Fun fact about Freddie which not many people know. He had a piano for a headboard on his bed so that if he ever had any ideas in his sleep he could wake up and play them. The guy was a musical genius.

My favorite live performance of Bohemian Rhapsody!! Freddie’s masterpiece or “baby” so to speak!! I love when Freddie swaggers back to the piano for the outro after the rock section!! If you want more Freddie vocals, check out .. IN MY DEFENSE & ONE YEAR OF LOVE. Stunning 🤗 👑 🌟 🌟

Queen was a democracy... that was why the members fought and argued a lot during their career. Freddie Mercury wrote 'Bohemian rhapsody'... and it was an ambitious undertaking in the studio for sure, w/ all the vocal overdubs. Freddie wrote a number of hits including "Don't stop me now"... and 'Love of my life'...
John Deacon (bass) was the quiet guy in Queen, and he wrote some of their biggest hits - 'Another one bites the dust'... 'I want to break free'... etc.
Brian May (guitar) and Roger Taylor (drums) were bandmates before Queen in the 60's in a band called Smile... the 2 still work together today, but they would disagree in the studio frequently. Brian May wrote "We will rock you"... while Freddie added "We are the champions"... May also wrote 'Fat bottomed girls'... and 'Who wants to live forever'... while Roger Taylor wrote hits like 'These are the days of our lives'... 'Radio Ga Ga'.
In 1984, Queen decided to collaborate on making songs together, starting w/ the album 'The Works'... They carried on that way until Freddie's death in 1991.
Some of the biggest songs of all time (besides 'Bohemian rhapsody' by Queen):
    1. Hotel California (by The Eagles)
    2. Stairway to heaven (by Led Zeppelin)
    3. Billie Jean (by Michael Jackson)
    4. You shook me all night long (by AC/DC)
    5. Smells like teen spirit (by Nirvana)
    6. The Chain (by Fleetwood Mac)
    7. Yesterday (by The Beatles)
    8. Time (by Pink Floyd)
    9. Sweet Child O' mine (by Guns N' Roses)
    10. Can't help falling in love (by Elvis Presley)

@@InnaSoloMusicthis song came midway into the show. You can tell by the way Freddie slowly undresses through it. By the end he's in a pair of short shorts and barefoot.
The "Blinky thing" is a chance for them to take a short break. They use the actual recording from the album as that section is hard to reproduce live.

Bohemian Rhapsody, music and lyrics by Freddie Mercury, production by the four who comprise Queen, Roger, John (Deaky), Brian and Freddie with production personnel as well. I think it is a musical masterpiece in a class all by itself . . . beautiful perfection .. . none better. I particularly love how they adapted the complex arrangement to become a magnificent concert number. Have seen it many times and was overjoyed watching it with you. Thanks for the reaction. I wish you would react to the studio version of Love of My Life, written by Freddie for Mary Austin. He has Brian beautifully playing the harp.

Yes, it is always in the conversation for best songs ever, it is just so unique! Any Queen live is worth a look but most gravitate to Live Aid, a fantastic performance but some in the mid to late 70s get a bit overlooked, try Liar, the official video or live in 1974, they breathed fire on those early albums and produced some of the best hard rocking tunes in their style. Ogre Battle is another Banger, amazing live. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶

  • @vals_loeder

It is one of the best songs ever, if alone by popularity. The story behind this song is that Freddy was working on three separate songs and got stuck, so he threw the three together and Bohemian Rhapsody was born. As far as I know all four members wrote songs for the band and Freddy was probably the most prolific one. Do I think this the best song ever ... no, but I find it impossible to name one song the best. There is simply way too much fantastic music to listen to and one day I am sure song A is the best of all time and the next day it is song B. Bohemian Rhapsody however is one of my favourite songs and I know the lyrics by heart. This was again a great reaction! Thank you.

It didn’t occur to me until I watched this but the operatic part is so difficult even for a group as amazing as Queen. Getting all of them synchronized live would be amazingly difficult so I absolutely understand using backing tracks for that portion.

This video shows the full concert experience of them doing the song - they just ran the tape for the big choir part ( "Bismillah", etc. ) then came back out to perform the rest. Recording that section took a ton of overdubs, 3 of them singing parts, layering & layering.

My top 5 favourite Queen songs:
    1. March of the Black Queen
    2. Father to Son (Live in Birmingham 1973). Studio version could’ve been better
    3. Liar (Live in Glasgow 1973, as good as the studio version)
    4. Too Much Love Will Kill You
    5. The Millionaire’s Waltz

