You're young, this was a music vid, probably the one that made her famous. Also there a Christian song called You're an overcomer, it's country style. I listen to it on the Klove Christian radio channel it's a lot of Southern Christian rock. Check it out. I've been listening to this particular song for a while. I don't really care what color the artist is, but I thought that she was white until I saw the vid

Yep, she is. I think in the 60's a lot of white artists copied the sounds of the black blues singers from the US - even the Beatles did to some extent. But I dont think Lisa Stansfield is manipulating that here. She's white, from Manchester, England and was a huge artist in the UK at the time. Everybody knew what colour the girl was.

UNDERRATED !!??. HOW DARE YOU !! LISA Is only underatted to anyone who says that based on their perspective through their lack of musical knowledge as opposed to everybody else that hears her. Wake up. Shes a legend and very highly creatively respected. You obviously are not aware of all the Spectacular Artists that have worked with her. I mean Prince sent one of his people over to her to request her presence and her husband persuaded her to go as she was nervous as she is oh so humble ( hence why you say that.....She actually slapped Prince fir flirting too much with her and then all he did was jump up and dance !! ...google it ) Many Artists have worked with her that paved the way even before she was born. I assume you perceive Lisa the way you do because you are not aware... . DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE MAKING SUCH STATEMENTS. I truly understand that you are jumping the gun OR you would not have made that comment. Google will guide you I guess .Lisa is a Nirthern Girl, like me. She never wanted the Massive Fame because she is all about the music and NOT THE EGO. that's why she is so creatively talented imo because she stays on track, hence her achieving her goals.

I remember watching on TV live when they had her at The Apollo (I already knew what she she looked like) and the crowd was quiet when she came out on stage, but went wild when she belted out those notes. Standing and applauding and jammin to the song as she kept singing. That was awesome to witness.

She's still active, and has a new release right now. I'd like to suggest Deeee-Lite, The Groove is in the Heart. It features the fantastic Bootsy Collins on bass ( played for James Brown, P-Funk, George Clinton, Bootsy's Rubber Band, and plays with Buckethead now, the guy was so cool he had his own cartoon in the 80s). It also features the incredible Lady Ms Kier on vocals.

Wow Ty; another vid circulating from 3 years ago~👍
Btw; you were & are correct. There was a lot of shadow cover hostage so the Artist would not be revealed physically. This is how label makers & promoters create their audience feed & bank the dough, while pushing & building the Artist persona & image for themselves. Funny insight. This is what helped Donny Osmond's come back career. It also catapulted the intrigue & career of Maxwell. 😉 Along with Lady T~ Teena Marie.

They probably did not put some people on the cover of their albums to reduce prejudice and give people a chance to hear great music without preconceived notions! I love all types of music and I hate it when people tell me I’m listening to white music...it’s so ignorant and small minded to think that way! Peace! ❤️❤️

Lisa Stansfield All Around The World has that noticeable Barry White influence. I think she recorded a version with Barry White as well. Look it up. You're probably learning that British artist are heavily influenced by US R&B music.

Another hit I remember ever so vividly. Even though I wasn't born at the time it came out, it was played heavily on the radio in the late 90s

DO Debarge!!!! They dont have any reactions on youtube yet! and they are a really timeless r&b group from the 80s. They were on Motown (Jermaine Jackson discovered them but their brother was in a band called Switch in the 70s) You will probably get a lot of views for that since you would be the first
