That Jimi Hendrix riff you played at 6:30 sounded really good. It's hard to believe thats all from one pedal. Thanks for the great video. I just might pick one up.
I did. And bought it yesterday. I really dig it. One of THE best OD pedals I have ever plugged into. But somehow I ended up getting a Boss Katana and Ibanez RG1070 as well? The pedal works great w/the Katana fyi. "Thank you". lol
Hey man!! Mine arrived yesterday on the strength of your recommendation and its so cool, offers a good alternative to my zen drive!! Another great video by the way 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Sorta kinda like a Tube Screamer with a bit hotter gain!? Not so much like the 1st ones but the second generations. I think they were model 7. What kinda $$$ for that Beast?
Dirty Shirley is more of a 50watt type medium gain, Marshall. Brown eye is more of an 80's modded Marshall high gain sound. BE has a lot more features but the Shirley has tons of tone just not all the bells and whistles.
There is something about pedals through Dirty Shirley I am not fond of, anyone else hearing some kind of harshness? like a car-crash type of effect everytime you hit the strings? I am hearing the exact same thing with mine.
I have this and the ISP theta. The Theta sounds so much more full. The only thing the BE-OD has over the Theta is the tight and price. Theta is much more. Theta has that fantastic gate too. I don’t use the pre amp part of it thought. I would use the Theta over the BE-OD anytime. Selling the BE.
cool licks. the pedals just ok to me. its a real good one trick unit imo but there are so many that do the same thing. i found mine to have to much fizz no matter what i did. maybe mine was defective dont know but i sold it.
HEY GREAT VIDEO! have you tried THE ZOO DRIVE it is made by one man who's name is llko lliev it is the only pedal he makes and it is the best OD/DIS pedal that no one knows about KILLER! I WILL give you your money back if you don't like it..........well maybe i won't go that far BUT it is KILLER!
Keep da Gain around 2 or 3 on yer stomp box, hace the level at 9, and run your killer amp a little dirty and u will have kill tone, that is if you have a kill amp. Any peoverdrive pedal will sound awesome thru my Hughes and Kettner, kay? Kay.
If this guy was playing thru a solid state Crate, this wonderful pedal surely wouldn't sound so hot. So u gotta wonder if the kill tome is more of a product of the Friedman amp, or the combo. I say Hughes and Kettner and Pigtronix pedals for me, man.
Jeff Nickoloff I have one of these which I use in front of my JCM900 on the clean channel.I tweak the treble a little on the pedal and mids on the amp and it cuts through perfectly. Also, there is an internal gain trim pot which I've turned down.It really is a great pedal.A little pricey however.
I love mine. I've had it for over a year and these pedals love all amps. Including fenders and vox's.
Awesome pedal! I got myself recently and it's been a beautiful addition to the family :)
Yep, those things are a blast!
That Jimi Hendrix riff you played at 6:30 sounded really good. It's hard to believe thats all from one pedal. Thanks for the great video. I just might pick one up.
Thanks! All their pedals are great!
Sounds like a crancked jcm 800 with a tube screamer!!
Damn, that sounds really good. I never, ever considered using another drive pedal other than my Xotics AC and BB. But now...
You should check one out for sure! You won't regret it!

You're welcome, it's the Limited Artisan Edition apparently, in stock at Sweetwater Sound!
Good Lord that pedal sounds great!! As always, great playing too Stache
Thank ya! It is an awesome pedal!
Christ- the ‘Hendrix’ sections sound amazing!!
Thanks!
I'd have to agree! The low-gain setting really floored me! That was awesome!!!
The sounds at 1:53 is amazing
+Dalton Love Thanks!
Killer demo bro! Thank you
Thanks Dom! Glad you liked it!
Holy Overtones Batman!
Excelent the Hendrix Session. How the trim pot has configured here? Thanks from Argentina
Thanks! Oh gosh I have no idea.
What pickup do you have in the bridge AND what. Model of Strat Dou you use on this demo, sounds Killer.man!!!
Thanks! Its a Lollar Imperial Low Wind. The guitar is a 60's Nash Strat.
Hey man!! Mine arrived yesterday on the strength of your recommendation and its so cool, offers a good alternative to my zen drive!! Another great video by the way 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks!
I'd like to hear the pedal itself without any influence from the amp. A "base tone" that already reaches into break-up isn't providing that.
Sorta kinda like a Tube Screamer with a bit hotter gain!? Not so much like the 1st ones but the second generations. I think they were model 7. What kinda $$$ for that Beast?
Alright now, how'd you get that cool finish on yours? Great channel, always inspiring, never a bad lick, thank you!
I think that is how they come now. Thanks for checking it out!
Artisan edition
My favourite pedal of the moment, but what I really want is that cap
Haha!
Nice, but I wish you would've set the amp clean so as the hear the pedal fully without pre breakup on the amp.
Yeah, I always run with a bit of dirt. There are tons of great demos of the pedal out there.
What is the difference between the Dirty Shirley amp and the Brown Eye amp? By the looks of the Dirty Shirley it is based on the offset Marshall.
Dirty Shirley is more of a 50watt type medium gain, Marshall. Brown eye is more of an 80's modded Marshall high gain sound. BE has a lot more features but the Shirley has tons of tone just not all the bells and whistles.
Thank you for giving a very bare bone review on this pedal and not some pretentious noodler playing some nonsense at the beginning of the video
There is something about pedals through Dirty Shirley I am not fond of, anyone else hearing some kind of harshness? like a car-crash type of effect everytime you hit the strings? I am hearing the exact same thing with mine.