To me, this is still the best song ever. It changed the way people looked to rock music. Rock was still relatively new, starting about 20-25 years before this song, but really picking up in the 60's with the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Gerry & the Pacemakers, etc, and hard rock becoming a thing in the late 60's and early 70's.
That's when bands like Queen, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Van Halen started. Because hard rock was a new thing, on one hand most bigger bands found their own sound, but because more or less everything was new it was kinda hard to _really_ stand out.
Queen started out in 1970 but didn't release their first album until 1973, and released two more the next year. The album Bohemian Rhapsody is on is A Night at the Opera from 1975, their fourth album. It's kind of a weird album in itself (although I really like this one a lot, it also has You're My Best Friend and Love of My Life on it, two fantastic songs) with songs like 39, Seaside Rendezvous and Good Company which I can't see as hard rock in any way really. It's basically all over the place music wise.
Bohemian Rhapsody started out half as a joke, half as a way for Freddie to tap into the other genres he loved. He was an avid lover of all kinds of styles besides rock, including opera for one. It took him a few months to write Bohemian Rhapsody and he had a very clear vision of this song, where Queen usually liked to ad-lib quite a bit in the studio. Because of all the different segments it took the band quite a bit of time to learn. It took them over three weeks to record it.
In the meanwhile most people who knew what they were doing though they were going crazy. Songs tended to be on the short side in this time, usually about 3 minutes, especially songs which were released as a single to get radio playtime. In the meantime, the band wanted Bohemian Rhapsody to be the lead single for the album. The song was a weird concoction of a hard rock song, opera and a ballad, and on top of that was almost twice as long as singles would normally be.
People told them this would never be a hit due to it's length, other musicians commented that the song would never make it to being played on radio and radio DJ's were holding back. One DJ was open to it and Queens producer at the time gave him a copy "but you can only have it if you promise not to play it". The DJ responded with "I won't play it 😉".
He teased the audience with short fragments of the song at first, and the audience was going crazy for it. Eventually he played the full song and everyone loved it, and other radio stations started to play it as well. The song that was never gonna be a hit was topping the charts all over the world. It received many prizes, broke many records and is widely regarded as the best song ever, even today.

And about not being able to sing well, who cares 😁 Songs like this deserve to be sung by everyone. I can't sing one bit either, or dance for that matter, but whenever I go to concerts I'm always singing and dancing along, having the best time 😊 Believe me, I've been singing along during this video as well 😅
7:50 I always find it very difficult to give a top 5 songs. It depends on so many things. So because of that I'm gonna give you two lists. 😬 First the list with songs while looking at the importance of songs as a whole and what they meant for music:
    1. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
    2. Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
    3. The Eagles - Hotel California
    4. John Lennon - Imagine
    5. Pearl Jam - Black
And second, a list with songs that have an important meaning for me in a personal way.
    1. Alter Bridge - In Loving Memory
    2. Queen - Love of My Life
    3. Poets of the Fall - Temple of Thought
    4. Guns n' Roses - Don't Cry
    5. Myles Kennedy - Love Can Only Heal
8:06 Most Queen songs were written by Freddie or Brian May (guitarist), although Roger Taylor (drummer) and John Deacon (bass player) also wrote a bunch of them. Bohemian Rhapsody was written by Freddie just as Love of My Life, and also songs like Don't Stop Me Now and We Are the Champions. Brian wrote We Will Rock You, Who Wants To Live Forever and Save Me among others. The most famous song written by John was Another One Bites the Dust and the most faous song written by Roger was Radio Ga Ga

Very daring challenge to the basic structure of a rock song. Plus the video itself was a game changer. Queen fought to keep the longer length and stuck by the song amidst all the nay sayers. And here we are all these years later, still marveling at it and the impact it still has. Four musicians, four songwriters, four personalities, one big sound: Queen.

  • @marciebulsaraorcutt

EACH of the four Queen band members is individually in the Hall Of Fame for having written hit songs.
(Later in the 80s, they started just putting writing credits for every new song as being by “Queen”- all four of them - no matter who wrote it. That way, the writing royalties would be divided equally, instead of one band member receiving more $$$ than the other three.)

A top 3 is hard, this is in the top 10 for me, but there are too many songs that are good for different reasons
I think maybe top 3 for me:
Guns n roses - November rain
U2 - With Or Without You
    R.E.M. - Everybody Hurts
I realized when starting to write them down I thought of another 30 songs that should be up there so I obviously suck at top 3 lists

You definitely need to do a live reaction to somebody to love, live at the bowl 82.
    Basically.
John deacon wrote mostly very pop songs, usually centred around his wife, his hits were your my best friend, I want to break free and of course bites the dust!!
Roger was anything really, mainly rebellion in the early years. His hits were Gaga, Magic You should do a live reaction of "in love with my car"
Freddie wrote a lot about like heart break such as this and somebody to love
    and
    ballads

Would say QUEEN FOREVER" but since Freddie past away and John Deacon, the bassist left, Queen is no longer Queen for me. With all the Love and Appreciation . And on my own opinion, I know it doesn't count. The chemistry in the band broke up. With whoever they sing and play actually is for money, but not for the Fans.

But I don't think they play for money, they are all multimillionaires.
They love what they do and have always done and it's so tragic to do it without Freddie and John.
It's Brian's and Roger's decision to go on with Queen's name and it's our decision to join in or stay away.
For me it would be sad to see Queen without Freddie and John.
