playground mats same thing. Yoga mats are good alternative if you want something thinner and softer
Lexicon Devil yoga mat @ Walmart is about 5/16 thick also mostly purple color but works great
00:44-Flip them over and they blow. JK.
I have these.
They are useless and the reason I am watching your vid.
Thanks for the upload.
@Saqib Malik I give up, "What is the difference between toolbox liners and toolbox drawer liners?"
@Saqib Malik Tool boxes come in many designs and sizes
They can be one big store all space.
'Tool box drawers' usually refers to standard tool boxes for tool
storage in a shop where it is expedient to keep the tools
organized in specific use order.
The liners would therefore need to provide a certain level
of tenacity between the tool and the liner.

Liners would keep the tools from sliding all over the drawer bottom.
@Saqib Malik You can find those links in the description below the video window. Good luck
with your project.

Rocky Mountain Reviews yeah this is the stuff you want grab one roll to start then see if you need more its the only way to go. AF
What about a yoga matt
Too thick too soft it will curl badly
Good idea. Ya gotta watch mcmaster, they will break it off inside you if you let them!
This stuff is definitely nice, but definitely not $43 for 3ftx6.5ft that I can find
in the first link it is $119 for a 4x15 ft roll, so its actually cheaper per sq ft.
Thanks for the tip. Really good liner. 5 Stars.
You bet!
Is the 6mm too thick?
Richard Quach this stuff is 4mm thick you want a thick mat when you throw your heavier ratchets and wrenches in the drawers this is why i use these they dampen the sound completely and NEVER curl up
Right on man. I'll order the 4mm. They have 6mm as well...Just thinking if it would be too thick.
Richard Quach 6mm might be to hard to cut by hand as well, this stuff also works perfect as a surface topper for your welder or whatever you have. you can even trim and glue pieces under your jack stands.
Ordered! Thanks for the input. Great channel...Keep it up.
Which line of International toolboxes are you using? How does it feel compared to a snap on box?
this company does manufacture boxes for Snap On as private label this is why i bought them, had them 7years and love them i wish i bought 4 more as i need more space.
This is awesome, I always wondered what to get to line my tool boxes. Thanks
yeah this stuff is legit man, i just did my new welding cabinet last night i just love this stuff.
Thanks for the info really appreciate it
What the heck, I click your links and there is no $40 rolls.... maybe a $40 roll to cover cost of 2 drawers if lucky.
Can’t wait.
Future garage layout video?
Napalm Nova be more specific so i can get an idea

working on it, just been 4 months no other marketing or fancy hot shot connections helping me yet. stick around
Bought it from home depot
5/16" thick is WAY too thick for tool drawer liner.
Thanks man!
Wish my dad knew as much as this guy
send him over i could use help daily.
Auto Fanatic screw that I’ll come help. You have so much knowledge lol