You turn the knobs, and the sound is the same!! cool!!!
le bourreau get your ears sorted out😂
man ! yours have sucha badass look !! it is a particular edition ?
I think that is how they come now.
ha yep ? damn i have the ugly old one ehehehe
"And Justice", tell him that he wasn't playing old school Metallica and "Enter Sandman" is def not wicked, kay? Kay.
Jason Dotson shut up. Self titled was almost 30 years ago.
Hello. Does this sound the same as your standard be-od pedal? Is there a sound difference between standard and artisan be-od?
No they are the same.
I thought he was gonna say "Fricking most fire breathing sick diagusting pedophile" or something because of his face lol great demo
Great sounding pedal...great playing..a little wee of excitement with that tone 👍..a little off topic but what size pick do you using?
Thanks! I use medium tortex picks usually. I think they are 88mm.
papastache102 yellow tortex is 0.73 mm...according to Google 😄..thanks for answering Papa 🤘
Pedal is GOOOOD! 2 dislikes? Who the f are this people??
Good question haha! Thanks for checking it out!
Did you adjust the internal gain pot at all? Or is it at noon as they're shipped?
As shipped. Didn't even know it had one haha!
papastache102 ha! Yup. Just open up the back
cool licks. the pedals just ok to me. its a real good one trick unit imo but there are so many that do the same thing. i found mine to have to much fizz no matter what i did. maybe mine was defective dont know but i sold it.
Fuckin hell it's Matthew Mcconaghy!
+Maz Klassa Haha I get that a lot!
Forgive my ignorance but is that a song or original material at 4:08?
Yes
@@BrettPapa really?
Amazing sound! Which pickups set do you have?
Lollar. Imperial low wind in the bridge and I think they are called S series in the singles.
How is the internal trimpot set?
However it was when they sent it to me.
Do you use BE OD at 18V or 9V?
9v actually just a power supply.
Where's the mustache?
Down the drain haha!
Excellent.....-:))
Thanks!
“And that’s the gain , on like 2.” Awesome!
It's a good one!!
This pedal + a Les Paul is beyond belief. I promise
I bet it is!
This is the comment I was looking for.
Thanks! Haha, I'll have to check it out.
What song is 4:05??
Just making stuff up.
Damn man that sounded really fuckin good lol
Sounds like something that would be in a chili peppers song
If you learn triads, you play just like that! That’s some Jimi Hendrix classic stuff!
It’s f***ing beautiful
Friedman -> Friedman
Звук супер!!!
Great pedal but very noisy in a live situation, let mine go, don't do noisy rigs.
wym noisy?
I think I got a defective one because it’s noisy as f#@k
Hmmmm, send it back and see if there is really something wrong with it.
that much gain just kills any recognizable Tone of your guitar
Keep da Gain around 2 or 3 on yer stomp box, hace the level at 9, and run your killer amp a little dirty and u will have kill tone, that is if you have a kill amp. Any peoverdrive pedal will sound awesome thru my Hughes and Kettner, kay? Kay.

Needs a mid control. It's so scooped/buzzy, no meat or punch. Those tones get lost in the mix. That is how the amp sounds, at least in many demos.
In reality it's about settings, you can get a pretty fat tone turning down presence and tight, and bass up
I just built one of these and added a mid and put the gain trimmer on the front… yep, 8 knobs. But it’s perfect now. And the in/out. Is up on top
No control for Mids = no thanks. Shrill is not my thang.
I say go get yerself something from Pigtronix, like me!
Adjust the middle on the clean channel... does the trick
You can use the Middle knob on your amp, genius.
lmfao
1970borntorun two of my fenders have no middle control at all, so in this context what do you do
Wicked good playing... horrible sounding pedal....
Could just be how it came through on the demo. Go check one out they actually sound great if that hard rock tone is what you are going for.
